The 3870x2 cards have 3 LED's 2 of them are power lights and illuminate when one of the power connectors isnt connected and the 3rd is the critical temperature light and only comes on when it gets super hot. So either one of your power connectors is not making good contact causing issues or its getting too hot, depending on the LED in question. It should have little names next to them on the PCB so you know which is which. If the power cables are correctly connected there could be a lose connection somewhere on the PCB board I guess.
