Intel P45 and G45 Eaglelake info
 

In the second quarter 2008 , intel will release the desktop chipsets Intel eaglelake. They will propose support to PCI express 2.0 for the wide population, and the south bridges series ICH10 will forget about old interfaces as PCI, PS/2, COM and LPT. The memory controller in eaglelake chipsets will preserve compatibility with DDR- 3 and DDR-2.

Eaglelake chipset found the proper names: Intel p45 for the discrete version and Intel g45 for the integrated version. This Last has the graphic core GMA x4500 with directX 10 support , which will be three times more productive than graphic system in chipset intel g33. This chipset will also support interfaces DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. The decoding of high quality video from blu-ray disks and HD DVD will be accelerated at the hardware level.

In the third quarter 2008 , intel will present Eaglelake- Q chipset , which will find use in corporate segment. Let us recall that the south bridges series ICH10 will also move in the chipset tylersburg-DT, which will ensure the support of nehalem generation processors in the fourth quarter 2008. In the third quarter the portion of eaglelake chipsets will exceed 20%.

We note that the wholesale cost of chipset intel x48 will be $70- much more expensive than Intel x38 ($50); . We hope that this additional payment is not only due to the support of DDR 3-1600 and 1600 MHz system bus, but for the improved overclocking potential.

Nekako mi se čini da će bit puno ploča koje je kombinirati ICH9R i P45 jer ajde LPT, COM i PS/2 ok i bez toga se može danas ali obični PCI ne vjerujem da će se baš tako lako otpisati...

da, to za PCI se i meni cinilo lose....zamisli sve one sa onim skupim zvucnim karticama...hehe...ziher ce prec na novi chipset..mos mislit...

EN samo to nego čaki i hardcore gameri koji oće imati Physix ili ekipa koja ima TV kartuše, mnogi kontroleri za storage su još na PCI (firewire, eSATA) neznam ja sigurno nebi kupio takvu ploču za svoj komp...

WTF?! Odbacuju PCI?! Ne. Ne mogu, ne smiju! :D

Bravo intel to je trebalo već i prije napraviti...
DIE LEGACY

Samo kad bi bilo dostojnog PCI-E X1 hardvera u Hrvata, bilo bi super :smoke:

Ne lupaju svi pimpekom po LCD monitoru kad uzivaju u svojem novom 3D gaymerskom naslovu u bijesnoj rezoluciji i strepe nad HEPovim racunom na kraju godine.

Recimo, jedini razlog zbog kojeg sam ja uzeo plocu iz svoje konfiguracije (iako se pokazala neopravdano skupom) jest cinjenica da ima LPT, PCI i COM portoce. LPT trosim zbog programatora i printera, COM zbog multimetra i craddlea za palm a PCI zbog SCSI kontrolera, tj. SCSI diska.

Igrom slucaja mi treba i kolika tolika procesorska moc, a 3x PCI-E 16x (fizickih) slotova mi je taman leglo. Stoga vjerujem da ce Intel imati rezona drzati "legacy" portove jos dosta vremena.

BTW, mislim da uopce nema razloga eksplicitno izbacivati LPC bus podrsku iz SB-a. Vjerojatno ce ona jos jaaako dugo ostati unutra, makar i skrivena.
