Nije to uopće bitno, već je bitno da u siječnju iduće godine, dakle za manje od mjesec dana izlazi 5 nm CPU, OK za mobilnu telefoniju je ali ovo samo pokazuje koliko intel sve brže zaostaje, pogotovo kada se pogledaju one slikice od prije par dana na kojima su nacrtani popisi želja, a realnost je nešto sasvim drugo tu se samo plusira do u nedogled + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + --> OO = 0.

Kaj se rekordne zarade tiče, postoji još jedna firma:) koja već jedno dulje vrijeme također bilježi rekordne rekorde u području koje Intel očajno želi i nadaju se da će im njihove Xe kartice omogućiti barem mali dio tog kolača. Jedina razlika između te firme i Intela je u tome da je prva firma alfa i omega u tom tržišnom segmentu, a po pitanju zajebanosti drži lekcije Intelovim Ryan Shrout PR mudrolijama. Firma je to koja u svom arsenalu ima ama baš sve i još koji komad više da Intel u narednim godinama i popratnim pokušajima dočeka na kojekakve komade noževa, a da pritom ne trpne dvaput dok im njihov CEO smješta od svega pomalo u tak jasno najnovijim proizvodnim procesima (1 - 2). Ne bi me čudilo da se Intel ubrzo nađe u situaciji u kojoj CEO one frime s početka donosi odluku da se njihovi proizvodi u OEM formatu isporučuju isključivo i samo u kombinaciji s AMD EPYC rješenjima, jer Intel jednostavno više nije ne samo najbolji, nego ni dovoljno dobar. Intel bi se tako vrlo lako i u rekordnom roku mogel naći u raznim i ne baš previše bajnim situacijama.:)

The most high-end CPU in the Comet Lake-S lineup is the Core i9-10900K CPU with 10 cores and 20 threads. This part is confirmed to be 125W TDP SKU. This processor will feature clocks of 3.7 GHz to 5.2 GHz in boost. The new feature called Velocity Boost will unlock clock speeds up to 5.3 GHz, but only for two SKUs: 10900K and 10900 non-K.

ARM se opasno približava x86 po brzini

Ako pod "opasno" mislis "gdjegod dolazi na samo jedan red velicine slabijih performansi", onda se svakako "opasno" priblizio.

Iako mi Larabel najcesce beskrajno iritira, evo ti jedan recentniji brzi pregled tih "opasnih" brzina.

TLDR; 96c@2GHz odnosno 32c@3.3GHz ARM ni za kurac nije.

Nema to veze s patentima, prolem je sa softverskom podrskom. Vecina programa je napisana za x86 i sad se nikome ne isplati portati to na ARM.

Tu pricas samo o "desktop" segmentu. Fotošop i Word. Sva ostala ozbiljna produkcija u server svijetu uredno radi na kojecemu, pa tako i na ARM-u, tu nema greske. Samo sto se rijetko i u jako specificnim situacijama takvo sto isplati.

Ono što je moguće da se OEM "sklapači" za desktop mašine - ne neki power useri, nego recimo klasniče office + web mašine okrenu ARM-u. E to bi bio veliki udarac Intelu i AMD-u, najviše Intelu

Da, 5ghz all core (a kamoli preko) nebi trebalo biti moguće na 10 coreu, jer i ovim octama potrošnja "ide kroz krov". Pri tom ne mislim na LN2 ekipu, oni će svakako moći


Mislim ono, priča je kao da je svaki intel na 5ghz, ajmo realno koliko je ekipe sa foruma kupila i7 9700K, i9 9900K i 9900KF da uživa u 5ghz blagodatima u zadnjih godinu-dvije? Šaćica... Realnost je da u budžet segmentu i dalje prodaju lockane procesore sa base clockom od 2.9ghz i boostom od cca 3.8ghz...

