Kad budu prve recenzije?

Mogle bi biti već sljedeći tjedan, ali IMHO 29. - 30.07. najkasnije, kad novi modeli 31.07. idu u prodaju. Svi recenzenti već tjedan dana imaju cijelu Zen 5 ponudu.

Dućani diljem svijeta su dobili zalihe, aktualne AM5 ploče imaju BIOS-e, dok Zen 5 3D modeli stižu u rujnu skupa s "novim" 800 serija čipset pločama.

Da, službeno nisu ništa rekli za cijene, ali od Computexa je već krenulo malo, po malo, pa su kojekakvi distributeri slagali cjenike. Cifre su bile slične Zen 4 ponudi u vrijeme kad je Ryzen 7000 serija izlazila. Ništ, budemo i to pričekali, makar kak god se okrene cijene ne bi trebale biti više od svojevremeno Zen 4 MSRP.

A neće im to biti dobro, pogotovo ako jeftiniji 7800X3D i 9700X budu egal.
Tim misli da ne žele kanibalizirati zen4, misli da bi cijene možda mogle biti niže za zen5.
Ja se nadam da će biti tako, zen4 malo dole i zen5 na ove mrvu veće ili jednake od trenuntnih za zen4. No dobro, brzo će to.

Inače me najviše zanima kako će im funkcionirati ovo čudo sa auto podesivom memorijom.

Je, svi Zen 4 modeli su već fino otišli dolje cijenom, tak da budu nekaj morali iskombinirati za Zen 5.

Komentirali smo to već u nebrojeno navrata i napomenul sam ti da komotno možeš isključiti sve kaj ne trebaš. I/O ne skalira ko CCD s manjim procesom, mogu oni I/O dio složiti na manjem proizvodnom procesu, ali opet ne bude imalo efekta. Intel također za Lunar Lake koristi 3nm TSMC chiplet/tile i 6nm za SoC dio. Arrow Lake i sve kaj slijedi nakon toga, a bazirano bude na chiplet dizajnu, koristi sličan princip.

I opet, neovisno o tome, koliko se može skužiti porast performansi za Zen 5 bude sasvim solidan uz manju potrošnju i zagrijavanje.

Ti kužiš da nemaju svi memoriju iz praška ko ti?

Dakle ti imaš budget k plus memoriju (ne ulazim u tvoje potrebe i korištenje). Na 6000MT il više (što sam AMD navodi ko sweet point), to govno troši da bi radilo 30W, dakle samo IO dio, i to u idle.
Razlika tunirane memorije je ogromna za moje potrebe.

I intel je ciganska firma također, al za razliku od AMD s 6000MT+ memorijom intel ide u idle na ispod 10W, tvoj procesor je na tvom SCREENSHOTU min 36W.

markec prošli smo sve te rasprave već prije više od godinu i pol, meni ta I/O, SoC i CPU općenita potrošnja nije nikakav problem, a u tzv. idle stanju CPU u mojem slučaju vrti tri virtualne mašine u pozadini uz upaljen iGPU, a SoC, tj. I/O dio je u prosjeku na 15W, dok cijeli CPU paket troši tih 36W i mada imam mogućnosti u BIOS-u, realno nemam nikakve potrebe isključiti čuda tehnike da ušparam 10W ili 15W. Kaj se Intela tiče, sve je to lijepo i krasno sad kad su još na monolitnim izdanjima, ali Lunar i Arrow Lake uvode chiplet/tile i sve nakon njih ide tim istim "problematičnim" AMD putem kad i u Intel slučaju, TSMC ne može nešto previše napraviti po pitanju I/O skaliranja, zato je i kod njih išla slična kombinacija, gdje I/O ostaje na 6nm, dok jezgre idu na 3nm. Ništ, budemo lijepo pričekali jesen da vidimo kaj su pripremili.

