Arrow Windows aplikacije na Linuxu – praktičan popis zamjena
Mnogi koji razmišljaju o prelasku s Windowsa na Linux zapnu na istom pitanju:
"A šta s aplikacijama koje svakodnevno koristim?"

Ovaj thread je zamišljen kao praktičan popis Windows aplikacija i njihovih Linux nativnih verzija ili alternativa, fokusiran na stvarne programe koje ljudi koriste u svakodnevnom radu i zabavi.

Ako razmišljate o prelasku, ili ste ga već napravili, napišite koje vam aplikacije fale na Linuxu.
Ukoliko već znate, onda predložite alternative koje su vam se pokazale kao dobre. Cilj je svima olakšati prelazak, tko to poželi, naravno.

Bilo kakvi komentari, iskustva i prijedlozi su dobrodošli, tako da popis bude šta kvalitetniji.

Ja ću u najboljoj namjeri, i koliko mi vrijeme i volja budu dopuštali, moderirati ovaj post i održavati listu, tako da bude šta više toga dostupno čim se thread otvori.

Ukoliko popis aplikacija naraste, uvijek možete pretražiti ovaj thread sa alatima za pretraživanje ili CTRL+F.

Aplikacije su po defaultu free, osim ako do imena piše "(paid)".

Windows aplikacija: MS Office Suite ⚠️
Linux alternative:
OnlyOffice,
LibreOffice,
WPS Office
Napomena: OnlyOffice je najbliži MS Office formatima jer nativno radi s DOCX/XLSX/PPTX. WPS Office je također vrlo dobar s MS formatima i ima besplatnu verziju, a dio dodatnih funkcija je u plaćenoj verziji, dok je LibreOffice primarno ODF-first pa se kod kompleksnih dokumenata ponekad vide razlike. Kompleksni Excel VBA nije 1:1.

Linux alternative:
GIMP,
Photopea (web)
Napomena: GIMP je moćan alat, ali drugačiji workflow u odnosu na Photoshop. Photopea je web alternativa s "Photoshop" osjećajem (layeri, maske, prečaci). Neovisna je o OS-u jer se pokreće iz browsera.

Linux alternative:
DaVinci Resolve
Napomena: Profesionalan alat, ali drugačiji workflow (Linux build je služben). Postoji i plaćena Studio verzija, ali besplatna je dovoljna za većinu osobnih potreba.

Master PDF Editor (paid),
OnlyOffice,
LibreOffice Draw,
Firefox (ugrađeni PDF editor)
Napomena: Firefox je super za popunjavanje obrazaca i osnovne upise/oznaka bez dodatnih programa. LibreOffice Draw i OnlyOffice mogu uređivati PDF, ali uz ograničene mogućnosti. Za ozbiljniji PDF editing Master PDF Editor je najbliže rješenje.

Linux alternative:
InSync,
overGrive,
GNOME Online Accounts,
rclone,
google-drive-ocamlfuse
Napomena: Nema službenog Google klijenta za Linux. InSync i overGrive su najbliže "pravom" GUI sinkroniziranju, ali su plaćeni. GNOME Online Accounts je besplatan, ali s ograničenjima. rclone je besplatan i aktivno održavan (više "power-user" pristup). google-drive-ocamlfuse omogućuje mount kao mapu, ali je sporije održavan.

Linux alternative:
Remmina (Flatpak, Snap),
FreeRDP (GitHub),
Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) (Flatpak)
Napomena: Ovo su RDP klijenti za spajanje na Windows Remote Desktop (na LAN-u ili preko VPN-a). Remmina je najjednostavnija GUI opcija (RDP "klikni i radi"). FreeRDP je odličan kao CLI (xfreerdp) i baza za druge klijente. RDM je koristan ako želiš naprednu organizaciju većeg broja konekcija.

