But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education sucks, and it’s the same reason that it will never, ever, ever be fixed. It’s never gonna get any better. Don’t look for it. Be happy with what you got. Because the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests. Thats right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting f*cked by a system that threw them overboard 30 f*cking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this f*cking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people -- white collar, blue collar, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on -- good honest hard-working people continue -- these are people of modest means -- continue to elect these rich c*cksuckers who don’t give a f*ck about them. They don’t give a f*ck about you. They don’t give a f*ck about you. They don't care about you at all -- at all -- at all. And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. That's what the owners count on; the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes everyday. Because the owners of this country know the truth: it's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.

Analysts, researchers, and even some tech giants have repeatedly warned that today's AI business is becoming a bubble. A big chunk of all AI investments currently mean purchasing Nvidia's processors, and the company is working to secure its position with a flurry of new partnerships. Unsurprisingly, Nvidia's CEO is among the few who openly dismiss claims that a bubble exists.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently told Bloomberg he doesn't believe the recent AI boom has become a bubble, breaking with months of warnings from across the business world. Speaking at the company's GTC conference in Washington DC, he characterized the current moment as a virtuous cycle.

After being accused of illegally torrenting pornography to train its AI systems, Meta is asking a court to throw out the case because the content was likely for "personal use." Meta also claims there is no evidence of it using adult images or video to train its AI systems.
We've seen several instances of AI companies being hit with lawsuits. Meta was served with another of these complaints in July, filed by Strike 3 Holdings and Counterlife Media, makers of popular adult entertainment brands such as Vixen, Tushy, Blacked, and Deeper.
According to TorrentFreak, the companies allege that Meta downloaded at least 2,369 of their movies since 2018 to train its AI.

Citiraj:
Despite the associated concerns, Meta is increasing its AI spending. After announcing financial results that were heavily impacted by a massive tax bill, the company said its AI infrastructure spending will continue to rise and capital expenditure in 2026 will be "notably larger" than in 2025.
Meta just reported $51.24 billion in quarterly revenue, up 26% YoY and beating both Wall Street's and its own expectations for Q3. But its earnings per share (EPS) of $1.05 was far below Wall Street's expected $6.70.
The drop in EPS was due to a one-time non-cash income tax charge of $15.93 billion. Without that expense, EPA would have been $7.25.

Citiraj:
U.S. GDP growth in the first half of 2025 was almost entirely driven by investment in data centers and information processing technology, according to Harvard economist Jason Furman. Excluding these technology-related categories, Furman calculated in a Sept. 27 post on X.com GDP growth would have been just 0.1% on an annualized basis, a near standstill that underlines the increasingly pivotal role of high-tech infrastructure in shaping macroeconomic outcomes.

Furman’s findings, shared online and echoed by financial analysts including Robert Armstrong of the Financial Times‘ Unhedged (the same writer who coined the term “TACO trade’), echo several months of observations on the remarkable surge in data-center infrastructure. In August, Renaissance Macro Research estimated, to date in 2025, the dollar value contributed to GDP growth by AI data-center buildout had surpassed U.S. consumer spending for the first time ever. That’s remarkable considering consumer spending is two-thirds of GDP.

Yep - i zato se pumpa AI.A kad smo kod toga:

Citiraj:
OpenAI is reportedly preparing for a massive IPO that could value the company at up to $1 trillion. It follows a recent corporate restructuring that loosened its dependence on Microsoft and aligned its nonprofit foundation with financial success. Reuters reports:
Citiraj:
OpenAI is considering filing with securities regulators as soon as the second half of 2026, some of the people said. In preliminary discussions, the company has looked at raising $60 billion at the low end and likely more, the people said. They cautioned that talks are early and plans -- including the figures and timing - could change depending on business growth and market conditions. Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar has told some associates the company is aiming for a 2027 listing, the people said. But some advisers predict it could come even sooner, around late 2026.

[...] An IPO would open the door to more efficient capital raising and enable larger acquisitions using public stock, helping to finance CEO Sam Altman's plans to pour trillions of dollars into AI infrastructure, according to people familiar with the company's thinking. With an annualized revenue run rate expected to reach about $20 billion by year-end, losses are also mounting inside the $500 billion company, the people said. During a livestream on Tuesday, Altman addressed the possibility of going public. "I think it's fair to say it is the most likely path for us, given the capital needs that we'll have," he said.

