Suma sumarum, disk je jednostavno sranje ili rikava?

Imaš neki vrlo čudan program za čitati smart podatke. Rekao bih da ti krivo prikazuje atribute. Kod Cruciala (barem na MXu, nemam nijedan BX pri ruci) atr. 202 je % lifetime remaining dok su atributi 210 nadalje brojevi grešaka i read/write količina podataka.

Ako imaš neki iole recentni smartmontools pogledaj "smartctl -A" što ti veli za BXa.

Za usporedbu mogu ti dati primjer kako izgleda ispravan smart report iz MXa ako treba.

Kada bi riknuo, to bi bila dobra vijest za RMA Iako da dobijem još jednog takvog i nije baš neka sreća. A MX je momentalno svega 15€ skuplji. Kako sam to kupio, što reći kakvu posluku porati.

KDE partition manager je taj čudan program. SS koji sam stavio je od HTML reporta kojeg isti proizvodi.

To bi značilo 2.55TB zapisano, što mi zvuči realno i nije baš neki pretjerano velik broj.


nikki, da li bi to "davljenje" ubilo i čitanje na neko vrijeme? Jer sada ponavljam par puta to testiranje (gdje sam pisao 5x512MB jednom ili dva puta) i ponaša se drugačije. Pisanje i dalje potone, ali read je sada prihvaljiv i više ne uspijevam vidjeti onih 40-50 MB/s.

EDIT: Logika mi nalaže slijedeće: ako je disk bio udavljen s tih nešo zapisanih GB, sada, nakon što sam pustio malo vremena da se dođe sebi i ponovio pisanje 5x16MiB, a on i dalje piše 15 MB/s, tu o davljenju po meni nema govora.

Pod "davljenje" sam mislio na čitanje / pisanje neke gomilice podataka, ne koliko je ukupno zauzeće podacima.
Ako sam dobro razumio, sad imaš prostora na nekom drugom hdd / ssd za privremeno prebaciti podatke koji su na tom betežnom BX - u ?
Ako je tako onda napravi:
1 - copy sa BX > nekamo
2 - formatiraj BX
3 - od nekamo copy na BX

Sve su ti već rekli, to je low end SSD bez DRAM cachea, ubiti će se od malo većih transfera, a ti si ga krenuo mučiti tim nekakvim benchmarcima, pogotovo ovakvi koji su više iops orijentirani.
Bolje bi bilo da si uzeo MX, ali sad što je tu je.
Atrib 202 = disk je na 97% zdravlja, nećeš to tako skoro zatući
Da, dobro si izračunao tih 2.5 TB, nije to ništa.
Par napomena još:
- provjeri da li ti na gedori radi trim, trebao bi biti systemd timer na 1x tjedno ili tako nešto. Možeš jednokratno ručno trimati s fstrim komandom, to bi trebalo nešto sitno skockati write u slučaju da si ga ubio tim benchmarcima
- vidi da se SSD možda ne pregrijava, imao sam slučajeva sa takvim jeftinjacima da imaju plastično kućište i vole zakuhati unutra a da se ne skuži izvana pa kreće throttle.
- kako ti je tomek predložio, ako sumnjaš na čitanje, probaj pokrenuti "gnome disks" app (ako je dostupna u gedori) pa pusti tamo bench, to radi na blok nivou, kao da s dd čitaš disk. ovi tvoji benchovi svi traže filesystem, datoteke itd. pa i o tome ovise perf.

Disk je ubijen sa 3GB benchmarka? Da ne spominjem da je bio ubiven već s prvim benchmarkom. Dok je počeo upisivati 5x512GB već je write bio na 15MB/s. I prije sam prebacivao podatke, desetke GB odjednom, na ovaj disk pa nije to prebacivanje trajalo satima i danima.

Write speed 15MB/s. Dakle, stick od prije 15 godina. O čemu pričamo? Razlika u cijeni između MX i CX je 15€. Reklamira se kao disk koji ima RW cca 500 MB/s.