Ja budem pričekal da se nakon Ryzen 9 9950X recenzija slegne prašina, tj. da kojima slučajem ne ispadne kak se čudo voli samozapaliti

i tome slična veselja. I kasnije onda ovisno o situaciji lako presložim (jedan) sadašnji backup komp (Ryzen 5 7600 + MSI B650 Tomahawk Wi-Fi + 128GB DDR5-5600 Faks Helizim Edition) na Zen 5, ako se pokaže da su performanse u skladu s ovim kaj kruži Internetima nakon svih tih službenih predstavljanja.

AMD Granite Ridge and Strix Point Zen 5 die-sizes and transistor counts confirmed

To begin with, "Strix Point" is a monolithic silicon, which is confirmed to be built on the TSMC N4P foundry node (4 nm). This is a slight upgrade over the N4 node that the company built its previous generation "Phoenix" and "Hawk Point" processors on. The "Strix Point" silicon measures 232.5 mm˛ in area, which is significantly larger than the 178 mm˛ of "Hawk Point" and "Phoenix." The added die area comes from there being 12 CPU cores instead of 8, and 16 iGPU compute units instead of 12; and a larger NPU. There are many other factors, such as the larger 24 MB CPU L3 cache; and the sizes of the "Zen 5" and "Zen 5c" cores themselves.

The "Granite Ridge" desktop processor is a chiplet-based processor, much like the Ryzen 7000 "Raphael." AMD is confirmed to be reusing the 6 nm client I/O die (cIOD) from "Raphael." This chip measures 122 mm˛, and packs 3.4 billion transistors. For reference, the cIOD of Ryzen 5000 "Vermeer" and Ryzen 3000 "Matisse" is built on the Global Foundries 12 nm node, measures a similar 125 mm˛, but with a much lower transistor count of 2.09 billion. The key contributor to the transistor count increase is the tiny iGPU that the Socket AM5 cIOD comes with. It may have just 1 workgroup processor (2 CU), but comes with the same display engines and media engines as the iGPU on APUs.

And now, onto the CPU complex dies (CCDs), the key area of silicon innovation for AMD desktop processors. The 8-core "Zen 5" CCD is codenamed "Eldora," and is built on the 4 nm foundry node. The HardwareLuxx.de report says that this the same N4P node as "Strix Point," but we've heard several other credible sources claiming that it is the more advanced N4X node, which favors high frequencies. The "Zen 5" CCD has a transistor count of 8.315 billion, which is a significant increase over the 6.5 billion of "Durango," the 8-core CCD based on "Zen 4," powering "Raphael."

What's most interesting is that this staggering 28% increase in transistor counts from the "Zen 4" Durango CCD and "Zen 5" Eldora CCD comes at a die-area decrease of 0.5%. That's right, the "Zen 5" CCD measures 70.6 mm˛, whereas the "Zen 4" CCD is 71 mm˛. The "Zen 4" CCD is built on TSMC N5 (5 nm), which goes to show the tremendous leap in transistor densities achieved from the switch to N4P (or N4X). A maxed out Ryzen 9 9950X processor hence has a total transistor count of 20.03 billion, while the single-CCD Ryzen 7 9700X has a transistor count of 11.715 billion. AMD Ryzen 9000 series goes on sale from July 31, 2024.

Evo gledam 7900x je ajmo reci isto danas kao onda kad sam ga sebi uzeo tek kad je izasao.. ako ne i.skupljii eek
Promjenio sam ga, uzeo 7600x , ista prica..

Gledam sada su dosli zen5 , a zen 4 nije nista posebno snizen..
A zen 5 s obzirom na performanse je bas ono skup s obzirom na ponudu..

Svejedno mozda i uzmem 9800x3d ako izadje i naleti neka akcija, ili jos bolje vrebam 7800x3d u nekoj ludoj rasprodaji, jer cijenu ce drzat opet sljedece 2 godine, s obzirom na nedostatak konkurencije..
Uzivas u novom bez bitnog rizika tj uz minimalne gubitke prilikom sljedece nadogradnje

AMD to reportedly become TSMC's next major customer in Arizona — HPC AI chips could start US production in 2025

AMD is set to produce high-performance chips at TSMC’s new Arizona fab, making it the second high-profile client for the fab after Apple. Independent journalist Tim Culpan reports that sources close to the matter confirmed the agreement today, though TSMC declined to comment. TSMC Fab 21, located near Phoenix, Arizona, has begun trial production on its 5nm node, a process node family that includes the N4/N4P/N4X and N5/N5P/N5X processes.

