Lawson could be demoted as soon as the next race in Japan, likely in a swap with current Red Bull second team driver Yuki Tsunoda. The report from Motorsport includes two very notable quotes, first from Lawson, who told Sky Sports F1 that the challenge of getting used to Red Bull's difficult-to-drive car was going to take time. He followed that up by saying, "Unfortunately, I don't really have time." That alone is surprising proof Lawson knows his position may be in peril. The surprise becomes alarming when combined with what Helmut Marko said when Motorsport asked for a comment on the quote. Marko, simply, said that "[Lawson] is right."
