Here's the Radeon HD 6990 up close. The HD 6990 is AMD's new dual-GPU graphics card that extends the performance leadership held by Radeon HD 5970. The pictures put rest to some speculation surrounding the cooler design. It now appears that the cooler design is similar to that of the GeForce GTX 295 single-PCB, as far as air-flow is concerned. A single long PCB holds two GPU systems on either sides, a centrally-located blower pushes air on either sides. The exhaust from one GPU is sent out of the case, while that from the other is pushed out of the card from its rear portion.

The Radeon HD 6990 uses two 40 nm Cayman GPUs, it packs a total of 3072 stream processors, and 4096 MB of memory between the two GPU systems. It also features a new kind of display output that consists of one dual-link DVI and four mini-DP 1.2. Power is drawn in from one 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe connector. The card can pair with another of its kind for 4-GPU CrossFireX. It is expected to be released a little later in this quarter.

Pitanje je samo na kojem ce taktu delat i performanse ce vjerojatno bit izmedu 6950 cf i 6970 cf. Usporedbe sa gtx 580 su nepotrebne jer nisu u istoj ligi. Ak jedna 6970 uspjesno parira jednoj 580, onda nije neka znanost zakljuciti da ce ju dvije rasturit.
Jos samo da dodu igre vrijedne takve zvijercine. Ne znam kaj je u zadnje vrijeme ali vec dost dugo nije izaslo nista posteno..

Odakle ti brojka o 3840 SP-a?
Ako jedna HD6970 ima 1536, znaci li da HD6990 moze imati najvise 3072 (2*1536) ili je neki drugi cip u pitanju ili "Cayman" ima jos zakljucanih SP-a

šteta šta nisu stavili neke benchmark rezultate :/

Ne očekujem ništa revolucionarno u svakom slučaju. Tko je čitao recenziju vidio je i sam da niti jedna postavka nije bila na max, što zbog činjenice da su vrtili demo igru, što zbog toga jer kartica nije mogla održavati fluidni fps. Istina, 3 monitora su u igri, ali svejedno, kartica takvih specifikacija bi to morala vrtjeti.
Tko zna, možda driveri i poprave štogod, no opet, tko zna-možda su i u šumi

March 8 Launch Date for Radeon HD 6990

The consumer graphics industry is about to see yet another round of competition between top market players AMD and NVIDIA in March, with reports suggesting that the red team (AMD) has chosen March 8 as the launch date of its Radeon HD 6990 graphics card. NVIDIA's response, the GeForce GTX 590 is slated for sometime later in March, as well. AMD is said to be finalizing the SKU, and it should be launched by partners on the 8th of next month. The Radeon HD 6990 is a dual-GPU "CrossFire on a stick" solution, in which two AMD Cayman GPUs with 2 GB of memory each, work in tandem.

Display IO includes five connectors, including one DVI and four mini-DisplayPort 1.2. While the HD 6990 is said to outperform GeForce GTX 580, AMD is also bracing itself for NVIDIA's dual-GPU GTX 590, with HD 6990 OC variants following an official specification of 880 MHz core, and the same 5.00 GHz memory.

European retailer salland.eu listed ASUS' upcoming Radeon HD 6990 graphics card on pre-order. It can be pre-ordered for € 715 (about US $1,000). Items put on pre-order can tend to be a little expensive, but € 715 is a staggering price. Even if (the big if) the retailer set its pre-order price a good 20% above the release price, we're looking at a € 572.25 ($ 802) retail price for the ASUS HD 6990, at least in EU.

The listed card carries the SKU EAH6990 3DI4S/4GD5. Specifications listed show that the card carries clocks of 830 MHz core, and 1250 MHz (5000 MHz effective) memory. It packs 4 GB of total memory. AMD's Radeon HD 6990 graphics card is expected to be launched tomorrow.

Od svega mi je najzanimljivije što jedna HD 6970 jednako brza kao i GTX 580 na 2560x1600 u Metro 2033, dok prelaskom na Full HD već gubi dosta.

Očito 500-ak MB više VRAM-a čini osjetnu razliku na većim rezolucijama (što je i očekivano).

Inače, gledam malo po netu review-ove i jedino što mogu reći je da je kartica precijenjena. A strah me i pomisliti koja će cijena biti u RH kada je MSRP u Americi 700$...

Mene je strah pomisliti kolika će cijena GTX590 biti kad ju izbace

Ne moraš mi linkat nikakve grafove znam sam iz prve ruke koliko što cucla struje

Znači iz ovih testova koliko sam na netu vidio nvidia mora da bi mogla parirat AMD-u napravit GTX590 sa dvije GTX570, a ako želi preuzet titulu onda dvije GTX580.

lako je tako bit pametan

1. Nervira me što crossfire nediše kako spada u 90% naslova( koji se povlače po testovima)
2. Ipak ju neću kupiti
3. Možda Jelc kupi (opet) za soma u nekoj našoj trgovini pa ćemo ju vidjeti i na forumu
