They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. IMHO, ukoliko mu je opcija, jer izvedivo je sigurno, pretvoril bi tu Windows OS mašinu u VHD(X)/VMDK ili neki drugi popularni format za virtualne mašine i na taj način unutar Linuxa upogonil kamere.

Iako je bolja opcija to da proba wine ili, kako reče izopćeni, sve u VM i mirna bosna. Time se postiže da je ta mašina skroz izolirana od svega, maltene u karanteni.
Ako sam dobro shvatio znaci RoboLinux ili neki drugi i onda imam mogucnost stavit W10 u virtualci na tom kompu? Dobro, to bi rijesilo problem/mogucnost da zumiram live sliku na kameri i krecem se po vidnom polju ali gdje ce se spremati snimke/fajlovi? Ako se spremaju "u toj virualci" dali sa drugog linux kompa u mrezi mogu do tih snimaka? Dali je moguce da se snimke pokretane programom iz virtualke spremaju izvan nje na taj linux komp i onda prepostavljam da nebih imao nikakvih problema sa master kompa ( isto linux ) na taj "doc po snimke" radi gledanja ili obrade itd...

Prije nekih 15-tak dana sam na jedan laptop stavljao Zorin OS iz znatizelje i vidio sam nesto da se u njemu mogu pokretati windows aplikacije uz nesto ali nisam detaljnije proucavao jer slabo je radio taj OS na core 2 duo laptopu sa 4GB rama, mislim radilo je ali cpu je skakao stalno 70-90% kod sufranja sto me nije ni zacudilo jer je laptop iz 2009 godine sa cpu koji ide do ~1,8GHz pa sam ga maknio i na kraju se ispostavilo da windows 8.1 sa Open Shell + Mozilla "fork" radi odlicno.

Za pocetak mislim da cu probat taj Zorin OS jer sve ostalo sto sam vidio u njemu mi je OK, ono sto ja koristim trebalo bi raditi. Sreca nisam gejmer
Inace, ovaj komp za videonadzor ipak je pretrpio iliti dobio neka systemska ostecenja. Sam system tj C particija nije nista kriptirano ali sam nasao par .txt datoteka sa ovim sadrzajem:

Izgleda da je usao kroz SMB port a ako se ne varam u razmisljanju enkripcija HDD je bila moguca jer nije imao bas nikakvu zastitu i bio je sheran everyone na mrezi.
Sve ostale kompove u kuci sa preskenirao sa vise alata i srecom cisto sve a sam beckup je poseban HDD na koji 2-3 puta godisnje stavljam image particija ili ssd-a cjelog.

E sad ovaj komp za wideonadzor je ocito nesto systemski mrezno ostecen jer me napadaju iz Pakistana, China, Indija, US itd... iako sam sve te IP adrese blokirao sa FW svakih 1-2-3h iskoci nova IP adresa. Sa mreze prema ostatku kuce je otkacen.



Dakle nema druge nego format pa probat sa Linuxom...

Ako napraviš baš virtualku, s recimo QEMU, onda je najlakše sherati lokaciju između hosta i guesta. However, nisam siguran sada dok mi mozak radi na dva cilindra, možda tri, koje su implikacije po ransomware sigurnost.

Međutoa, po meni najjednostavnije i najsigurnije rješenje za taj problem bi moglo biti da u VM staviš nešto kao jellyfin koji će onda na lokalnoj mreži učiniti te video snimke dostupnima za gledanje. Možda ima neka jednostavnija aplikacija za slično. Samo jednostavan HTTP server bi vjerojatno isto bio OK.

Ali, ako ti već imašu tu low power mašinu za svrhu snimanja, onda možda najbolje to pustiti tako kako je? Samo na nju staviš, recimo, onda taj HTTP server, i na lokalnoj mreži učiniš dostupne video snimke. To je po meni pozavidan nivo izolacije. A šansa da ti na to računalo dodje neki ransomware je i tako nula.

Ako je ta mašina na neki način izložena napadima izvana, pa najbolje neka bude permanento offline i problem riješen? Možda biš trebao razmisliti o nekom ozbiljnijem firewalu da zaštitiš mrežu.

Ja ti predlažem da koristiš MX Linux AHS XFCE edition. To se meni pokazalo kao stvarno odlično rješenje, jako user friendly, napravili su čuda konfiguracijski alata, ima dva control panela, stvarno dobro, bazirano na debianu. Mislim da je to momentalno top izbor za nove korisnike.

Ransomware je ransomware - ako Windows vidi i ima pristup share-u i zarazi se > zaraze se i datoteke na share-u. Tak da u tom slucaju od Linuxa nema koristi. OSIM ako Linux radi backup tih podataka na EXT4 particiju koja Windowsu nije vidljiva pa je veca sansa da jos ulovis nekompromitirane podatke. Al mislim da je to prekomplicirano za ovu namjenu. Windows > pamet u glavu > backup na 2 lokacije (jedan mjesecno, jedan tjedno) i sve skenirat.