Pitao ja ChatGPT za AI bubble...i on posložio i sumirao:

The AI Boom Isn’t a Bubble — It’s a Transformation.
People love to compare AI to the dot-com bubble.
It’s a lazy analogy. Yes, some AI startups will fail — just like many dot-coms did. But that wasn’t the death of the internet.
It was the shakeout that cleared the way for Amazon, Google, PayPal, and Netflix to build the foundation of the digital age.
Today’s AI boom is fundamentally different: AI is already delivering productivity, not just promises.
Startups can build and scale in days, thanks to mature cloud and GPU infrastructure.
Multiple sectors are surging in parallel — models, robotics, medicine, education, open source.
Governments are actively regulating AI as it grows, not after it collapses.
The cost of experimentation has dropped to near-zero; the speed of deployment is unprecedented.
> Dot-coms spent big on hype. AI startups are earning by reducing overhead and creating value.
We’re not watching one industry inflate — we’re watching a new intelligence layer embed itself into everything: tools, workflows, research, creativity, and infrastructure.
There will be a shakeout. That’s natural.

But the winners? They’ll be the infrastructure of the next century — powering a world where intelligence is built in.

Last Sunday (2025-10-26) I discovered some abusive bot behaviour during a routine follow-up on anomalies that had shown up in my server's logfiles. There were a bunch of 404 errors ("Not Found") for a specific JavaScript file.
Most of my websites are static HTML, but I do occasionally include JS for progressive enhancement. It turned out that I accidentally committed and deployed a commented-out script tag that I'd included in the page while prototyping a new feature. The script was never actually pushed to the server - hence the 404 errors - but nobody should have been requesting it because that HTML comment should have rendered the script tag non-functional.
Clearly something weird was going on, so I dug a little further, searching my log files for all the requests for that non-existent file. A few of these came from user-agents that were obviously malicious:
  • python-httpx/0.28.1
  • Go-http-client/2.0
  • Gulper Web Bot 0.2.4 (www.ecsl.cs.sunysb.edu/~maxim/cgi-bin/Link/GulperBot)
The robots.txt for the site in question forbids all crawlers, so they were either failing to check the policies expressed in that file, or ignoring them if they had. But then there were many requests for the file coming from agents which self-identified as proper browsers - mostly as variations of Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.
Most of these requests seemed otherwise legitimate, except their behaviour differed from what I'd expect from any of those browsers. There are occasionally minor differences between how browsers parse uncommon uses of HTML, but I can say with a lot of confidence that all the major ones know how to properly interpret an HTML comment. I had caught them in a lie. These were scrapers, and they were most likely trying to non-consensually collect content for training LLMs.

Password manager 1Password's 2025 Annual Report: The Access-Trust Gap exposes how everyday employees are becoming accidental hackers in the AI era. The company's data shows that 73% of workers are encouraged to use AI tools, yet more than a third admit they do not always follow corporate policies. Many employees are feeding sensitive information into large language models or using unapproved AI apps to get work done, creating what 1Password calls "Shadow AI." At the same time, traditional defenses like single sign-on (SSO) and mobile device management (MDM) are failing to keep pace, leaving gaps in visibility and control.

The report warns that corporate security is being undermined from within. More than half of employees have installed software without IT approval, two-thirds still use weak passwords, and 38% have accessed accounts at previous employers. Despite rising enthusiasm for passkeys and passwordless authentication, 1Password says most organizations still depend on outdated systems that were never built for cloud-native, AI-driven work. The result is a growing "Access-Trust Gap" that could allow AI chaos and employee shortcuts to dismantle enterprise security from the inside.

OpenAI will pay Amazon $38 billion for computing power in a seven-year deal that marks the companies' first partnership. Amazon expects all of the computing capacity negotiated as part of the agreement will be available to OpenAI by the end of next year. The ChatGPT maker will train new AI models using Amazon's data centers and use them to process user queries.

The deal is small compared with OpenAI's $300 billion agreement with Oracle and its $250 billion commitment to Microsoft. OpenAI ended its exclusive cloud-computing partnership with Microsoft last month and has since signed almost $600 billion in new cloud commitments. Amazon Web Services is the industry's largest cloud provider, but Microsoft and Google have reported faster cloud-revenue growth in recent years after capturing new demand from AI customers.

arXiv, a preprint publication for academic research that has become particularly important for AI research, has announced it will no longer accept computer science articles and papers that haven't been vetted by an academic journal or a conference. Why? A tide of AI slop has flooded the computer science category with low-effort papers that are "little more than annotated bibliographies, with no substantial discussion of open research issues," according to a press release about the change.

arXiv has become a critical place for preprint and open access scientific research to be published. Many major scientific discoveries are published on arXiv before they finish the peer review process and are published in other, peer-reviewed journals. For that reason, it's become an important place for new breaking discoveries and has become particularly important for research in fast-moving fields such as AI and machine learning (though there are also sometimes preprint, non-peer-reviewed papers there that get hyped but ultimately don't pass peer review muster). The site is a repository of knowledge where academics upload PDFs of their latest research for public consumption. It publishes papers on physics, mathematics, biology, economics, statistics, and computer science and the research is vetted by moderators who are subject matter experts.

