Nvidia has already taken steps to reduce the amount of data leaks from their software. But, apparently they forgot about a leaked version of ForceWare 96.94. Nvidia provided this driver to the G80 reviewers and it seems that someone leaked it out. If you will open a file called “modes.txt” from the ForceWare 96.94 package, you will notice a few new G80 strings:
That particular file contains Resolution settings and Refresh Rates for the entire GeForce family. As you can see in the screenshot above, you will see
five new settings of an unnamed G80 based GPU. Yes, I’m talking about
: G80-200, G80-400, G80-600, G80-850 and G80-875. Every one of these devices already appears in the “modes.txt” file and has a unique device ID. Since there are already records, we can assume that nVidia is currently testing these and have plans for them.
