Nastavljamo dalje u revijalnom tonu, a ukoliko ste bili mišljenja da je Zen 4 podbacil u svakom pogledu, onda nasljednik u vidu Zen 5 arhitekture i Ryzen 9000 modela, nikoga ne ostavlja ravnodušnim. Konkretnog pomaka u performansama zapravo nema, a razočaranje je u toj mjeri tim veće da su se odmah kreirale nove marketinške kampanje i popratni slogani sadržavajući Zen 5% uz prikladne FAIL i FLOP epitete diljem službenih recenzija. AMD je s ovom generacijom upropastil i ono malo preostale dobre volje kod publike i kritike, jer Zen 5 više podsjeća na Bulldozer fijasko, nego na nešto što je prema očekivanjima i temeljeno na skroz novoj arhitekturi, trebalo biti dodatno pojačanje u inače sasvim solidnoj Zen ponudi.

AMD-u ovo nije trebalo, posebice kad se k početnim izuzetno lošim Zen 5 dojmovima, dodaje činjenica kupnje opet novih ploča baziranih na 800 seriji čipseta, koje ne donose ništa novo, jer čipset je identičan onome iz prošle 600 serije ploča i još je k tome riječ o SoC I/O jezgri koja se nalazi u samim procesorima koji za normalan rad uopće ne trebaju čipset na ploči. Proizvođači matičnih ploča vole svake godine zaraditi nofce, pa ASMedia (inače u ASUS vlasništvu) štanca AMD čipsete u tolikoj mjeri da se svi namire, jer su zahvaljujući Intelovoj dominaciji i monopolu naučili na fine stvari u životu i ne dolazi u obzir da im AMD kvari posložene planove.:)

StručLJaci spominju i servere, ali stječe se dojam kao da i nisu previše bitni u cijeloj priči, tako da se ne bi htel miješati. AMD je u međuvremenu izbacil i poprilično popularan 9800X3D model, koji je dodatno podigel sveopće dojmove, a krajnji kupci su unatoč i(li) usprkos marketingu skužili da nove ploče iz 800 serije nisu nove, ni potrebne, tako da se većina sa Zen 5 odlučila iskombinirati prijašnju, a ništa lošiju 600 seriju ploča uz obavezan upgrade BIOS-a.

Obzirom da su se Tjmax 75°C, 105W TDP i 142W PPT BIOS postavke pokazale i više nego dostatne za 7950X koji se već skoro dvije godine veselo vrti, odlučil sam identične postavke iskoristiti za novi 9950X, koji u tom režimu radi bez previše prigovora. Pod punim opterćenjem 9950X se "prži" na temperaturi od ~76°C uz ~132W maksimalne potrošnje, a onda se po potrebi kroz uključeni Global C-States Control, automatski prilagođava tzv. šparnost sustava i tu (idle/stanje mirovanja) 9950X pada na svega 12W uz ugodnih ~35°C do ~40°C. Linux za razliku od Windows OS-a, od samog početka radi kak spada sa Zen 5 skalamerijom, tako da je sa svakim novim kernelom i pratećim optimizacijama, ionako dobar temelj, samo dodatno pojačan, dok se s brojem sličica u sekundi uopće nisam zamaral. Tako da je 9950X iGPU baziran na RDNA 2 i više nego dovoljan za potrebe virtualnih mašina i općenito za moje potrebe rada u svemu što ne traži jaču dediciranu grafičku karticu.
