the investigation has continued in collaboration with external experts and with the full involvement of my (now former) shared hosting provider.
According to the analysis provided by the security experts, the attack involved infrastructure-level compromise that allowed malicious actors to intercept and redirect update traffic destined for notepad-plus-plus.org. The exact technical mechanism remains under investigation, though the compromise occured at the hosting provider level rather than through vulnerabilities in Notepad++ code itself. Traffic from certain targeted users was selectively redirected to attacker-controlled served malicious update manifests.

When Google's Threat Analysis Group uncovered unusual network activity rippling across millions of internet-connected devices, something didn't add up. The traffic patterns didn't match typical malware signatures. Instead, what they found looked more like a massive distributed relay system: millions of private phones, computers, and smart home devices quietly moving data for someone else. That someone, Google now says, was a Chinese company called IPIDEA.
The discovery triggered what Google is calling the largest residential proxy network takedown in history. Armed with a federal court order, the company pulled the plug on the web domains and backend infrastructure that held the whole operation together. In one coordinated move, Google killed a network that had been humming along for years, largely invisible to the device owners it was exploiting.

mene zanima, u svijetu gdje je sve enkriptirano, svaki prijenos podataka je iza keyeva i certifikata, kako on dolazi do tih podataka?

A url nije enkriptiran, dovoljan ti je url/ip za 90% tog sto njih zanima. Ti kad posjetis p0rnhub i viagra.com, to se vrlo lako vidi i njemu dovoljno.

To nebi smili vidit, to bi TREBALO biti enrkirptirano ako se koristi HTTPS, što sigunrno mogu vidit je IP addresa 100%, SNI(TLD) ili ti hostname url 90%, i neke metapodatke kao kolicina prometa vrijeme i slicno. Sami podatci bi trebali bit signurni ako nije neki sofisticirani "napad" u pitanju kao man in the middle da starlink ima trusted certifikat instaliran ali mislim da su male sanse za to, iako nikad ne znas, never trust anyone

pa osobno ne virujem nikome, zato se i mislim.
Jer zašto bi to uopće navodio kao bitnu stavku, to je praktički "javna informacija", IP adresa i URL-ovi pozvani.

Kontakt podatke i detalje (kreditne) kartice svakak imaju, jer ljudi moraju na neki način platiti uslugu i dostavu hardvera, a sve ostalo kaj se navodi u članku također skupljaju i prije, nego su izbacili ova nova pravila i uvjete korištenja, tek toliko da se (dodatno) pravno ograde. Ista stvar i za bajne eJaJ implementacije i asistente, pa je svaki korisnički upit, zapravo vlasništvo određene AI firme, a ukoliko netko nađe lijek za rak koristeći eJaJ, jasno im je dano na znanje da oni kao korisnik nisu ti koji će to rješenje i unovčiti. Uglavnom, već svima dobro poznata priča u kojoj krajnji korisnici nisu vlasnici ničega, dok na mjesečnoj pretplati omogućuju da se njihovi podaci preprodaju i koriste kako god neka firma odluči da je nabolje za firmu.

The documents provide smoking-gun evidence that Meta, Google, Snap, and TikTok all purposefully designed their social media products to addict children and teens with no regard for known harms to their wellbeing, and how that mass youth addiction was core to the companies’ business models. The documents contain internal discussions among company employees, presentations from internal meetings, expert testimony, and evidence of Big Tech coordination with tech-funded groups, including the National Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), in attempts to control the narrative in response to concerned parents.