Purported internal Intel doc reveals Core i9-10900K tests: Up to 30% gain in threaded work

This document includes SYSmark, SPEC, XPRT, and Cinebench benchmarks, and with the exception of Cinebench, most of these benchmarks are quite kind to Intel and are used quite frequently in Intel's internal benchmarks. That 30% performance bump comes from the SPEC benchmark, and Cinebench R15 results are just behind it with a 26% increase. Given that the 10900K is a ten-core CPU and the 9900K is only an eight core, it isn't surprising that we're seeing this kind of performance. Other benchmarks show a much lower improvement, especially XPRT which averages about 3-4% higher on the 10900K than the 9900K. This benchmark measures single-threaded performance, and since we know the architecture isn't really that different than its predecessor, it's almost certain that Intel has yet again increased clock speeds with this upcoming 10th-Gen chip. It's noteworthy that the test results peg the 10900K at a 125W TDP, but also lists a 250W TDP. The second value should represent the chips' PL2 power state that's required to hit all-core boost clock rates.

In 2019, Intel announced its Cascade Lake family of enterprise processors, and sitting at the top of the stack was the Cascade Lake-AP family: a quartet of parts that changed Intel’s paradigm for high-end processors. This hardware used two of Intel’s large 28-core silicon dies in the same package, providing a weakly linked dual-processor system in a single package, built to look like a single processor up to 56 cores and 12 memory channels with up to a 400W TDP. Despite not providing pricing, Intel is keen to promote the Xeon 9200 as its extreme performance platform up against AMD’s 64-core EPYC "Rome" offering.

One of the large OEMs was very clear that they don’t plan on stocking or reselling the Xeon 9200 system. Instead, the customers for which the Xeon 9200 might be reasonably relevant are requesting quad-socket platforms and blades. A true quad-socket system will offer more total memory than a Xeon 9200 system, can potentially support Optane, and uses socketed processors that can be adjusted and configured easily. Not only that, but the system would be easier to cool. One of Intel’s resellers gave us some insight into their contracts. This particular company deals with a number of university supercomputing contracts – those that work with separate research grants and add to their compute power over time, and perhaps spend $20k-$250k per year to build their systems. These systems might also be held off-site. These customers aren’t interested in Xeon 9200. Even bigger customers, spending $1-2m a year, aren’t looking at Xeon 9200 either.

Intel at CES 2020: 45W 10th Gen Mobile CPUs Soon, Tiger Lake with Xe Graphics Later

For CES 2020, Intel has disclosed a couple of products for consumption: moving its 10th Gen mobile CPU line in to 45 W hardware, but we also had a couple of details about the post-Ice Lake hardware, called Tiger Lake. With the 45 W mobile CPUs, it’s important to note that we are talking about Comet Lake here – Intel’s latest 14++ nm microarchitecture derived from the original Skylake but optimized from the latest Coffee Lake hardware. What this means for users is essentially a small improvement in frequency: Intel isn’t saying that much with what the new CPUs will bring at this point, but they are pointing out that they will be hitting 5.0 GHz with the new 45W Core i7 parts, and more than 5.0 GHz with the Core i9 hardware.

The other part to Intel’s disclosure at CES is Tiger Lake. What is Tiger Lake, you may ask – it’s the next mobile platform beyond Ice Lake. Bearing in mind that Intel has been speaking about Ice Lake a while, and we now finally have top tier partners with 1065G7 designs, we’re still waiting for Intel’s mid-tier and lower-tier partners to come out with the platform. So we’re still a long way away from Tiger Lake, unless Intel wants to move beyond Ice Lake quickly. However, regarding Tiger Lake specifically, Intel did confirm that it has Xe graphics. Whether this is related to the DG1 silicon that the company has spoken about recently isn’t clear, but Tiger Lake is monolithic and the Xe graphics inside will provide full INT8 support for AI workloads (which will be supported through Intel DL Boost)

To sigurno, Intel drži itekak čvrsti stisak na tom dijelu tržišta, možda AMD uspije oteti koji postotak s novom mobilnom 4000 serijom, ali Intel bude i dalje alfa i omega. Vijesti o novom LGA socketu također zvuče zanimljivo.:)

Je, nemaju drugi put:), jer 14nm im sad već opasno udara u zid. Jedino kaj taj novi pravokutni socket izgleda dosta veliko za dosadašnje desktop modele.

