Although Intel hasn’t revealed the official release date of the new graphics cards, many expected to see them in early January. However, if the report from IT Home is correct, Intel may be trying to avoid direct competition with Nvidia. Delaying the release by two months also gives Intel more time to ensure that the cards will offer seamless performance from the get-go.
Nvidia is rumored to release three new graphics cards in January and considering that Intel is only just entering the discrete GPU market, this will be a tough competitor to beat. Unfortunately, delaying the release of the new GPUs for Intel can also mean reduced interest when they do hit the market in March, provided that Nvidia’s new products are well-received.

An interesting quote from one of MLID's sources states that Intel could be researching a Tiled-GPU approach for its next-gen DG3 offerings. At least AMD is expected to offer a multi-chiplet graphics architecture with its RDNA 3 series and Intel might be the second GPU maker to go this route. This will also be the route for integrated graphics as we have already seen that Meteor Lake CPUs are getting a Tile design with separate CPU/GPU/SOC IPs. It is said that Meteor Lake CPUs and onwards with next-gen ARC GPUs will leave AMD in the dust on the mobile platform. AMD will be rehauling its Ryzen APUs with RDNA 2 GPU cores next month and that will deliver a huge performance uplift so Intel's true answer to them will come in 2023.

Intel Arc Update: Alchemist Laptops Q1, Desktops Q2; 4mil GPUs total for 2022

Intel will indeed ship the first Arc mobile products in the current quarter, desktop products will not come until Q2. Meanwhile, in the first disclosure of chip volumes, Intel is now projecting that they’ll ship 4mil+ Arc GPUs this year. The pre-recorded presentation from Koduri does not offer any further details as to why Intel has their much-awaited Arc Alchemist architecture-based desktop products trailing their mobile products by a quarter. We know from previous announcements that the Alchemist family is comprised of two GPUs, so it may be that Intel is farther ahead on manufacturing and delivering the smaller of the two GPUs, which would be best suited for laptops. Assuming AMD and nVidia deliver as many chips in 2022 as they did in 2021, Intel will be adding at most no more than another 10% to the overall volume of GPUs sold.

Intel’s 2023 client processor platform, Meteor Lake was previously confirmed by the company to use a chiplet/tile approach. Now the company is offering a bit more detail on their tile approach, confirming that Meteor Lake will use a separate graphics tile, and offering the first visual mock-up of what this tiled approach will look like. Now, thanks to this morning’s investor presentation, we have our first look at the graphics side of Meteor Lake. For Intel’s 2023/2024 platform, Intel isn’t just offering a compute tile separate from an IO/SoC tile, but graphics will be their own tile as well. And that graphics tile, in turn, will be based on Intel’s Arc graphics technologies – presumably the Battlemage architecture. This will put Intel roughly a year and a half to two years behind arch-rival AMD in terms of integrated graphics feature sets, as AMD’s brand-new Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” APUs are launching today with a DX12U-capable GPU architecture.

Intel plans May-June 2022 launches of Arc "Alchemist" desktop graphics cards

Intel is reportedly targeting early-Summer (May-June) for the launch of its ambitious attempt at AAA gaming graphics cards for desktops, the Arc "Alchemist" series, based on the Xe-HPG graphics architecture, according to a report by Igor's Lab. Product launches are expected anywhere between May 2 and June 1, so one could expect some market availability within Summer. The Arc "Alchemist" series is designed to be sold through a handful board partners Intel already has strong industry relations with. The Arc "Alchemist" lineup will initially target four market segments, including the performance segment, meant for maxed out AAA gaming, with XeSS possibly even enabling 4K Ultra HD gameplay. Intel's entry to the gaming graphics space is expected to introduce an element of competitive pressure against both nVidia and AMD, as the company has the financial muscle to keep investing in this market if it tastes success with "Alchemist."

I tak veli Tom da mu se nekak čini da zapravo još nemaju ništa konkretno i da se stvara dojam kak je sve prikazano zapravo izrenderirano, posebice ARC Control dio.

Taman kad Intel ARC GPU izbaci u kojoj već količini, njihovo najbolje bude lijepih dvije generacije iza AMD-a i nVidije, koji u to vrijeme na tržištu imaju RDNA 3 i Lovelace.

Da, hrpu toga su obećali i najavili, a kad vidim da ženska prilikom XeSS tech-demo materijala, prvo krene na Space tipku, tako da odpauzira unaprijed pripremljen video - pitanje je da li se pokazano uopće ikad odvrtjelo na konkretnom hardveru, odnosno da li Intel uopće ima svoje rješenje stvarno spremno ili je sve zapravo samo izrenderirano (na čijem već hardveru) u Unreal Engineu i onda dodatno filtritano (blur, sharpness, itd.), tako da se stvore side-by-side razlike. Nažalost, ne bi bilo ni prvi ni zadnji put da se nešto prikazuje onakvim kakvim bi htjeli da bude (1 - 2), mada realno nije blizu tome, ali OK - budemo pričekali finalni proizvod.

Intel Arc "Alchemist" desktop graphics cards launch pushed to late-June/July

Supply issues seem to continue to affect Intel's ambitious desktop GPU launch plans, with the Arc "Alchemist" line of desktop discrete GPUs now launching at "late Q2 or early Q3,". This would put the launch toward the end of June, or some time in July. This follows a similar trend with availability of notebooks powered by Arc "Alchemist" discrete GPUs, which are expected to be available in June, despite a March product launch. A mid-year launch risks putting Intel's nascent dGPU lineup perilously close to AMD's RX 6x50 refresh, and nVidia's RTX 40-series "Ada Lovelace" graphics cards, expected to debut across the second half of 2022. At launch, Intel's desktop graphics card lineup will include as many as five SKUs, including the Arc A380, the Arc A580, the Arc A770, and the flagship Arc A780, which is probably a Limited Edition SKU. With the rumored performance numbers we're seeing, These SKUs have the potential to impress gamers, provided they aren't obsolete at launch by next-generation models from nVidia and AMD.
