AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D official performance leak: 8% better at gaming, 15% in multi-threaded apps vs. 7800X3D
Citiraj:
AMD is set to launch its first Ryzen 9000 processor equipped with 3D V-Cache on November 7th. We are still two weeks away from this launch, but given the interest from our community, we pulled some strings to get more information as quickly as possible. AMD has yet to confirm which SKU is launching on November 7th, but it is no secret at this point that the 8-core CPU is what everyone is waiting for. We obtained a marketing description of the upcoming CPU from one of our sources that confirms the most important details on the new series, including gaming performance.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is now expected to yield 8% higher gaming performance than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is considered by many to be the best gaming CPU on the market. AMD is also anticipating a 15% improvement over the 7800X3D in multi-threaded workloads. The description mentions “next-generation 3D V-Cache,” a 96MB L3 configuration that is said to feature better thermal performance than the previous generation, which unlocks clock speeds up to 5.2 GHz. Some of our readers expected higher clocks, but this seems indeed to be the boost clock.