To je možda za dugoročno, jer će se ići na sve veći broj jezgri. Moraju biti spremni na 16+ jezgri, možda i do 32 jezgre, da ih AMD opet nebi zaskočio

Jedino kaj se sad nadolazeći LGA-1200 skoro, pa može odmah umiroviti, jer ne bude trajal dulje od godinu dana i evo opet smjena generacija na LGA-1700.

Neće ni taj 1700 možda više od 2 generacije držati, ali sam mislio dugoročno kao format tj. dimenzije. Radi buduće kompatibilnosti coolera od 10+ godina. A koliko će jezgri biti na mainstream socketima sljedećih cca 10 godina pitaj boga, ali sigurno neće biti malo i trebat će više prostora u svakom slučaju

Samo se bojim da od svega toga ne ispadne čušpajz, jer AMD je već sad počel s cijenama u stilu Intela u najboljim danima. Do 2021./2022. stignu itekakav zamah uzeti, a ovi još uvijek izmišljaju toplu vodu s 10nm.

Not a single word from Intel about Comet Lake at the CES 2020 press conference. There is a reason for this and motherboard manufacturers are not very happy because their products are all ready. But ten cores still cause some problems - and the power consumption is said to have washed. Complete motherboard series, led by the Z490 chipset, are just waiting for the go from Intel - but that won't come for a few months. Several motherboard manufacturers revealed that the ten-core break the 300-watt mark at maximum load. The high power consumption in the desktop could be one reason why no ten-core CPU has been seen for notebooks.

Nije gaming problem, ali ploča mora moći izdržati maximalne scenarije, da izbace 10 core pa da se ploča otopi svakome ko odvrti stress ili render. Ploče su kaže tekst gotove, a ovaj probija neke standarde

Pripremaju se nove revizije, jer ovo kaj sad imaju na čekanju bude u rukama korisnika završilo ko prve X299 ploče. Proizvođači su na temelju Intelovih specifikacija pripremili VRM i popratnu skalameriju koja nažalost ne može držati deseterojezgrene modele pod kontrolom. Intel s jedne strane forsira 5.0GHz+ na svemu kaj imaju u ponudi, ali jebiga - dodatne dvije jezgre i još malo viši takt - uzimaju svoj danak. Ostaje za vidjeti koliko dugo bude se predviđenih nekoliko mjeseci stvarno odužilo da se pripreme nove revizije Z490 ploča.

Here's the interesting part, the chip would also get Thermal Velocity Boost, similar to the current flagship parts. CPUs that support this algorithm, like the Core i9-10900K, would feature even faster boost frequencies of 5.3 GHz (single-core) and 4.9 GHz (all-core). However, as the name suggests, only top-tier cooling solutions would be able to allow full utilization of the Thermal Velocity Boost feature. So unless you rock a high-end AIO liquid cooler or a closed-loop setup, don't expect a sustained velocity boost but rather short bursts until the threshold is hit. It will be interesting to know the full extent of the features that this function has to offer and what kind of cooling would the Core i9-10900K requires in general.

Znači uz 4500 kn za proc, trebati će još 2500 kn za ploču i 1500 kn za hlađenje tako da proc može postići ono kako je deklariran?

Vjerujem da bude imao svoju publiku. Kod nas teško ali vani kupaca sigurno bude.

Zasad kruže glasine da bi to čudo koštalo u rangu 650/700$, znači kod nas skoro hladnih 1.000€ kad se svi lijepo namire.:) I onda kad pogledaš da HEDT Core i9-10900X ima slične taktove i iste muke u odnosu na Zen 2.
Ne bude taj mainstream model ni toliko daleko od HEDT brata. Samo da bi ga unutar godinu dana pokopali sa 10nm++ chiplet-design modelom ili kaj već budu izmislili. Nema računice za LGA-1200 kak god se okrene.
