ATLANTA — Technology companies and developers are finally realizing that they’ll need to deal with the European Union’s (EU) Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Fortunately, as Greg Kroah-Hartman, maintainer of the Linux kernel stable branch, explained at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2025, if you’re an individual open source developer, you don’t have much to worry about. It’s a different story, however, if your code ends up in commercial products for the EU market.
Understanding the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)

Before diving into that, though, let’s have a quick refresher on what the CRA is anyway, since, as the Linux Foundation pointed out in a recent survey, 62% of developers and their companies are largely clueless about the CRA. The CRA is a sweeping set of regulations designed to establish unified cybersecurity standards for products with digital elements, hardware, software, and network-connected devices, sold or used in the EU.
The Act aims to significantly enhance cybersecurity and reduce vulnerabilities, while holding manufacturers, importers, and distributors accountable for the security of digital products throughout their entire lifecycle. That means all the way from design and development to deployment and decommissioning.

Testiram Ubuntu 25.10. Default
testna mašina Thinkpad L14 G1 , R5 4650u 32gb. Kad porekrenem Firefox isamo čeka loading pa pokrene. Dojam je kao da si na SATA disku iako ima NVME

Boot od biosa do logina je 17s
Startanje firefoxa je oko 3
Startanje Brava sa 9tabova je 2.8s
Chrome prvi start je oko 1s, ali bez tabova.

Nakon toga startanje traje cca 1-1.5s
Kod startanja browsera, vidim da zakuca procesore.

To ti se samo na Ubuntu dogada? Znam da kad sam zadnji put koristio da su mi Snap aplikacije ostale u pamcenju kao spore. Probaj firefox iz konzole startat pa vidi dal ikaj interesantnog ispljune da mu fali/smeta.

Naletio na AerynOS, čini se zanimljiva distra od etablirane ekipe iako je tek alpha. Kakva su vam mišljenja po pitanju immutable i atomic? Meni, kao laiku, se to čini dobro za stabilnost.

Use a USB-C to DP (Display Port) [best], or USB-C to HDMI [ok] video cable, rather than a USB-C to USB-C cable to your monitor.

A mislim jeben odgovor, koristim USB-C to USB-C i baš to kao nije dobro...

A mislim jeben odgovor, koristim USB-C to USB-C i baš to kao nije dobro...

Izgleda da je ili bug u driveru ili uopce nije podrzano...al cek malo kazes da ti se isto dogada kad dock (thunderbolt pretpostavljam) nije spojen? Mozda imas 2 razlicita problema..ajmo prvo vidjeti sto je sa thunderbolt opcijom...cekiraj ovo:

Uglavnom - dal je bolt servis instaliran i aktiviran? Dali prijavljuje kakve greske?

Nije thunderbolt, u pitanju je monitor sa usb-c kablom, LG

Bolt je intaliran (bolt-0.9.10-2.fc43.x86_64), ali ne radi, probal sam ga pokrenuti sa "sudo systemctl start bolt" ali se ugasi zato jer nije Thunderbolt nego USB-C u pitanju.

Po greški bi rekel da je unutarnji display problem zbog eDP

Linus Torvalds is "fairly positive" about vibe coding as a way for people to get computers to do things they otherwise could not. The Linux kernel maintainer made the comments during an interview at the Linux Foundation Open Source Summit in Seoul earlier this month. But he cautioned that vibe coding would be a "horrible, horrible idea from a maintenance standpoint" for production code.

Torvalds told Dirk Hohndel, head of open source at Verizon, that computers have become more complicated than when he learned to code by typing in programs from computer magazines. He said vibe coding offers a path into computing for newcomers. The kernel maintainer is not using AI-assisted coding himself. He said his role has shifted from rejecting new ideas to sometimes pushing for them against opposition from longstanding maintainers who "kind of get stuck in a rut."

Rust is "actually becoming a real part of the kernel instead of being this experimental thing," he said. Torvalds said AI crawlers have been "very disruptive to a lot of our infrastructure" because they gather data from kernel.org source code. Kernel maintainers receive bugs and security notices that are "made up by people who misuse AI," though the problem is smaller than for other projects such as curl.
