Kako moderne igre varaju na kvaliteti i bespotrebno troše hardverske resurse
Evo jedan zanimljivi tehnološki osvrt na današnje igre i kako moderna industrija vara na njima, naletio na to slučajno zahvaljujući Asmongoldu.

We are a new indie game studio working on a new IP but a couple years ago we discovered a huge narrative behind optimization that was not only destructive to realism and motion, but also false. This false narrative is being abused more than ever by industry leaders.

We want to change the direction the industry is heading so that sufficient hardware is not buried for the sake of unnecessary hardware sales and mass consumer manipulation. But we need both gamers and developers more aware of this massive industry oxymoron.

Ne znam baš da bi to nazvao "varanjem", ispada da se radi o nekakvoj globalnoj zavjeri zlih game developera
Prije će bit da se naprosto događa ono što je prisutno i u svakoj drugoj branši, lijenost, nesposobnost, neukost, nerazumijevanje tehnologije, vidi dolje ovog koji tvrdi da devovi jednostavno pouključuju sve što postoji jer je to najlakše
Kriza kompetencije je definitivno prisutna a bit će sve gore kad čovjek pogleda mlade generacije

Varanje u kontekstu toga da se nešto što ne valja prikriva nečim drugim što ne valja Mislim da je izraz. Ne znači da se radi o zavjeri, neko kako kažeš, lijenost, glupost, nebriga i sve ostalo što ide s time.

Čisto sumnjam da ne bi primijetio da mi komp majna
Osobno se ne zabrinjavam previše, najmodernija igra koju sam u zadnje vrijeme odigrao je BG3, ali kad vidim ove planove o većoj uključenosti "AI-a" u sve to, sve mi se čini da ću pod stare dane igrati isključivo GoG igre

Developeri, odnosno firme koje ih zapošljavaju jednostavno prebacuju trošak na stranu korisnika. Umjesto da njihovi developeri potroše vrijeme na optimizaciju koda (što proizvođača softvera košta) jednostavno kažu "treba vam to i to da vrtite taj softver" i prebace trošak na korisnika.
Na nekakvom Core2Duo, 4GB RAM, sa WinXP i Officeom 2003 se sa strane prosječnog korisnika moglo raditi sve za što ti danas treba 4+ coreova, 16GB RAMa, ultrabrzi SSDovi i slično. Jer nam je Microsoft objasnio da WinXP sa Officeom 2003, makar i air-gapan, nije dobar za napisati diplomski ili knjigu nego nam treba Win11 kojem nađu dva-tri zero daya mjesečno.

Iskreno, već neko vrijeme mi je to na pameti.

Kvaliteta opada GADNO, što priče, što grafike, što želje za resursima. (AAA igre naravno).

S druge strane imaš pridošlice i indie devove, koji imaju duplo bolju prezentaciju za manje love i resursa.

JEDNOSTAVNO da nemože biti jednostavnije.

SVI imamo backlog igara koji nemožemo završiti u 3 života. NE kupuj i ne plaćaj preplate dok nisi završio što posjeduješ.
Da svi tako razmišljamo, prodaja bi pala 100% valjda, AAA naslova, i s time bi digli ljestvicu ... jer potrošač dirigira lovom, nitko drugi.

Kad se samo sjetim demo scene u prvoj polovici 90-tih šta je ekipa izvlačila iz 4kb asembliranog koda… slika i zvuk. Gledali smo ih kao bogove.

Danas sa svjetlosnim godinama jačim hardwareom imamo igre koje izgledaju kao pretjerano komprimirani h264 na torrentima.

Kad se samo sjetim demo scene u prvoj polovici 90-tih šta je ekipa izvlačila iz 4kb asembliranog koda… slika i zvuk. Gledali smo ih kao bogove.
Ogromna je razlika između tih entuzijasta tada i ove ekipe što "developa" zato jer je to fancy i in i job title zvuči dobro na linkedinu.

Inače se ne slažem da je vrijeme igara sa dobrim sadržajem završilo, ima dobrog sadržaja koji izlazi iz malih studija koliko hoćeš. Iako je to sve subjektivno, naravno.

