Vidi imaš li Folder options -> View -> Status bar. Win 10 mi je na delu, ali 11-ka bi trebala imati istu opciju.

People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. Čista instalacija 24H2 mi je svuda prošla normalno, ali upgrade sa 23H2 na 24H2 nikad gori. Prvo sam skužio kako je sve dosta sporo, aplikacije u startupu nikad pokrenuti, pola ih nema, prozori nasumično trepere (nekako najviše internet browseri), file explorer spor,... Bit će izgleda čupanje backupa od 23H2.

Kada je mene zadnje na Fedori mučio flicker, ispalo je da adaptivni frame rate ide ispod minimuma koji je podržan od strane monitora. To je bila neka kombinacija problema s driverom + koja je već bila verzija KDE + možda wayland. Kada sam ugasio adaptivni frame rate u opcijama onda je bilo sve OK.

Nedavno sam pokrenuo online upgrade sa W10. Majko mila što je to trajalo. Odustao sam sat vremena kasnije na nekih 24%, ubacio usb stick sa W11 i s njime napravio upgrade.

Adaptivni nije podržan kod mene, ali kad si spomenuo, išao sam provjeriti refresh rate i nestalo mi 120 Hz na nativnoj 5k rezoluciji, ima samo na 4k. Isprobao par verzija drivera, svuda isto...

Microsoft confirms Auto HDR bug in Windows 11 and blocks updates as a consequence

In other words, games may freeze and potentially crash on Windows 11, version 24H2, if Auto HDR is enabled.
Note that this affects devices that have been upgraded to the latest version already. If you noticed color issues or freezes in games, you may now have found the culprit, provided that you use Auto HDR on the device.

Adaptivni nije podržan kod mene, ali kad si spomenuo, išao sam provjeriti refresh rate i nestalo mi 120 Hz na nativnoj 5k rezoluciji, ima samo na 4k. Isprobao par verzija drivera, svuda isto...
Bit će da onda nije kriv driver.

Microsoft has lauded the success of its efforts to convince customers to use passkeys instead of passwords, without actually quantifying that success. From a report: The software megalith credits passkey adoption to its enrolment user experience, or UX, which owes its unspecified uptake to unavoidable passkey solicitations -- sometimes referred to as "nudges."

"We're implementing logic that determines how often to show a nudge so as not to overwhelm users, but we don't let them permanently opt out of passkey invitations," explained Sangeeta Ranjit, group product manager, and Scott Bingham, principal product manager, in a blog post. The corporation's onboarding strategy seems to suit its corporate address: One Microsoft Way.

 Ranjit and Bingham describe that strategy in a post titled "Convincing a billion users to love passkeys: UX design insights from Microsoft to boost adoption and security." But they don't disclose how many customers love passkeys enough to actually use them.

Dobar OS samo bas zbog ovakvih sranja ide opasno na zivac. Vratio se Fedori privat, sluzbene kante ostaju na Win10/11.

Microsoft has integrated its AI assistant Copilot into Microsoft 365 subscriptions in Australia and Southeast Asia, simultaneously raising prices for all users. The move forces customers to pay for AI features regardless of interest, prompting complaints about intrusive pop-ups and price hikes, WSJ reports. From the report: Some users said on social media that Copilot pop-ups reminded them of Clippy, Microsoft's widely derided Office helper from the late 1990s, that would frequently offer unsolicited help.

[...] The change demonstrates the lengths to which Microsoft is going to try to profit from its huge investments in AI. Copilot, which is built with technology from OpenAI, is a key part of Chief Executive Satya Nadella's plan to keep expanding Microsoft's software business for consumer and corporate customers.

Microsoft is warning that Windows 11 installations using USB or CD media created with October or November 2024 security updates may be unable to receive future security patches.

The bug affects version 24H2 installations made between October 8 and November 12, but does not impact systems updated through Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog. Microsoft advised users to rebuild installation media using December 2024 patches while it works on a permanent fix for the issue, which primarily affects business and education environments.

Bude Linux došao na svoje.

Nope. Ljudi su stvorenja navike a bez krucijalnih aplikacija moš ga 'ebat. Ako u zadnjih 25 godina Linux nije prerasao pišljivih 4% na desktopu neće nažalost ni sad. MS to radi jer zna da mogu. Windows ima ogromnu bazu većinom kvalitetnih aplikacija bez obzira jesu li besplatne ili ne , podršku za sav moguć hardwer i iskorištava pun potencijal istog. Linux je ponekad na istoj razini ali često nažalost ne. Korisnici će samo birati dali će koristiti vazelin ili ne. Za individue koji su voljni nekaj novo naučit i Linux im služi svrsi i PC je podržan - dobro za njih. Svi ostali su u banani i moraju koristiti i plaćat sustav kakav je. Kao što rekoh - šteta jer ako izbacimo te egzibicije meni je osobno Win11 top.

Ljudi kojima sam stavio Linux i rekao im da probaju na 2 dana, pa jave jel žele ostati...zvali su me za 2h i rekli da im je dosta jer ne mogu pokrenuti/instalirati ništa dvoklikom na instalacijski file.

