Modders found a way to inject AMD FSR4 support to any DLSS2+/XeSS games
Citiraj:
The FSR4 technology launched last week alongside the Radeon RX 9070 series only works on these graphics cards. FSR4 has not been ported or modified to work with RDNA3 cards, so there’s no point in enabling this technology unless you have an RDNA4 GPU. It turns out that modders have found a way to inject FSR4 support, and the tool for this is called Optiscaler. It’s a tool that will enable support for FSR2, FSR3, FSR4, and also XeSS in games that already have the DLSS upscaler enabled. Likewise, it also works the other way around, if the game has FSR or XeSS only, users can inject DLSS support but it may be more complicated. Essentially, this is what Microsoft should have done with upscaling support through DirectSR. However, this technology hasn’t seen much interest from GPU vendors, except for AMD, which provides FSR3.1 support natively.