Windows aplikacija: Autodesk AutoCAD ⚠️
Linux alternative:
BricsCAD (paid),
Napomena: BricsCAD je ozbiljna profesionalna alternativa (nije besplatan): koristi DWG nativno, licenca se jednokratno plaća (bez pretplate), a kupnjom Windows licence dobiva se i Linux licenca u istoj cijeni. LibreCAD je odličan 2D CAD (DXF fokus), ali nije 1:1 zamjena za AutoCAD DWG workflow. FreeCAD je parametarski 3D, a OpenSCAD je skriptni CAD — oba super, ali nisu "AutoCAD zamjena" u klasičnom smislu.

Napomena: Double Commander je najbliži Total Commander iskustvu; MC je terminal-orijentiran; XFE je lagan GUI file manager u "klasičnom" stilu

Napomena: PotPlayer je dostupan samo za Windows. SMPlayer je dobra zamjena s grafičkim sučeljem, a ako repozitorij kasni s verzijom, SMPlayer nudi vlastite pakete (npr. Snap/Flatpak).

Kate,
GNOME Text Editor (Flatpak),
VSCodium
Napomena: Notepadqq i Kate su najbliže Notepad++ konceptu (lagan editor s tabovima i naprednijim opcijama). GNOME Text Editor je jednostavniji, a VSCodium je više IDE-alternativa nego izravna zamjena.

Napomena: Svi navedeni browseri imaju Linux verzije; Firefox je jedini na listi koji nije Chromium (koristi vlastiti engine), dok su ostali Chromium-bazirani.

Napomena: Steam ima nativni klijent za Linux (Valve). Na većini distribucija može se instalirati i putem repozitorija.

Lutris
Napomena: Epic Games Store nema službenu Linux podršku. Heroic je "nativniji" launcher za Epic, dok Lutris često pokreće Windows verziju EGS-a kroz skripte (ovisno o igri i postavkama).

Linux alternative:
LibreCAD,
FreeCAD
Napomena: Nedovoljno za kompleksne AutoCAD projekte i industrijski standard. AutoCAD nije samo CAD alat nego industrijski standard (DWG, pluginovi, LISP, workflow).
Linux alternative otvaraju DWG, ali bez potpune kompatibilnosti i bez postojećih dodataka.
Za profesionalni rad to znači previše kompromisa.
Zamjena za Autocad na Linuxu uz ova dva nabrojana je i BricsCAD, koji doduše nije besplatan, ali je vrlo dobar i za profesionalnu upotrebu. Mnogi projektni uredu u HR ga koriste jer se licenca jednokratno plaća i onda je u trajnom vlasništvu, Autocad je na pretplatu, te uz puno računala trošak nije zanemariv.

Napomena: Uz kupljenu Windows licencu za Bricscad dobiva se i Linux licenca u istoj cijeni.


P.S. Ja za posao koristim i Autocad i Bricscad, jedan na jednom računalu, drugi na drugom. Uz ta dva komada softwarea koristim i plug-in Armcad (software za izradu armaturnih nacrta). Jednom kupljen Armcad radi i na Autocadu i na Bricscadu, ali na Linuxu ne radi i to mi je najveća prepreka potpunog prelaska na Linux.

FreeCAD služi za parametarsko modeliranje, pa ne bih bih baš rekao da ga se može staviti u kategoriju "alternativa za autocad". To što radi, FreeCAD radi dosta dobro.

Zgodan CAD program s ove strane je i SCAD, koji omogućuje crtanje putem formula. Isto nije alternativa autocadu.

Solidan PDF editor je i LibreOffice Draw. To kao da mu nije svrha ali mu svejedno dobro ide. 10x bolja opcija nego neki random PDF konvertirati u docx (korištenjem jednog od milion online alata) pa onda isti editirati.

Puno ljudi to ne zna ali Firefox nudi osnovni PDF editor (kad se otvori PDF sa Firefoxom), sasvim dovoljno za popunjavanje raznih obrazaca.

