EPoX EP-9U1697 GLi.....overclocker za sitne pare

Anandtech je recenziral ovu (po meni) odličnu EPoX-ovu ploču, baziranu na ULi-evom 1697 chipsetu, koja po performansama drži korak (a u nekim slučajevima) i nadjačava bolje/skuplje ploče mnogo renomiranijih prozvođača.

The EPoX EP-9U1697 GLi offers excellent performance at a bargain price. The performance of the board in the majority of the benchmarks was extremely competitive with the ATI and NVIDIA chipset offerings. The stability of the board was superb at stock settings and very good at overclocked settings. We find it refreshing that a board with this performance is being offered for a retail price around US $85. While the ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2 offers a greater feature set for the same price, the EPoX board offers significantly better performance in the overclocking area.

The board utilizes a manual jumper system to switch from single x16 PCI-E operation to dual x8 PCI-E operation. The performance of the board under SLI testing matched that of our nForce4 boards and offered full SLI compatibility with the ULi PowerExpress Engine Enabling driver. The board also fully supported our ATI X1900XTX and EVGA 7900GTX video cards.

The board offers RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 capability, NCQ, Hot Plug, and 3Gb/s support along with dual channel ATA133 Ultra DMA capability. The board also offers eight ULi USB 2.0 ports when utilizing the two USB 2.0 headers. The performances of the ULi SATA and IDE controllers were excellent and easily exceeded the nForce4 solutions.

The stability of the board was excellent during testing and general usage. The board's performance was consistently competitive with other ATI, ULi, and NVIDIA chipset offerings in the majority of benchmarks and applications.

However, we feel that EPoX made the following errors in the design and execution of the board. The location of the floppy drive connector at the bottom of the board, the location of the 24-pin ATX power connector right above the CPU socket, and the use of active cooling on the ULi M1697 chipset could be improved. EPoX will be offering the 9U1697 GLi-J board with PCI-E Gigabit via the Marvell 88E8053 controller, but it will only be upgrading the audio to the 8-channel capable ALC-850 AC97 codec.

The BIOS issue that we encountered, which caused random lockups after exiting Windows XP, was disconcerting, although we did not notice any stability or performance issues within Windows or during testing. EPoX has provided us with an updated BIOS for testing.

Kad stigne u prodaju, ploča bi trebala koštati oko 85$ (cca 500 kn) i manje (ovisno od dućanu, tj. retaileru).

Performanse i layout su dosta loši kao na svakoj Epoxici... :(

Oko layouta se slazem, al mislim da se varas oko performansi...ako ce cijena i biti 500kn, performanse su super ;)

Samo, kad ce doc ta prokleta ploca u nas??

meni se chipset ovaj jako svidja . a bar je bolje uli i epox , nego uli i asrock

...ja se ne bih slozio,a prednost epoxa je u vecim voltazama tim je moguc veci overclock

Joj, kad bi barem ploca dosla u nas u par narednih dana. Cijenu od 500kn bih platio bez problema...

Dobro, layout ko layout (nekomu paše, nekomu ne....ali čovek se navikne), sve u svemu imam osjećaj da bi ta ploča (još kad EPoX malo sredi BIOS) mogla biti i više nego solidna......i po pitanju performansi, a bome i kaj se tiče overclockanja.

This board features a 24-Pin connector, vs ASRock's 20-Pin setup. This should provide much more stable power to the board and components, which should improve the board's overclockability. The board already does 325MHz HTT stable, which is more than most people would need. With a bit more voltage, and 2T it goes slightly higher.

Jel itko nagadja kad ce to cudo doc u Rvacku? i di ce se moc kupit...

Hitno mi je, sljedeci tjedan moram kupit maticnu, jer vise nemrem bez kompa...a bilo bi mi zao ako bih upecal npr, Asrocka sa ULi 1697 (koji takodjer nije losa maticna) a da mi dva dana kasnije dodje ta epoxica koja je u nekim stvarima jaca od asrocka....ne puno, al ako je cijena tu negdje, zasto ne ;)

Makar mislim da ce me i asrock dobro sluzit.

P.S. Ima li netko tu Asrock 939SLI-eSATA2 maticnu? Ako ima nek mi posalje PM, da vidim koje su dobre a koje lose strane, kaj radi kak treba a kaj ne...

Strpi se malo, sad bi ovaj mjesec trebala stići u prodaju. BTW ploča podržava i SLi i CrossFire uz pomoć predelanih drivera:)

Ma nemrem cekat, jednostavno mi je prijeko potreban komp za fax (3d crtanje).

Tako da mislim da ce ipak radi novaca doci u moj doma Asrokica Dual SATA...

A kasnije ko ce znat ;)

Ako je u USA oko 500-520kn, kod nas ce bit min oko 700-800kn.

Zna li tko kada ce doc u Hr? Mislim da ce ipak bit jeftinija od 700kn.

Zanimljiva ploca za malo love ;)

Kaj se tiče dobavljivosti ploče u Lijepoj Našoj, nažalost još je nema. Ja se nadam da bu stigla i to ubrzo.

sviđa mi se ovo, mogao bi ja to ubost kad stigne....

Jedino sto mi se ne svidja je sto nema SLI bridge konektora, to sto ne valja polozaj 24-pinskog konektora je normalno za epoxice :D