Ovo je bilo malo kasnije ali imam na disku još iz (pra)davnih dana, kakav zvuk i 3D scena stane u 64 kilobajta. Koga zanima -> https://easyupload.io/6aeu0b
Najnormalnije se pokreće na modernom PC-u sa zadnjim Winsima. Samo imajte dovoljno jak CPU, "- a fast pc, at least a p2-350"

A dooobroo mislim da te ignorira vecina jer nisi relevantan u vezi igara svi znamo da tebi sve pase i radi, lista igara je sta tebi dobro igre? ok nista novo pa tebi sve valja.
Od navedenih je jedna ili dvi mozda izasla zavrsena i da valja i stacemo sad

Slazem se s mladenxyem, ima top igara koje pola kmecavaca tu sigurno nije odigralo. Cisti primjer pretjeranog hipsterskog elitizma, pa sad kao nista ne valja jer ste odrasli u drukcije vrijeme, na "4k asembliranog koda" i slicne price, dajte molim vas.

E sada je dosta bilo, sutra dajem otkaz i dajem si zadatak u narednih 6 mjeseci odigrati sve s predmetne liste, neka ide sve u kurac.

The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests. Thats right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting f*cked by a system that threw them overboard 30 f*cking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this f*cking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people -- white collar, blue collar, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on -- good honest hard-working people continue -- these are people of modest means -- continue to elect these rich c*cksuckers who don’t give a f*ck about them. They don’t give a f*ck about you. They don’t give a f*ck about you. They don't care about you at all -- at all -- at all. And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. That's what the owners count on; the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes everyday. Because the owners of this country know the truth: it's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.

Igrali ste Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Alan Wake II, Ghost of Tsushima, Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora, A Plague Tale: Requiem, The Last of Us Part II, Red Dead Redemption II, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider Man, Metro Exodus, The Callisto Protocol...?

Da. Jedino sto mi je zbilja sjelo iz ove liste su Horizon Forbidden West i Metro Exodus. Odlicna prica, sve na mjestu. Ostalo je meni osobno (opet naglasak na ovo posto je vecina igara koje si izlistao OK za vecinu) ili bilo predosadno ili nije moj tip igre ili vec videno/losije izvedeno. Moj je problem najcesce sto se cesto reciklira isti viden sadrzaj samo - neoptimiziraniji kao sto je vec spomenuto.

Slazem se s mladenxyem, ima top igara koje pola kmecavaca tu sigurno nije odigralo. Cisti primjer pretjeranog hipsterskog elitizma, pa sad kao nista ne valja jer ste odrasli u drukcije vrijeme, na "4k asembliranog koda" i slicne price, dajte molim vas.

Ocekivano nije trebalo mnogo da se u civiliziranoj raspravi identificiraju osobe nizeg praga tolerancije i vokabulara. Mda moderne igre su originalne izvedbe koje su zabavne satima , danima pa i godinama igranja. Zato vecina online ekipa trubi da je vecina AAA igara koje su izasle unatrag zadnjih par godina neoptimirana reciklaza i vise igra Indie igre koje su cesto i zabavnije. Da se razumijemo - za mene je OK igra dobar singleplayer ili platformer sa dobrom pricom koju kad igram zelim odigrat do kraja zbog dobre price i nista ne stuca na normalnom modernijem racunalu ak treba na 720p low/medium postavkama. Odlicne igre se igraju godinama i ne dosade.