However, the chip(s) that AMD plans to produce at Fab 21 is currently unknown. According to sources, production is currently in planning, with tape-out and manufacturing of the chip both set to happen in Arizona starting next year. Fab 21's Phase 1 is limited to the N4 and N5 technologies, barring the possibility of any consumer chips newer than RDNA 3 and Zen 4. AMD's enterprise AI chips in the CDNA 3 family powering Instinct MI300-series accelerators are a likely suspect. The MI325X, due to release in Q4 2024, is on the N4 node, while the upcoming MI350 will be on TSMC's N3. Arizona could be the place where the MI325X is manufactured after its initial production waves. It must be said that this is a speculative take; AMD could decide to produce a yet-unannounced AI or mobile chip at Fab 21 instead.

AMD's HPC chips that are manufactured in Arizona must, at first, be shipped overseas for packaging. However, the recent agreement between Amkor and TSMC to team up for advanced packaging in Arizona will more firmly entrench an AI chip supply chain in the U.S. Amkor's $2 billion Arizona chip test and packaging facility, currently under construction and expected to begin production as soon as 2026, will be permitted to use TSMC's patented CoWoS and InFO packaging technologies, allowing AI and HPC chips to be packaged more completely in the U.S. GPUs specifically rely on CoWoS tech to connect with their high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips. Amkor began construction on its Arizona fab counting on TSMC to become its major customer, but the agreement to work with the patented CoWoS technology is still a happy surprise for many.

The potential AMD/TSMC agreement is momentous for both U.S. interests and TSMC. TSMC's Arizona fab has made many headlines since 2023 over various troubles it has encountered during its construction, mostly surrounding labor disputes between American and Taiwanese workers and leadership. The recent Apple production yields and today's AMD news will do much to increase faith in Fab 21. And the United States' significant financial backing ($6.6 billion in grants and up to $5 billion in loans) behind Fab 21 now appears to have a solid return on investment incoming, as AMD and TSMC will become pioneers in establishing a solid AI/HPC chip production supply chain stateside.

AMD is seemingly planning a huge CES 2025 show, where it should present six product lineups. These include upcoming mobile and handheld processors and Radeon 8000 GPUs. AMD will announce a heap of products at CES 2025 next January. These include upcoming Kraken Point, Strix Halo, and Fire Range processors, Z2 series of handheld chips, next-gen Radeon GPUs, and more Ryzen 9000X3D desktop CPUs.

Kraken Point is a power-efficient design that combines the brand’s Zen 5 and Zen 5c cores with an RDNA 3.5 integrated GPU. Though these chips are destined to power thin and light notebooks/laptops, gaming handhelds aren’t totally out. Its four Zen 5 plus four Zen 5c cores and eight RDNA 3.5 compute units should be enough for most tasks, including some gaming. There is even a 50 TOPS XDNA 2 NPU to satisfy those Copilot+ requirements, which is understandable as this APU will go up against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X.

Strix Halo is a much beefier design rumoured to power the upcoming Ryzen AI Max APU lineup. It’s expected to house up to 16 Zen 5 cores on the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 model, alongside a massive 40 RDNA 3.5 compute unit iGPU. Not to forget the XDNA 2 NPU for that growing AI demand. With such horsepower, we can anticipate high graphic performance, similar to dedicated GPUs. To be specific, we are talking about performance above an RX 7600, which packs 32 RDNA 3 compute units. Ryzen AI Max series will support up to 96GB of video memory, allowing even VRAM-heavy workstation tasks.