Even the most advanced AI struggles outside the lab. In real-world tests, large language models stumble when it comes to spatial reasoning, situational awareness, and handling unpredictable environments. While they excel at analytical tasks, today's LLMs still cannot reliably manage complex physical challenges.
Researchers at Andon Labs recently evaluated how well large language models can act as decision-makers in robotic systems. Their study, called Butter-Bench, tested whether modern LLMs could reliably control robots in everyday environments – particularly in carrying out multi-step tasks like "pass the butter" in an office setting.
Instead of relying on complex humanoid machines, the researchers used a robot vacuum fitted with lidar and a camera, allowing them to focus on high-level reasoning and planning while avoiding the challenges of low-level motor control. The robot could perform a small set of broad actions – moving forward, rotating, navigating to coordinates, and capturing images – and was integrated with Slack to share updates and respond to new instructions.

> LLMs tried to run a robot in the real world – it didn't go well

AI has mostly been confined to the virtual world, but it is now learning from the physical mechanics of everyday life, driven by a global surge in data collection and annotation. From manufacturing hubs in southern India to research labs around the world, data specialists are building the foundations for AI systems capable of practical, real-world tasks.
In the textile city of Karur, Naveen Kumar begins his day not by writing code, but by performing hundreds of precise hand movements to fold towels. With a GoPro camera attached to his forehead, he records every gesture, from the way his fingers grip the fabric to the sequence of folds and placement of each item.
These recordings are not intended for social media or training manuals. Instead, they power Objectways, a data labeling company that supplies annotated training materials to robotics and generative AI clients around the world. Objectways, which has more than 2,000 employees, divides its work between annotating sensor data for autonomous vehicles and robotics and providing performance feedback for generative AI systems.

> AI has read everything on the internet, now it's watching how we live to train robots

The layoff plan underscores how aggressively Big Blue is betting on automation, consulting, and quantum computing to define its next decade. It also marks the latest step in IBM's years-long effort to streamline legacy operations and refocus its workforce on the higher-margin segments driving future growth.
IBM is planning another round of staff reductions as it deepens its shift toward artificial intelligence and high-margin software services. The company said the cuts will affect a low single-digit percentage of its global workforce, which totaled roughly 270,000 employees at the end of 2024. While precise numbers were not disclosed, IBM described the measures as part of an ongoing "rebalancing" aimed at aligning employee skills with growth areas such as AI consulting, cloud computing, and quantum research.

What did Ilya see?" Two years ago, it was the meme seen 'round the world (or at least 'round the tech industry). OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had been briefly ousted in November 2023 by members of the company's board of directors, including his longtime collaborator and fellow cofounder Ilya Sutskever. The board claimed Altman "was not consistently candid in his communications with the board," undermining their confidence in him. He was out for less than a week before being reinstated after hundreds of employees threatened to resign. But observers wondered: What hadn't Altman been candid about? And what led Sutskever to turn against him?

Now, new details have come to light in a legal deposition involving Sutskever, part of Musk's ongoing lawsuit against Altman and OpenAI. For nearly 10 hours on October 1st, bookended by repeated sniping between Musk's and Sutsever's attorneys, Sutskever answered questions about the turmoil around Altman's ouster, from conflicts between executives to short-lived merger talks with Anthropic. He testified that from personal experience and documentation he'd viewed, he'd seen Altman pit high-ranking executives against each other and offer conflicting information about his plans for the company, telling people what they wanted to hear.

The testimony paints a picture of a leader who could be manipulative and chameleon-like in the relentless pursuit of his own agenda -- though Sutskever expressed hesitation about his reliance on some of the secondhand accounts later in testimony, saying he "learned the critical importance of firsthand knowledge for matters like this." In a statement toThe Verge, OpenAI spokesperson Liz Bourgeois said that "The events of 2023 are behind us. These claims were fully examined during the board's independent review, which unanimously concluded Sam and Greg are the right leaders for OpenAI." The comment echoes a 2024 statement by board chair Bret Taylor, following an investigation conducted by the company.
Altman "exhibits a consistent pattern of lying, undermining his execs, and pitting his execs against one another," reads a quote from the memo Sutskever. Altman told him and Jakub Pachocki, who is now OpenAI's chief scientist, "conflicting things about the way the company would be run," leading to internal conflict and repeated undermining.

Sutskever said he also faulted Altman for "not accepting or rejecting" former OpenAI research executive Dario Amodei Dario's conditions when he wanted to run all research and fire OpenAI president Greg Brockman, implying Altman played both sides.

Furthermore, OpenAI CTO Mira Murati surfaced claims that Altman left Y Combinator for "similar behaviors. He was creating chaos, starting lots of new projects, pitting people against each other, and thus was not managing YC well."
