Deore is a better gruppo and will be more reliable in the long run, but in the interest of saving a couple of bucks I would keep the front derailleur, then change the shifters and rear derailleur. Deore shifters are MUCH better than Alivio. Also, Alivio chainrings cannot be changed while Deore can which will increase the life of the component.

The X-9 trigger shifter got bumped down to X-7 with the introduction of the "yes-obtanium" version of the X-0 trigger at X-9. But I think everything else is the same.

Shimano fans will disagree, but I believe that the 1:1 (ISH) actuation ratio keeps the system stable requiring practically no adjustment.
