nVidia launched a new driver today. Although it has been available through nZone fan-sites for some time now, the company received WHQL certification and posted the drivers on its own behalf. Under the name 84.21, the new driver brings improvements in PureVideo codec (H.264 acceleration for GeForce 6/7) and serious improvement in performance in the favourite game of most nV execs - F.E.A.R. The performance increase is similar to the one ATI experienced back at the time of X1800 launch - with 84.21, you get around 30-40% when enabling anti aliasing. The most moderate performance improvement, 17% was noted on a 6600 DDR2 card, while 7800GTX 256MB now finally has a playable framerate when 4xAA is enabled, giving a 38% performance boost. Most of the problems resolved were related to Dell's 30-inch monitor. The resolution of 2560x1600 brought some problemss for various nV products, which are mostly resolved with this revision of drivers.

E sad, koliko se isplati prijeći s 84.20 na 84.21 je pitanje. Navodno su to manje više isti driveri, ali s ovima dođe jako lijepo povećanje brzine u FEAR-u. Pa ako igraš FEAR samo naprijed :D

Svakako preporucam 84.21 nad 84.20... Puno bolje performanse... Stavio sam ih danas...i rade fenomenalno... ;)

...u kojim igrama si primjetio razliku ?

U NVidia demosima, 3DMarkovima, Doom3, FEAR, ... nisam jos probao dosta toga jer nemam instalirano...

Koliko sam ja čitao, jedina razlika između 84.20 i 84.21 je to što su 21 WHQL certificirani

nVidia has has informed us they will be releasing a new driver on Wednesday March 22nd at NZone. This new version ForceWare 84.25 will contain specific performance enhances to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion being released Monday the 20th. Our developer relations team worked closely with Bethesda to optimize game performance, which also included making some driver changes to fix/enhance performance in certain areas. Our performance testing shows no two benchmark runs are identical in exterior scenes, due to Oblivion randomly placing grass and rocks, changing the amount of grass, and varying other aspects of the terrain. We will most likely be adding this game to our video card gaming test suite. So if you are looking forward to this game as much as we are be sure to pick up this new driver when it is released.
