RAMDisk postao jako skup sport... Bas gledam cijene memorije osle u nebo... 16GB DDR5 SODIMM u ducanima vec preko 100EUR (oni koji jos drze po 50-60EUR su nedobavljivi, tako da nula bodova)...

They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting f*cked by a system that threw them overboard 30 f*cking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this f*cking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people -- white collar, blue collar, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on -- good honest hard-working people continue -- these are people of modest means -- continue to elect these rich c*cksuckers who don’t give a f*ck about them. They don’t give a f*ck about you. They don’t give a f*ck about you. They don't care about you at all -- at all -- at all. And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. That's what the owners count on; the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes everyday. Meni je na Firefoxu i Librewolfu ionako ugašen disk cache, sve keširanje ide u RAM, pa nisam siguran da bi nekog velikog dobitka bilo od guranja cijelog profila u RAM. Štoviše ovo muljanje sa držanjem u RAMu fajlova koji bi trebali biti perzistentni i onda dumpanje na disk kod shutdowna mi izgleda kao prizivanje problema.

Sada me lik nahuškao i bude probao narednih dana. Po meni moguće da je to više efekt usporedbe browsera koji je bio otvoren neko vrijeme (u pravilu se dosta uspori) te onog svježeg stanja nakon restarta. Također bih kazao da bi cache treba ubrzati rad browsera.

Probaj prvo ovo, to je sigurnija opcija jer samo cache ide u RAM, a ostali fajlovi iz profila koji ionako ne rade neki performance hit ostaju sigurni na disku. Ubrzanje će vjerojatno biti isto kao da cijeli profil strpaš na RAMdisk.

Isprobao sam portable Chrome iz RAMDiska, sto jest jest, brzo radi... Al ne znam sad napamet kolko brze, jer sam si postavio Chrome cache od mog Chromea na kompu da ionako bude u RAMDisku...

Inace, ovo naganjanje stvari iz RAMDiska mozemo promatrati ili kroz prizmu performansi, koje ocigledno sa danasnjim diskovima i nisu bas toliko vidljive (iako su vidljive) ili kroz prizmu privatnosti podataka...

Netko kome treba absolute privacy ce itekako koristiti RAMDisk zbogradi volatilne prirode RAMa u odnosu na non-volatile prirodu diska... Sve sto je tamo zapisano doslovno nestaje nepovratno jednom kad se RAMDisk unisti, dok kod diska uvijek mozes zavrtit neki data recovery i vratit podatke...

Inace, do sada jos nisam primjetio neke probleme u radu Windowsa na dva kompa na kojima imam slozen RAMDisk...


No, s obzirom na nenormalne cijene RAMa u zadnje vrijeme, brijem da onom tko nema RAMDisk, to je sada zadnja rupa na svirali...

Neke Linuxe možeš bootati sa sticka i učitati kompletne u RAM i izvaditi stick kad se bootaju. Primjerice ja koristim SystemRescue ( https://www.system-rescue.org/ ) u tom modu kad mi treba wipati nekoliko kompova jer ako imam 10 kompova ne treba mi 10 stickova nego samo jedan po jedan bootam u RAM i pokrenem shred proceduru. Teoretski bi se svaki Linux mogao podesiti da kompletan OS ide u RAM nakon boota. Ako kome treba radi volatilnosti. Navodno neki VPNovi koriste tu metodu na svojim serverima. Boota se sa enkriptiranog medija u RAM i onda vrti koliko treba, ali ako se resetira ne ostaje ništa jer ni nema nonvolatile storage.
