Radeon X1950Pro i X1950XTX

RV570 chipset bear the name of Radeon X1950 as Radeon X1950 Pro. It’s the replacement of Radeon X1900GT. RV570 has 12 Pixel Shader pinelines, 36 Pixel Shader processors, and 256Bit memory controller. Manufactured by TSMC with 80nm process, it’s clocked at 600MHz with 1.4GHz GDDR3 memory. The heat sink is single-slot designed. Radeon X1950 Pro is the first GPU with build-in Compositing CrossFire Engine, therefore there are nomore master/salve card. With the build-in engine, the die size is similar to R580+ although it has less pinelines than R580. Radeon X1950Pro is expected to be available in mid October, and priced between $199 and $249.

ATi scheduled to release Radeon X1950XTX, the new top model, in late Aug. The new chip, codenamed R580+, has no difference with R580 in term of design, production process, and clock speed, but featured at GDDR4 support. It keeps 16 Pixel Shader pinelines, 48 Pixel Shader processors, and 256Bit memory controller; and manufactured by TSMC with 90nm process and clocked at 650MHz. Features at GDDR4 memory, it’s the first card stepped into the era of 2GHz DDR. The price is set at $399.

aha tek sam sad vidio da ima 2Ghz, a zašto je tako niska cijena x1950xtx??????? Koliko će bit kod nas onda????

ATi plans one more SKU for the end of the summer. The launch date is still scheduled for 23rd and the card is yet again based on the R580+ core. It won’t be the top notch Radeon X1900 XTX or Crossfire edition, we are talking about a Radeon X1950 XT card.

Radeon X1950 XT will have 256MB of memory and should also work at a 2.0GHz frequency. It will use the fastest GDDR 4 memory and will naturally use a 256 bit interface. This card will likely be ATi's answer to the very sucessful Geforce 7900 GT series and should be in the same price range.

ATi plans to keep the X1900 XT alive when it launches the new X1950 XTX and XT cards. Despite the marginal performance difference it won’t get rid of the X1900 XTX and XT cards at once. It will sell them side by side with X1950 cards until supplies last and we are sure ATi has to drop the price of the X1900 cards to keep selling them.

X1950 XTX will be set at an aggressive €399, so it won't be easy to sell the remaining X1900 XTX cards but as we said before the performance difference is only seven per cent. ATi plans to keep both 256 and 512MB versions until it completely gets rid of them and replaces them at some later date.

DailyTech has received early benchmarks of ATi's upcoming Radeon X1950XTX and X1950 CrossFire graphics cards. ATi’s upcoming Radeon X1950XTX and X1950 CrossFire is expected to make its debut on August 23rd. Specifications for the Radeon X1950XTX and X1950 CrossFire are finalized with a 650 MHz core clock and 2 GHz effective memory clock. The core clock is unchanged from the previous Radeon X1900XTX while memory clock receives a hefty 550 MHz boost. This time around the Radeon X1950XTX and X1950 CrossFire are equipped with 90nm Samsung GDDR4 memory.

The benchmarks compare ATi’s Radeon X1950XT in CrossFire against NVIDIA’s Quad SLi. The test setup used for NVIDIA’s Quad SLI is a Dell XPS 700 system equipped with an Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800, 1GB of DDR2-800 memory and two GeForce 7950GX2 graphics cards for four total GPUs.

The main difference between the X1950XTX and the X1900XTX lies in the faster Memory clock speed of the GDDR4 Memory used on the X1950XTX. Memory bandwidth improves by about 33% from 750MHz to 1000MHz, according to clock speeds. The cooler is fully copper throughout, including the fins. There is a heat pipe extended from the copper base to aid and speed up heat transfer over to the fins.

The X1950XTX is 24% faster than the X1900XTX in 3DMark 05 and 33% faster in 3DMark 06. However, compared against the 7950GX2, the X1950XTX is 11% slower in 3DMark 05 and 20% slower in 3DMark 06. If 3D Mark is your cup of tea, the X1950XTX may not look as appealing as the 7950GX2. Overall, the X1950XTX is about 20% faster than the 7950GX2 at 1600x1200 with 16xAF and no AA. Even with 4xAA turned on, the X1950XTX is still the winner.

ATi is set to introduce its new fall graphics card refresh in the form of the Radeon X1950XTX, Radeon X1950 CrossFire and Radeon X1900XT 256MB tomorrow, August 23rd, 2006. The new Radeon X1950 series cards will have 650 MHz core clocks as the previous X1900XTX graphics cards. Memory has been upgraded to GDDR4 clocked at 2 GHz instead of the previous 1.45 GHz on the Radeon X1900XTX.

ATi’s Radeon X1900XT 256MB will also launch the same day and fill the void between the Radeon X1900GT and Radeon X1900XT 512MB. All three new Radeon cards will have the same 48-pixel shaders as previous X1900 cards. The new cards are also fully HDCP compliant too. ATi has also performed internal testing of single card performance of the X1950XTX and shows minor improvements over the Radeon X1900XT.