Čini mi se da nismo na istoj stranici, razlika je bar jedan red veličine.

Što se tiče temperature, prema SMART ne prelazi 32°C. Ako ga je pregrijalo zapisivanje 3GB podataka i to odmah čim je isto krenulo a da je pritom tijekom popodneva bio opterećen sa seedanjem 1MB/s onda to nije isparavan disk.

Probat ću vidjeti što je s gnome disks, koliko vidim to dnf, makar pod tim nazivom, ne prepoznaje.

EDIT: po defaultnim opcijama, 100x10 MB read speed daje 487 MB/s, dakle sve po starom. Ponovljeno za write, isto tako 100x10MB brzina nakon 25 samples 10.4MB/s i ide polagano dolje. Sada je read viši, ide na 525 dok je konačni write 10.1 MB/s.

Napravio "sudo fstrim /run/media/mkey/HDD4" radilo je to minutu dvije, ništa ne vrati, no news is good news, valjda.

Gdisk performanse ista patka. Ako je disk "ubijen" koliko vremena mu treba da se oporavi?

EDIT: odradio još jedan taj gnome disk write benchmark, 100x10MB, temperatura prije (hddtemp) 29, poslije 36°C. Probat ću ga još isformatirati u EXT4, iako ne vidim da je to relevantno.

Ako si ikako u mogućnosti, vrati to i uzmi MXa.

Nešto ne valja s tim diskom.... Write je debelo prespor.
A i read ti neobjašnjivo pada od 30-70% to ne smije biti tako.
Pretpostavljam da taj disk nije bio montiran kao sistemski i radilo se nešto na njemu za vrijeme dok si sve te benchmarke radio
Za taj bench ja volim staviti 100MB x 1000 sample size pa kako koji disk živ ili mrtav nakon toga.
Nemam ništa sličnoga pri ruci, ali evo ti za primjer rezultat jednog sličnog SSDa kao i taj BX, vjeruj mi jedno puno veće gofno od BXa, još je testiran u USB ladici
Izgleda naoko sve super, taj je završio u jednom kompu za lokalni veeam backup i obamire lagano, write se spušta na 15 MB/s, pun je cca pola.

Disk uopće nije u upotrebi cijelo ovo vrijeme. Od jučer sam ga oslobodio svih zaduženja a i inače je služio kao disk za torrente te sam nešto igara držao gore. Veći dio vremena njegov workload je bio 1MB/s uploada i to je to. Zato nisam niti primijetio nikakve probleme s njime dok jučer nisam odradio taj benchmark, onako skroz slučajno. Nabavio sam kućište ta jedan NVME disk koji mi je ostao neupotrebljen, pa sam testirao njega i usput druge diskove.

Evo rezultata nakon formatiranja u EXT4. Idemo i dalje lagano dolje. Da padne brzina nakon desetak ispisanih GB na 100 MB/s ne bih ništa rekao, i tako je to OK za svrhu diska. Ali brate mili, ne samo što je nisko nego je fluktuacija brzine ubitačna. Idealno bi bilo da krepa, samo sa 10-12MB/s write bila bi to jaaaako spora smrt.

U odnosu na ovaj tvoj benchmark, moja crvena linija je puno postojanija.

Poslao sam im tamo to sve za RMA, nataknem ih. Abdullah se javio automatskim mailom Nije ni druga godina od tri godine garancije istekla, neka izvole to rješavati. Kako ti kažeš, najbolje bi bilo isposlovati zamjenu za MX.

A zašto ti plava linija je tako pala na onom grafu od 30-70% kapaciteta diska?
Jesi probao taj disk baš u kompu?
Probaj neki drugi komp ili drugi sata port.
Nemoj samo preko nekog usb 2 sata adaptera, tu znaju razni problemi se pojaviti.

Preko SATA je spojen. Mislim da mi je to jedino što još mogu probati, da promijenim SATA kabel odnosno port. Budem to sutra. Imam nekoliko novih SATA kabela samo ih moram iskopati.

I to šta kažeš, ta propadanja baš bodu u oko.
