Ocito nisam jedini koji je zakljucio da se nV orijentirala na efikasniji i "hladniji" dizajn:

NVIDIA’s goals this round were to improve performance but more so, they set out to improve efficiency through a better manufacturing process, using less power, and reducing the number of transistors. I’d say they managed those goals well. We are very impressed with the effort that has gone into the G71 and G73 technologies in order to make them power-friendly GPUs.
ATI’s goals were a little different this past refresh. ATI knew they had to elevate performance so they added more ALU processors, increased transistors, which increased heat. NVIDIA already had 48 ALUs with their last-generation part and added very few features in this new GPU. The move to a smaller manufacturing process allowing for a more efficient pipeline design means NVIDIA has actually scaled back on the number of transistors that are present in this superior GPU. The reduction in transistors and the smaller die size mean this is more power-friendly and temperature-friendly GPU that can result in better yields for NVIDIA’s production as well.

I inace su smanjivanje temp. disipacije i bolji "performance per watt" trend u zadnje vrijeme medju proizvodjacima chipova (Intel, AMD, nVidia... cekamo ATi

)