Neo, možeš na spisak dodati i gaming klijente:
Steam -> Steam
Epic -> Lutris, Heroic
Gog (galaxy?) -> Lutris, Heroic

Neki tvrde da je Lutris po svemu bolji od Heroic, koji se meni pokazao sasvim OK. Povremeno se skroz izblesira pa povuci potegni dok ne skuži da se mora logirati nanovo. Ali to se meni dešava koji ga palim samo povremeno, vjerojatno oni koji koriste redovito i ne preskaču updejte nemaju takve probleme.

Po meni je najbolji player na windowsima bio i ostao potplayer. Meni dobra zamjena je smplayer, verzija kojeg zna zaglaviti u nekim repozitirijima.

Notepad++ je bio moj prvi izbor za tekstualni editor na windowsima, iako ima toga tona.

Na linuxu je kate dobra opcija a i VSCodium je stvarno OK, iako bloatan dozlaboga.

Nije vjerojatno loše spomenuti i to da linux praktično podržava nativno sve browsere i ima sijaset alternativa. Koje nisu baš nešto mainstream ready.

Nije vjerojatno loše spomenuti i to da linux praktično podržava nativno sve browsere i ima sijaset alternativa. Koje nisu baš nešto mainstream ready.
Nije loše, ali razbija koncepciju threada.
Fokus je na pitanju Win app --> Linux app ?

Većina distribucija ionako dođe sa predinstaliranim Firefoxom. Stavio sam Chrome u zaseban paragraf, skupa sa nekim drugim browserima, pa ako nekog bude nešto zanimalo po tom pitanju nek pita ovdje.

Remote Desktop Manager po pitanju RDP-a nudi podjednake mogućnosti na Windows i Linux sustavima, te općenito svim podržanim platformama.

WPS Office je dostojna zamjena za Microsoft Office paket, pa i to možete staviti na popis.

WPS Office je dostojna zamjena za Microsoft Office paket, pa i to možete staviti na popis.

nemo (cinnamon), caja (mate), thunar (xfce) - F3 i otvori se dupli u istom prozoru

vscodium aka visual studio code nije zamjena za n++, altrrnativa da. zamjene bi bile:

Koristim Remmina gdje ima i RDP i VNC...
Jedino je problem sa fractional scaling, ako je namjesteno na 125%, onda je RDP mutan. Ali oni kazu da nije do njih. Osim toga sad kad sam poslozio odlicno radi.

Ne znam jel Krita ok zamjena za Photoshop (čini se više usmjereno na art/crtanje)? U svakom slučaju meni lakša i intuitivnija alternativa nego grdi GIMP...

Zaboravil sam spomenuti u onom podužem postu, jer iskreno nije mi u tom trenu uopće palo na pamet, ali ukoliko imate ikakvu e-book kolekciju, neovisno da li je riječ o knjigama ili stripovima u popularnim (.cbr, .cbz, itd.) formatima, većina Linux distribucija nativno nudi mogućnost otvaranja i pregleda takvih izdanja. Integrirani file manageri i pripadajući PDF čitači bez problema prepoznaju i otvaraju većinu formata kad su u pitanju knjige i stripovi na Linuxu. Za napredne mogućnosti organizacije i ostalih popratnih aktivnosti, Calibre je baš kao i za Windows okruženja, dostupan za Linux platformu, tako da oni kojima trebaju takve aplikacije - nemaju prevelike brige.

Još jedna aplikacija vrijedna spomena: darktable. Ajdemo reći, photoshop za fotografije.


BTW, meni WPS office djeluje ekstremno naporno na mobitelu. Imam ga instalirano za one ekstra rijetke situacije da mi treba i svaki put je borba s raznim skočnim prozorima i budalaštinama.

Meni je najveći problem u Linuxu što nema portabilnih aplikacija. Firefox, LibreOffice, Faststone, Pot i još desetak manje važnih, svi su portabilni.


