Da ne otvaramo malo-malo nove, stavit ćemo sve na jedno mjesto.

Evo-najnovija vijest je o tome kako će ATI zvati koji model.

The name of this new card will be X1800, which we have seen on the 'net already today. But the real juice of this bean is that ATI have some more SKUs coming and they will have the following names:

X1800 which is based on the R520 VPU.

X1600 which is their mid range SKU based on RV530.

X1300 is their low-end SKU based on RV515.

Other news we are hearing is that ATI love their GT brand so much there will be the GTO and GTO2 launched very soon. Essentially the GTO is a 12 pipeline GT, and GTO2 is X800XL (16 pipeline GT). They have decided that the XL and 850s will be gone for good. So the new lineup will be X800GT, GTO, GTO2, and their new VPUs.

Još uvijek se čeka neki bench da se vidi kaj te grafe u stvari mogu.
Meni to sve skupa ne izgleda bog-zna-kaj, zato i jesam nestrpljiv da konačno neki site objavi nekaj konkretno.

Obratite pažnju na "512-bit ring bus" memory controller, o tome se laprda već duže vrijema na ATI podforumima i špekulira da li je to još jedna ATI-jeva markentiška provala ili će ipak nečemu poslužiti

Više ovo prvo nego drugo

"The 512-bit internal ring bus actually excites us the most; Cell's Elemental Interface Bus (EIB) uses a 16-byte wide quad ring bus, capable of transferring 16-bytes per cycle to the various SPEs. R520's ring bus would actually be four times wider than the bus found on Cell; though this implementation is in R520's memory controller rather than the PPE-to-SPE interface."

Uostalom, članak je zanimljiv i vrijedi ga pročitati ako vas takve stvari zanimaju.

Kamo su nestala 32 cjevovoda ili barem 24? Valjda su imali prevelikih problema u proizvodnji i mali postotak ispravnih kartica. Nisam baš oduševljen ako su to konačne specifikacije, no ako se iskoristi 512 bit sabirnica uparena sa visokim taktom, možda bi moglo biti tu kruha za ati.

Pričekajmo prvo da izađe R 520 pa ćemo vidjeti.
Izgleda da modeli sa 16 pajpi postižu osjetno veći takt nego sa 24/32.
Ove zadnje baš i nema ili ih ima tako malo da ih čuvaju za najače modele kad Nvidia izbaci Ultru.
