AMD AGESA 1007B update improves high-speed DDR5 memory support for AM5 platform, 8000 MT/s teased on $223 B650 board
Citiraj:
AMD AM5 platform development has come a long way, and it appears that the latest AGESA 1.0.0.7 update, which is now available for some motherboards, and it is scheduled to be released later this month for others, shows significant improvement for DDR5 memory support. The new AGESA is said to improve new memory synchronization mode which shows better compatibility and stability with high-speed memory modules. The new update which is already deployed for ASRock, shows that even on a relatively cheap sub-$300 motherboard gamers can see DDR5-8000 memory working, although it may need tinkering with the settings to get it full stable. The new BIOS is said to maintain the 1.3 SOC voltage, but it is possible to run high-speed memory even at 1.2V. This is still within the limits advised by AMD.
