As we wait and hope for the rain to stop falling, let me tell you about a remarkable story in The Times.
No, not the news on page four that accepting an invitation to a wedding costs, on average, an attendee almost Ł400, but the revelation that Christian Horner was informed he was being sacked as Red Bull boss on Sunday.
According to the newspaper’s F1 correspondent Kevin Eason, ‘A rival team principal even rang Horner on Sunday morning before the grand prix to commiserate, claiming that Gerhard Berger, the former McLaren and Ferrari driver, was in the frame to take over’.
Horner, we should quickly add, remains very much the Red Bull boss and has denied he has been given his marching orders by the team.
