Slozio sam u vmware-u jedan lab sa serverom 2008 i 3 xp pro sp3.
DHCP i DYDNS rade normalno (recordi i ptr-ovi), nslookup radi, remote connection radi(i po Ip-u i po hostnameu)...
Kad ukucam net view izbaci error 6118 na svim virtualkama. Jednako tako u my network connections nemam prikazane hostove nego samo server.

6118 means The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available, mostly it is due to the firewall protection blocks the SMB.

You can check as following steps

first check each pc is in the same workgroup.
disable the firewall and virus protect in each PC.
Ping PC2 from PC1 to ensure the network is ok
net view \PC2 from PC1 to check if it is ok.

Nasao sam i ja to, problem je u tome sto ne znam sta me blokira u Firewallu. Kad maknem FW onda sve prolazi. Ocito neki port ili sl moram otvoriti, a ne znam koji.
EDIT: Koliko sam skuzio, zaboravio sam na hostovima ukljuciti file&printer sharing kao FW exception.
