This release of Catalyst™ introduces an enhancement to the Catalyst Control Center Information Center. Full Hardware information will be shown for each physical graphics accelerator installed in the system.
Support for new Linux operating systems

This release of ATI Catalyst™ Linux introduces preview support for the following new operating systems:
Ubuntu 8.04 production support
SLED 10 sp2 production support
Performance Improvements

The following performance gains are noticed with this release of Catalyst™.
3DMark Vantage: Performance increases of up to 20% is noticed in the Performance Preset on single card configured systems when using ATI Radeon™ HD 36xx or ATI Radeon™ HD 34xx products
Company of Heroes DX10: Performance increases of 3% to 12% is noticed in specific maps on single card configured systems when using either an ATI Radeon™ HD 48xx, ATI Radeon ™ HD 38xx, or an ATI Radeon™ HD 36xx product
Lost Planet DX10: Performance increases of 4% to 15% is noticed in specific maps on single card configured systems when using either an ATI Radeon™ HD 48xx, ATI Radeon™ HD 38xx, or an ATI Radeon™ HD 36xx product
Call Of Duty 4 DX9: Performance increases of up to 4% in specific maps is noticed on single card configured systems when using an ATI Radeon™ HD 48xx product

@ stopalo9 ispričavam se na malom , imam samo jedno pitanje. vidim da imaš powercolorove pcs dvije u cfx, trenutno sam u potrazi za još jednom 3870PCS, pa bih ih isto upario. zanima me samo ako možeš ukratko samo napisati kakvi su dojmovi sa dotičnom verzijom u CFX, jel imaš problema sa driverima, jel isplativ pomak u performansama (obzirom da su oko 1000kn sada), kako se OC-aju? ja ne bih stavljao neki drugi hladnjak, sve bi ostalo stock, tako da sam pripremljen na buku, ali ne smeta, bitno da hladi.

još jednom, ispričavam se za OT, nigdje nisam našo na netu kombinaciju dotične grafe u CFX, pa da se na ovaj način informiram.

Imam 8.4 i sve mi super radi pa ne znam bili nadogradjivao.

nema potrebe za čistom instalacijom windowsa(hehe, to bi bilo veselo, obzirom da jednom mjesečno izlaze novi driveri).

prvo odi na add/remove u windowsima, tamo pobriši drivere, restartaj komp(ne preporučam safe mode, meni je shebalo instalaciju novih drivera). pokreneš driver cleaner(googlaj, ima za skinut ako ga već nemaš, drivercleaner.net preporučam, ima i drukčija verzija), sa njime počistiš drivere. onda će te (možda) tražit restart, i onda instaliraš nove drivere.
tako ja radim, a pretpostavljam i večina drugih.

u pravilu, ak ti sve radi kak treba, nema potrebe za nove drivere, al ne može škodit. ak imaš problema sa novim driverima, vratiš se na stare, istim postupkom.


EDIT: Obzirom da imaš HD3850, preporučam ti nove drivere, od verzije 8.4 su dosta toga riješili s njima i poboljšali performanse.

pa i ne baš 8,4 radi, i ne šteka ti nijedana igra dok s 8,7 ljudi imaju problema...osim ako želiš malo veči skor u 3dmarku...

ok, ja se ravnam po Release Notes, 8.6 je kolko se sječam donio poprilično bolje performanse za hd38xx seriju. to je u teoriji, a kako je u praksi, ne znam.
uglavnom, dok ne proba, neće znat. ja nisam imao problema sa catalystima još od svoje 9000PRO, preko 9600XT, a tako ni sa novim driverima i ovom karticom, dok će neko drugi imat problema sa svakom mogućom verzijom.

niš ga ne košta stavit novo, pa ako ne valjaju, lako se vrati na staro.

Još je 8.7 beta imala crossfire profil za Grid, ja igram sa 4xMSAA i nemam nikakav pad fpsa .

Ja zadnja dva puta nisam čak ni deinstalirao stari driver, samo preko njega instaliram novi. I sve pet.

Odma me prebacilo na najnizu rezoluciju i ponudilo restart.
Install nvih i restart i odma je nastimalo na rezoluciju kaj sam prije imao.

da, nije da je driver cleaner neophodan, nigdje se ne navodi da ga se mora koristit, al ne škodi. znaju od starih drivera ostat fajlovi neki, pa ih novi driveri ne pregaze, pa dolazi do problema.
al opet se vraćam na isto, ak sve štima kak treba, nema potrebe mijenjat rutinu. neki ne mijenjaju drivere mjesecima, pa im sve štima.ja (kao i još neki pojedinci ovdje) imam tu bolest da driveri moraju bit uvijek najnoviji. a patcheve za igricu tražim i skidam prije neg što uopće nabavim igricu

I dalje na gridu sa cat 8.7 po nekad iznenada padne fps na 2-3 i stoji 10tak sekundi i opet ochepi?!? Samo kad stavim AA na vise od 2X. HD3870 je u pitanju.

Lol, otkad su se ATi i Blizzard skompali? Dobio sam pri instalaciji drivera ponudu za WoW Trial na 10 dana

@ santos -> Mislim da onaj lik koji radi na Omeginim driverima se sad fokusirao na Nvidiu samo... Tako da Omegini driveri nisu bazirani na novijim ATi driverima. (Ispravite me ako sam u krivu)

sastavljam klincu jednom komp sa hd4850 unutra, ali kućište baš i nema nekog jakog provjetravanja pa se bojim da mu grijanje kartice ne bude problem.

Uzmi mu neki custom vent i nema problema, da se ne zahebavaš sa onim mijenjanjem profile fajlova.

ok, još jedna stvar, vidim da se mogu priključit dva molex priključka tako da se popuni svih 6 pinova na napajanju grafičke, dali je potrebno priključivat dva molex kabela na onaj adapter ili je dovoljan samo jedan? nigdje u uputama ne piše.
znam da nije tema za to ali da ne postam na 100 mjesta..

Nemam pojma, ja sam kod sebe popunio oba molexa.

Za ventove neznam dal se kaj mijenjalo "samo od sebe", ali uvijek možeš napravit profil kao i prije, pa malo ubrzat vent..

i sam znaš da ovi novi radeki puno više troše tak da samo ti popuni sve i nemaš brige..