Navikli su na Windowse, ne žele ništa osim Windowsa. Kakve god da mi prednosti ovdje vidimo, prosječnom korisniku je glavobolja mijenjati način korištenja koji je već muscle memory

Bingo. Zato je i propao Limux projekt u Minhenu kad se grad trebao prebaciti na Linux. Problemi nisu bili tehnološke ili financijske prirode već ljudske (navika+ politika). Tak da možemo mlatiti praznu slamu oko Linuxa od jutra do sutra ali ne vjerujem da će se u idućih 20 godina išta drastično promjeniti osim da MS više iskorištava svoju poziciju. Pitanje je što u nedostatku konkurencije može natjerati MS da promijeni praksu. Apple proizvodi su preskupi da se svi prebace na tu alternativu (iako i Apple ima trulu praksu oko nekih stvari). Za neke od nas Linux će postati daily driver ali za normalne smrtnike ako ovako MS nastavi bit će prst u guzicu i trpi.

Korisnici kojima sam ja instalirao linux ne instaliraju nikada ništa, tako da njima to ne igra ulogu I naravno da je instalacija u par klikova normalna stvar (repozitoriji ili ručno skinuti deb, run, appimage i drugi formati).

Ajd, Libre Office sam instalirao neki dan čovjeku na Ubuntu i bome sam trebao par minuta dok sam pročitao readme i što moram upisati u terminal. Prošlo je neko vrijeme i zaboravio sam već.

Gleda me u nevjerici i pita...jel ću ja to svaki put morati ovako?
Čekam da me nazove i veli da mu vratim sve nazad na Windowse.

Problemi su upravo bili financijske pa prirodno onda i tehnolosko-vremenske prirode, jer u to vrijeme godista, takav projekt je bio samo mokri san suludih tehnobirokrata kojeg tehnologija tog vremena nije mogla pratiti u skladu s ocekivanjima.

I manji problem je bio u Linuxu (YMMV), koliko je bio u XYZOffice smecima na istom.

Ja sam prvi koji ce se posrati po duljini i sirini Linuxa, ali brate moj u Kristu - doslovce skines deb, dvokliknes na njega i upres u veliko "Install" dugme.
Evo, Opera se recimo instalirala na taj način, ali Libre Office ne. Možda je razlika od distribucije do distribucije, ali na Ubuntu nije radilo na taj način.
Jedino kroz terminal i sudo dpkg -i *.deb

This directory contains a subdirectory called "DEBS". Change directory to the "DEBS" directory.

Right-click within the directory and choose "Open in Terminal". A terminal window will open. From the command line of the terminal window, enter the following command (you will be prompted to enter your root user's password before the command will execute):

The following commands will install LibreOffice and the desktop integration packages (you may just copy and paste them into the terminal screen rather than trying to type them):

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

The installation process is now completed, and you should have icons for all the LibreOffice applications in your desktop's Applications/Office menu.

A što si bogati morao upisati u terminal? Da se razumijemo, postoji određeni diferencijal u znanju, i to naravno mora biti tako. Prelaskom iz jednog sustava u drugi čovjek mora nešto i naučiti. Što je za većinu ljudi skoro pa nemoguće. Žalosno da je tako, ali je šta je. OS je pritom najmanji problem.

Moje problem ovdje je što se nalazimo na IT related forumu tako da smatram da ne pričamo među ljudima koji ništa ne znaju i nisu u stanju učiti. Sugerirati da je instalacija libre office komplicirana na linuxu je stvarno suludo. Pa manje klikova na linuxu treba nego na windowsima. Evo, to kod mene izgleda ovako, nakon otvaranja software managera i traženja aplikacije.

Na windowsima valja otvoriti browser, tražilicu, ukucati pojam, potražiti download link, skinuti file na adekvatnu lokaciju, pokrenuti instaler i potvrditi UAC i tek onda klikati next u više navrata i finish. Ti ljudi o kojima pričamo takve stvari u pravilu ne znaju napraviti.

Ako pričamo o stvarnim ograničenjima, ima ih koliko hoćeš, kako je Tomek prije naveo. Razni software koji nema podršku na linuxu (iako vjerojatno radi u wine) i podrška za razno razni hardware, što je po meni daleko najveća boljka, iako limitirana ako pričamo o standardnoj opremi koja se nalazi na tržištu neko dulje vrijeme.

Prosječan korisnik ima ovakav workflow

Treba mu office. Rekli su mu da je Libre Office besplatan i ok.

1. Gugla Libre Office
2. Downloada Libre Office
3. Dvaput klikne na .exe
4. Next Next Next Next
5. Dvaput klikne na ikonicu u Start menu / ikonicu na desktopu

Imam ispred sebe sad downloadani .tar folder s Libre Office koji u sebi ima 42 .deb filea i nijedan od njih nije "Install".
Ajd mi objasni kako će prosječan korisnik iz primjera gore instalirati išta na ovakav način.

Linux nije intuitivan za korisnika bez predznanja. Smjesti se u kožu takvog korisnika i onda pogledaj kroz njegove oči ovo što ti je Software Manager izbacio. Otkud uopće početi?

Evo, Opera se recimo instalirala na taj način, ali Libre Office ne.
Bogami, skinuo sam sada deb da vidim o cemu pricas, i u pravu si. S time da bih rekao da su to ovi idioti iz LibreOfficea spetljali - jasno mi je da nisu u stanju napraviti suvisli Office paket, ali taj jedan deb nije trebao biti tako dramatican.

Cini mi se da im je generalno stranica u poluraspadnom stanju takoder.

S druge strane, kako je receno, dosta tih "velikih" distribucija ima svoj nekakav "store" (bas kao i Windowsi), s kojega bi instalacija trebala biti trivijalna.
