This morning, Guillemot officially announced its new GeForce 256 card, ominously called the 3D Prophet. Even though the GeForce 256 can handle upward of 128 megabytes of memory, the 3D Prophet will "only" ship with 32 megabytes of SDRAM. A TV-out port is also included in the card for those who like to play games on their big screens. No juicy details, like the card's final clock and memory speeds or overclockability, were revealed, however.
"Guillemot aims to offer the ultimate graphics card. After the success of our Maxi Gamer Xentor 32, based on the Riva TNT2 Ultra, our strategic partnership with nVidia leads us to take the experience one step further and revolutionize 3D gaming," said Guillemot president Claude Guillemot. "That's why we decided to name our new accelerator '3D Prophet.'"
