Armed with eight P cores and eight E cores for a total of 24 threads, the Core i9-12900K beats the 12c/24t Ryzen 9 5900X in nearly all our tests. On average, the new Intel flagship is 5% faster. Overall performance of the Core i7-12700K is very impressive given its positioning. The new processor is 15% faster than the previous generation i7-11700K, 10% faster than AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and just 5% behind the more expensive Ryzen 9 5900X. The i5-12600K ends up at least 6% faster than the Ryzen 5 5600X, and faster than all the other Ryzens.