Fire Range is pretty much desktop Ryzen 9000, but for mobile devices. This means that all models are likely paired with discrete GPUs, as integrated solutions are too small to do any substantial work. Leaks suggest these CPUs will use the same FL1 BGA package as Dragon Range, simplifying motherboard designs. Regarding CPU performance, Fire Range should be on par with Strix Halo as both use Zen 5 cores. That said, the former is expected to take less power – between 55W and 75W due to the lack of a sizable iGPU. With that in mind, the Fire Range has an ace up its sleeve in the form of 3D V-Cache. Yep, like its desktop counterpart, this series is also rumoured to offer X3D variants housing up to 128MB of cache. Coupled with a strong mobile GPU, this could become the go-to solution for those searching for maximum gaming performance.

Z2 lineup supposedly comprises three models: Z2G, Z2, and Z2 Extreme. The first seems to be the slowest of the bunch, with its eight Zen 3+ cores and 12 RDNA 2 compute units (CUs). The second looks identical to the existing Z1 Extreme powering the ROG Ally and Legion Go. As for the third, it’s a next-gen handheld flagship that aims to become the new go-to chip for handheld machines thanks to its eight Zen 5 cores and 16 RDNA 3.5 CUs.

Radeon 8000 – or whatever it ends up being called – is AMD’s next-gen GPU series. Based on RDNA 4 architecture, these chips mark a change in the brand’s strategy. According to the rumours we have, Radeon 8000 will not feature any high-end models, though not for lack of consideration. In other words, there will only be low- and mid-range models, giving nVidia the freedom to do as it pleases in the enthusiast space. Currently, early specs point towards Radeon 8000 carrying up to 48 CUs, putting its potential performance near the RX 7900 XTX. That said, pricing should be lower, reminding us of the Radeon RX 400/500 series, which offered great value for gamers.

Ryzen 9000X3D is AMD’s answer to gamers unsatisfied with Ryzen 9000X performance. Packing an extra (64MB) layer of cache on top of the compute die, Ryzen 9000X3D – specifically the Ryzen 9800X3D – may become the new hotness. The brand even hinted at some changes to its 3D V-Cache design, which could mean even higher performance. Ryzen 9950X3D and 9900X3D models are headed for CES, indicating that the 9800X3D is likely the one AMD plans to unveil on November 7.

AMD's strong EPYC & Ryzen CPU portfolio has led to the company gaining its record revenue and unit share as per the latest report by Mercury Research. 2024 has been a blast for AMD, with a strong continued portfolio of EPYC & Ryzen CPUs based on the x86 architecture and the unveiling of its next-generation families based on the Zen 5 processor architecture. On the server side, AMD's market share increased from 23.3% (Q3 2023) to 24.2% (Q3 2024) while the revenue increased to 33.9% versus 31.2% in the prior year. Now the most interesting thing is that this share only amounts to the sales of the existing Zen 4-based EPYC portfolio, such as Genoa, Bergamo, and Sienna. The company's EPYC 9005 "Turin" family was launched this quarter & since it offers a disruptive performance, TCO, and efficiency, we can expect further upticks in the shares and revenue moving forward.

On the desktop side, the AMD x86 "Ryzen" market share grew significantly from 19.2% in 2023 to 28.7%. Even compared to last quarter when the share was 23.0%, this is a significant update. The result is due to a strong portfolio of Ryzen offerings covering the entry-level and high-end desktop segments. The Ryzen X3D offerings in particular are the bestsellers among major retailers worldwide. With the launch of the Ryzen 9000 and the latest 9800X3D, we can see AMD continue to mount up its unit and revenue share.

Finally, on the mobile side, AMD saw a share gain of 22.3% and a revenue gain of 19.2%, up from 20.3% and 17.7% in Q2 2024, respectively. AMD's Ryzen AI 300 APUs also offer a strong suite of performance and AI features, especially the graphics portion, which has been incredible. Gaming segments such as handhelds are all onboard with the Ryzen AI APU family, and we are seeing more and more products pop up with these chips inside.

