i have a powercolor 9700 np, with infineon ram. everyone kows how this ram overclocks like crap. well i figured out how to get mine up to 324/306 flawlessly. before i was only able to get 324/293 before artifacts would apper. i tried aleast 10 different bios, and still nothing. i almost gave up. i came across a discovery that you infineon(powercolor 9700) owners are going to love me for.

HERES how you fix the low overclock problem.first you need the 9700 infineon bios. the bios name is 97PinfIN.bin. when you open the bios it will clearly say "9700 infineon bios". i have seen the same bios under several names and they are all the same. here is the good part. you must use the old version of radedit to do this, the latest version does not have the option we are going to change. open up your infineon bios with the older version of radedit. you will see a field that says "memory timings" and it is set to DDR-CAS2(normal).

WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IS change it to CAS1. once again the only thing you want to do is change cas2 to cas1. also lower the memclock from 310, i used 303 after i made sure i could run that speed stable. SAVE YOUR BIOS. FLASH IT BABY. to be safe set it to like 303, then clock it higher later on with powerstrip or rage3dtweak.

THERE YOU HAVE IT....AMAZING, i thought i would never see these speeds. i tried it with different bios, but it only seem to work with the infineon ones. every since i got my card i have been trying to reach pro speeds, finally getting 324/306 stable. praises to whoever wrote radedit. the "cas" setting definately should be brought back to the newer version of radedit.

THIS HAS WORKED FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE, i have recieved emails giving thanks. my email address is medafor1@cox.net if you need any bios files

tips:
my card smokes now, the difference is day and night, all my game run smooth as hell. your memory speeds will read double from now on in some apps, like powerstrip .what i mean is, instead of you memory reading 308, it will read 616 in an overclock utilities like powerstrip).also dont try to set memory timings to SDR or CAS3, i tried already while experimenting, you get major graphic corruption. also, once you install the drivers your card will read as 9700 pro in windows. i am not sure if setting the CAS to 1 on other cards will have the same effect, but it may.
copy&paste sa Rage3D foruma. Kompletni thread.