Tu i tamo izade neki dobar FPS i platformer ali recimo izbor zbilja dobrih RTS strategija nakon C&C RA2/YR Revenge kroz CNCNet / Supreme Commander i Starcraft/2 je - suho. Warhammer: Dawn of War iako konceptom drukciji takoder rado odigram (1,2,3). Total War serijal (Shogun 2 i Warhammer II) mozda jednom na godinu odigram ali nebih rekao da je losa igra. Ashes of singularity me ugodno iznenadila ali odigram jedan skirmish i dosta. Northgard i Terra Nil su interesantan koncept koji rado odigram tu i tamo ali za to si moram uzet vremena uvijek. Homeworld 3 me apsolutno razocarao u odnosu na 1 i 2, dok se Worms serijal nakon xy godina uvijek rado odigra (i klinac mi se navukao). NFS Serijal od kad je presao na FF vibe mi ne sjeda ali zato Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 1/2 , Dirt i Grid serijal pune praznine (i zeljno iscekujem AC EVO). Neki dan igrao GT7 kod frenda kratko - razmisljam uzet PS4 Pro samo radi njega. GT2 i 4 se i dalje preko emulatora na PC-u igraju. Forza Horizon 4 s druge strane iako igra u kojoj imam vjerojatno najvise sati na Steamu vrlo brzo dosadi (gustanje autima u freeroaming modu je jedini gust). Od FPS-ova trenutno vise pratim HL2 modove (koji nisu bas optimizirani al hebiga s obzirom koja ekipa radi i sa kojim resursima tu nebrem gundat posto je prica i izvedba jednostavno top). Ostalo je klasika - Bioshock serijal, Crysis serijal, Borderlands serijal, Doom (sve do Eternala koji mi nije sjeo zbog skakutanja), Fear serijal, HL1/2 serijal , Halo, Left4Dead1/2, Metro serijal , Quake 1/2/3/4, Red Faction serijal , Wolfenstein (od RTCW do Old Blood...Young Blood imam al mi nije sjeo), System Schock 2, Shadow Warrior 1/2 , Singularity, Titanfall 2. Dead space 1/2/3 sa dodatnom dozom horora su mi super sjeli (i zato mi je Callisto Protocol gori jer je u sustini isti koncept ali po sebi teza igra). Kad mi pukne film samo drmnem malo Devil May Cry 4/5. God of War je predobar. Mass effect odigram mozda jednom u 2 godine. Igre poput Some ili Star Wars: Force Unleashed (1/2) odigram jednom u 2/3 godine i nemam poriv jos jedno vrijeme ponoviti. Tomb Raider serijal takoder OK za odigrat jednom godisnje. Mozda. Witcher 3 sam igrao duze al mi je uvijek nekako dosadio. Civ 3/5 rijetko odigram jer sesije traju po par sati i tu se malo vise faktora moraju poklopiti da mogu u miru odigrat jedan skirmish. Isto kao i Cities Skylines. Ah da i Trine serijal mi je OK za tu i tamo. Trenutno s klincem igram Rayman Origins i Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Ok igre.


Preporuke za nekaj da je novo u tom stilu igara a da nije na ovdje opisanoj listi?

nisam odigrao jer kao i većina tu imam djecu, obaveze posao i još usput studiram, želim biti u formi,idem u gym, ali i i na nogometne termine, i socijalno ne želim zapusitit.
Igram navečer kasno, ujutro kao zombi na posao...i jako dobro biram igru koju ću odigrati jer je vrijeme dragocjeno.

sve te nabrojane su kvalitetom ok, ali 7/10, osim par hitova kao rdr2 koji jesam odigrao u dahu, (doduše prije djece).

ugl. poanta mog upisa je da igrao bi da stignem, ali ne stignem, ali se slažem s naslovom, igre ne izgledjau ni upola impresivno više, gameplay je postao repetativan i kopiraju jedni druge , a vrh nekima je šta za otvaranje vrata trebaju 3 tipke i par poteza na gamepadu u indiana jones.

na šta te igre liče, a zahtjevi bolesni, ne bi li ko poletio kupiti još nešto skupog hardvera da bi se razočarao kad pokrene igru koju ju dugo čekao, koja je vjerojatno neki remake ili remaster, i onda shvati da nema one čarolije koju je imala kad ju je igrao kao klinac

Meni je ocekivano da igre ne izgledaju ni upola impresivno kao prije, hw je kao i u drugim stvarima dosegao limit odavno, pomaci su minorni, nesto dodatno wow je jedino eventualno VR, ali i dalje ima dobrih igara koje nisam odigrao. Neke niti necu jer ili nemam vremena jer zivot kao i kod svih, ili nisu zanr koji me interesira, ali sam ih pogledao po youtubeu, twitchu ili na drugim recenzijama.
A ocekivat da ti (bilo koja) igra da caroliju koju je imala bilo koja druga kad si je upalio kao dijete prvi put je potpuno nerealno.