AMD’s Zen 6-based Ryzen “Medusa” desktop CPUs to retain AM5 compatibility, eyeing late 2026/early 2027 launch

AMD's next-generation Zen 6-based Ryzen Desktop CPUs will remain compatible with the AM5 socket and launch a few years from now. AMD's Zen 6-based Ryzen CPUs for desktops and servers are reportedly bringing up to 32 cores on a single CCD. This means AMD will introduce the Zen 6 lineup in either Q4 2026 or as early as CES 2027, or possibly a month or two later. If true, it should be a huge relief for PC builders who are investing in the AM5 socket & the respective platforms compared to the LGA 1851 platforms from Intel, about which we don't know if it will only support Arrow Lake or another generation.

It is unclear whether AMD will keep AM5 alive for Zen 7, and it may switch the socket afterward. Till then, AMD will have no problem with memory compatibility as DDR6 isn't coming to PCs before 2027. Nonetheless, as we talked about previously, AMD Zen 6 is the first architecture that will equip CPUs with more cores on a single-core complex Die(CCD). The current max core count on Zen 5 CCD is 8 and 16 on Zen 5C. The core count on the Zen 6 CCD is said to feature 8, 16, and 32 cores, and 32 cores will likely be possible on the Zen 6C CCDs. However, they will still have 16 cores on Zen 6 CCD, which is twice the core count on Zen 4 and Zen 5. There are still 2 years left before we can see Zen 6 in real life and till then, AMD is free to release more Zen 5-based chips, including the X3D CPUs for the AM5 platform.

Iskreno, nemaš neke prevelike brige s ovim 7900X3D, a obzirom da i potencijalno Zen 6 kasnije možeš pripasati na AM5, lako za 7800X3D i 9800X3D.

Da, to sigurno, posebice uz nedostatak konkurencije, sad mogu raditi kaj ih volja, taman da su vagoni puni 9800X3D ispred dućana, opet ne bi bilo dosta.

Nista ja shvatio nisam kako to radi taj bios, i koja je razlika od disejblanja koje i sada mozemo raditi u biosu

Inace ne vidim neke velike potrebe za tim.
Treba samo pripaziti prilikom install amd drivera da onaj amd3dvcacheSvc process je pokrenut , to znaci da je driver ispravno instaliran i tjt. Radi ok.

Ja koristim, s obzirom da volim dodatnu kontrolu, naveliko spominjan app process lasso , super jednostavno - pokrenem igru , odem u taj app i stavim affinity always na 3d cache jezgru i gotovo. Ili ove sistemske i slicne app podesim suprotno na brzu jezgru i gotovo.

The Exiled McG Moj komp Datum registracije: Feb 2014 Lokacija: Varaždin Postovi: 8,049	markec prošli smo sve te rasprave već prije više od godinu i pol, meni ta I/O, SoC i CPU općenita potrošnja nije nikakav problem, a u tzv. idle stanju CPU u mojem slučaju vrti tri virtualne mašine u pozadini uz upaljen iGPU, a SoC, tj. I/O dio je u prosjeku na 15W, dok cijeli CPU paket troši tih 36W i mada imam mogućnosti u BIOS-u, realno nemam nikakve potrebe isključiti čuda tehnike da ušparam 10W ili 15W. Kaj se Intela tiče, sve je to lijepo i krasno sad kad su još na monolitnim izdanjima, ali Lunar i Arrow Lake uvode chiplet/tile i sve nakon njih ide tim istim "problematičnim" AMD putem kad i u Intel slučaju, TSMC ne može nešto previše napraviti po pitanju I/O skaliranja, zato je i kod njih išla slična kombinacija, gdje I/O ostaje na 6nm, dok jezgre idu na 3nm. Treba samo pripaziti prilikom install amd drivera da onaj amd3dvcacheSvc process je pokrenut , to znaci da je driver ispravno instaliran i tjt. Radi ok. Ja koristim, s obzirom da volim dodatnu kontrolu, naveliko spominjan app process lasso , super jednostavno - pokrenem igru , odem u taj app i stavim affinity always na 3d cache jezgru i gotovo. Ili ove sistemske i slicne app podesim suprotno na brzu jezgru i gotovo.