Prednost je što jednom uradim sve postavke u njima i nikad više, jer ih sa copypaste prebacujem s jednog kompa na drugi ili s jedne Windows instalacije na drugu. Ako hoću novu verziju upgrejdanje traje 10 sekundi i ostaju sve postavke.


Zna li netko je li moguće imati portabilne apps u Linuxu?

Postoji appimage koji omogućuje pokretanje aplikacije bez instalacije, međutim profili uvijek idu u home. Možda neke aplikacije dopuštaju da im se dadne putanja na profil? Nisam to nikada istraživao.

Zato Linux sve konfiguracije aplikacija sprema u Home. Prebacis Home na novi komp > prebacio si sve configove. Voila.


Ekipa mali savjet - uvijek se zapitajte kod ovakvih stvari kako Linux to hendla > najcesce guranjem Windows nacina rijesenja zaobilazite Linux benefite.

Mislim da je ipak prednost portabilnih aplikacija što one ostaju trajno portabilne. To bi bio ekvivalent syncanja home na više računala.

Centralna kanta na kojoj slozis NFS Share , okacis svakom korisniku home na privatni komp koji vuce cijeli ili samo dijelove Home-a (.config na primjer) sa te centralne kantice i mozes paralelno sa vise racunala raditi - sa istim Home-om i istim configovima za aplikacije. Been there, done that

Vjeruj mi - ak je meni radilo...(Fedora, Debian, Suse, Gentoo, Arch, Slackware i hrpa distri za koje hrpa ekipe nije ni cula , kombinacije XFCE, Gnome2,3 i KDE 3 pa nadalje)...sve sa istim home mount pointom U tome je poanta (izmedu ostalog) mount tocki - mozes bilo koji direktorij na bilo koji share ili particiju okaciti. Dakle ne moras ni cijeli home drmat - samo config dio. Nekaj slicno Roaming profilima na Windowsima ali u ovom slucaju barem pojednostavljeno. Ti radis kao svoj korisnik i na tu foru uvijek imas svugje svoj "home". S tim konstruktom mozes perverzije radit...Zavisi sve koja je svrha potrebe. E sad portable aplikacije bas ako zelis - to bu malo teze jer Linux opet drukcije hendla mnogo toga ovisno o distri i samoj verziji distre, kernela, glibc biblioteka itd ali mozda najblize bi bilo kako je konstatirao mkey - Appimage - jedino nisam siguran oko kotrole gdje te aplikacije spremaju lokalne postavke.

Appimage - jedino nisam siguran oko kotrole gdje te aplikacije spremaju lokalne postavke.
AppImage nema razlike u odnosu na klasične aplikacije, znači i dalje piše u XDG_CONFIG_HOME tj. ~/.config. Jedina razlika u odnosu na klasične aplikacije je što se svi libraryi distribuiraju u paketu koji se raspakira i pokreće kad executeaš AppImage file.

Ali kad smo kod XDG_CONFIG_HOME možda bi ovo radilo:

XDG_CONFIG_HOME=/portable/folder/.config /portable/folder/MojApp.AppImage
Tako ako app ima ispravno implementiranu XDG specifikaciju, trebao bi .config folder napraviti pored AppImage-a (ako ga imaš npr. na nekom USB driveu). Slično i za ostale dot foldere:

Nije baš svi ali to je generalna intencija. Tu i tamo mi na nekim distribucijama ne radi većina appimage pošto aplikacija očekuje određene verzije librarija koje nema lokalno.

Zato vjerojatno neće uvijek raditi nakon kopiranja Home foldera. Ne znamo gdje su svi dependencies, ovisi o ko zna čemu kao što kažeš.

To sam i mislio. Vjerojatno samo jednostavne aplikacije imaju sve lokalno a sve druge ne rade nakon kopiranja. Ima i na Windowsu nekih koje ne rade nakon kopiranja.

Ja evo da pokucam u drvo trebam još doživiti da mi neki AppImage ne radi na Archu, a probao sam ih dosta...
