Ako pogledamo moj osvrt na godišnja izvješća AMD-a za 2014. i 2015. u temi "Vishera", stanje s financijama i prodajom bilo je katastrofalno i nije bilo ZEN arhitekture koja bi mogla nagovjestiti dolazak boljih dana za AMD, a kamoli završavanje poslovne godine u plusu.

Uz svu tu zaradu, dobit, profit i praktički neograničen R&D budžet, veliki Intel uz svu silu inženjera jednostavno trenutno nema odgovor na ovo kaj mali do jučer skoro bankrotirani AMD u posljednje dvije godine plasira na tržište. Krajnji korisnici su zahvaljujući tome dobili šestero i osmerojezgrene Intel i AMD procesore koje srednji tržišni segment još koju godinu ne bi vidjel, barem ne po ovakvim cijenama. I to je poanta svega, jer kolko imamo prilike vidjeti - Intel je itekak svjestan činjenice da AMD ni u najluđim snovima ne raspolaže takvim financijama, a opet su u stanju ne samo konkurirati, već i nametati tempo daljnjeg razvoja. AMD vrlo vjerojatno nikad ne bude ni blizu Intelovim financijama ili ljudskim resursima, ali po svemu sudeći - i ne trebaju biti.

Intel’s 10th Gen ‘Comet Lake’ Desktop CPU Lineup Allegedly Leaks Out

The Intel Core i9-10900KF is rumored to be the flagship SKU of the lineup, featuring 10 cores and 20 threads. Based on the price, it will be competing against the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X which offers a total of 12 cores and 24 threads. The chip is clocked at 3.4 GHz base and 5.2 GHz single core boost clock. The chip features 20 MB of cache, a 105W TDP and has a pricing of $499 US. Intel still won’t be matching AMD’s higher core count on the mainstream platform but looking at the recent AMD Ryzen 3000 reviews, we note that Intel still has a leading position when it comes to single-core and gaming workloads so the 10 core is expected to take the lead further.

Intel Core i7-10700K Flagship 8 Core, Core i5-10600K 6 Core, and Core i3-10350K Specifications

The other chips to talk about are the top tier SKUs of each Core segment. For Core i7, we have the Core i7-10700K, an 8 core and 16 thread part which features clock speeds of 3.6 GHz base and 5.1 GHz boost. The processor offers 16 MB of cache and has a TDP of 95W. Since the Core i7-10700K doesn’t have the “F” suffix with it, it does come with the Intel UHD 730 iGPU and has a pricing of 389 USD. The chip should be positioned against the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X which is also an 8 core & 16 thread part.

The Core i5-10600K is a 6 core and 12 thread part which has a base clock of 3.7 GHz base and 4.9 GHz boost. The chip has 12 MB of cache and has a TDP of 95W. This chip has a pricing of $229 US which positions it against the Ryzen 5 3600X, a $249 US chip. There’s also the Core i5-10400 which is a 6 core and 12 thread part with frequencies of 3.0 GHz base and 4.2 GHz boost with a TDP of 65 Watts and a price of $179 US which is positioned well below the $199 US Ryzen 5 3600. Lastly, we have the Core i3-10350K which is a 4 core and 8 thread part that features a base clock of 4.1 GHz and a boost clock of 4.8 GHz. This chip has 9 MB of cache and a TDP of 91W. The pricing is said to be $179 US while offering better specs than the Core i7-7700K which retail over $350 US.

The entry-level Core i3-10100 also has 4 core and 8 threads with a base clock of 3.7 GHz base and 4.4 GHz boost. The chip will offer 7 MB of cache and 65W at $129 US. You can find the entire specs of this rumored lineup in the following table.

Intel LGA 1159 Socket, New Platform Required For 10th Gen? – DDR4-3200 Native Support

In addition to all the details, the datasheet also lists down a new socket for the 10th Generation lineup. The new socket is rumored to be LGA 1159 so that would point to no compatibility with existing LGA 1151 motherboards. This also means we will be looking at a new chipset. Internally. Intel already has 400-series chipsets ready for their mobile platform (Ice Lake) so we should be expecting Z490 series on the new motherboards.

The Comet Lake family is the continuation of the several refreshes of the 14nm Skylake architecture that we got to since 2015 and looks like the latest one to receive it will be the 10th Gen family.

Lako za to da sad već opako tapkaju na mjestu s 14nm proizvodnim procesom, ali ove Intel Core i9-10900KF oznake modela su bedastoća samo takva.

Tko zna, možda nije istinito?


Jer pravit novi socket, za skoro 5 god. staru uarch i 2 jezgre više... Još svjesno izbaciti flagship sa manje jezgri od konkurencijinog drugog proizvoda po hijerarhiji, također sa slabijim IPC je samo od još jedan od niza dokaza slabosti i tehnološkog zaostajanja...


Ja sam mislio da će intel naguziti clock do kraja na 8 core i tu stati, te ništa ne izdavati nakon zen2 dok stvarno ne bude bolje (znači nova jezgra i novi node), te eventualno možda malo predugo imati te procesore u ponudi. Jer je sve drugo potez očajnika. Al ovo bi bio potez spašavaj što se da spasiti... U neku ruku ih razumijem jer kažem 4 AMD-ov proizvod po hijerarhiji (3700x) trejda blows sa njihovom i9 9900K perjanicom u svemu osim u gamingu

Možda i nije, ali bome ne bi bilo čudno da je sve već spremno i samo se čeka dogovoreni datum. Oni na sva zvona pričaju da imaju 10nm u opticaju i da ih je tržište jako dobro prihvatilo, tak je ovo kap u moru PR gluposti.

Slabiji IPC ali puno viši klok, boost na 5.2 se mora osjetiti, ostaje za vidjeti na koliko drže sve jezgre. Također ovi 6/12 i5 na 4.9 bi bili brutalno jaki.