Virtualka ne rješava ništa jer mora biti u bridge modu kako bi izvana mogao pristupiti shareu, a to mu dođe na isto kao da ima još jedan fizički komp, samo će si zakomplicirati situaciju. Treba osigurati postojeću mašinu firewallom ili drugim VLAN-om ili nekim drugim načinom jer cilj je izbjeći otvoren SMB prema svima, obavezno koristiti SMB v3. Ako će dizati HTTP server koji sigurno ima svoje rupe, onda isto tako može napraviti i read only share. Može zatvoriti i sve incoming portove, ostaviti tipa samo RustDesk pa ima sliku, ton i copy/paste unutra/van.

The WantToCry ransomware group, active since December 2023, has intensified its operations in 2024, targeting multiple network services, including:

U ovom slučaju, ne bi mu pomogao ni Linux jer bi sigurno koristio i neki od dotičnih servisa za pristup mašini. Znači nema druge nego napraviti zero trust policy, firewall na deny all, odvojene accounte, applocker itd. i raditi redovan backup.

Nebitno za ovaj i svaki ransomware slučaj, malware je uletio preko lokalne mreže.

Znači nema druge nego napraviti zero trust policy, firewall na deny all, odvojene accounte, applocker itd. i raditi redovan backup.
Ovo je po meni uvijek najbolji pristup sa sigurnosnog stajalista.

Ja recimo doma na svojim kompovima imam samo defender, ali gđa ima i dodatne zaštite.

Pa mami sam npr napravio usera bez admin prava da me ne zove više svaki tj kad nešto sjebe.

A nisam nista dodatno ukljucivao, difolt W11 je na svim kompovima/laptopima u kuci, zapravo 2 laptopa su na W10 ali nista oko SMB postavki nisam dodatno ukljucio.

Oboje se kunu u sve moguce svece i bogove da nisu dozivjeli nista sumljivo u zadnjih tjedan dana ali znalo je biti situacija gdje zena gleda filmove po raznim stranicama te iako ima ublock origin nekako uspije poklikat tamo gdje ne treba no uvijek je to bilo da joj poiskacu reklame ili redirect na neku glupost itd...

Mali nije bas tako "mali, mali" radi i iskljucivo kupuje igrice preko steama itd... prije 6/7 godina je doso dolje u "moju radionu" i veli nesto mi komp steka, odem i preskeniram 20-tak razno raznih trojanaca i koje cega a sve od patchera, crack i slicno sto je njemu naravno trebalo za igrice, od onda kupuje od djeparca a sada od plaće i tu ne popustam ni milimetar, ako ces nesto instalirati a da nije original onda si plati posebni internet prikljucak ili selidba.

Pitanje prvo je: da li ta reolink mašina mora biti na internetima? Ovisno o odgovoru puno se toga mijenja.
A mora bas radi kamera, da je samo taj HDD sa multimedijom onda nije problem, ne treba tu internet.
Kamere su oko kuce 500m dalje i tu imam 5GHz link na ovu kucu i lokalno ne trebam internet ali ako odemo od kuce na dan/dva itd... onda preko moba ili laptopa pogledam jel ima cega.

Nebitno za ovaj i svaki ransomware slučaj, malware je uletio preko lokalne mreže.
Mislim da ipak je bitno. Ne razumijem čemu toliko kompliciranja, ako je na jednoj mašini došlo to sranje, puno je vjerojatnije da je upalo baš na tu mašinu umjesto da se sa neke druge preko lokalne mreže i x protokola proširilo na ostale a onda iz nekog čudnog razloga samo na toj jednoj ostavilo traga i počelo enkriptirati fajlove. Možda ciljaju baš video fajlove, ali vjerujem da na mreži i x računala ima raznih videa koliko hoćeš.

Kako se spajaš na to računalo izvana?
Ne spajam se uopce! Spajam se mobom ili laptopom sa Reolink aplikacijom direktno na kamere a ako nisam/o kod kuce vise dana onda samo preusmjerim snimanje na SD kartice u kamerama i komp je ugasen. Znaci ako ja sam nisam kod kuce vise dana, ostavim komp za snimanje ukljucen i zena moze pregledat snimke a ja uzivo pogledam kad mi se sprdne... ako svi nismo doma ili je mali sam onda taj komp ugasim i preusmjerim snimanje na SD karticu i po potrebi mogu skinut klip itd...

Bas radi sigurnosti nisam htio sloziti da se tom kompu moze pristupiti izvana.
Prvo sam samo snimao na SD karticu a onda reko koja korist ako mi kakva lopina odnese kameru zajedno sa karticom

Bilo je kradje drva kod susjeda a ko za vraga ja uvijek imam jedno 40-tak m2 na lageru jer kad mi dosadno ja u drva. Onda sam slozio taj komp da mi snima i lokalno pa reko makar cu imati snimku prije putovanja kamere u neciju torbu.
Jednu kameru ( 2 snimaju ono bitno ) sam uspio pozicionirati samo da snima ove 2 bitne i ta je vizualno sakrivena/maskirana. Bilo je sumljivih setnji van ograde pa navirivanje preko ograde ali imam 2 IR reflektora i to se u mraku dobro istice u vidu crvenih tocki/svijetla pa kada sumljivci skuze da je tu nesto - samo produze ko fol dalje. Vecinom Indijanci setaju.

They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting f*cked by a system that threw them overboard 30 f*cking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money.
