Te "male" jezgre na Alder Lake procesoru bi navodno trebale imati IPC jednak kao i Skylake jezgre. Ali ih neće moći nasvirati na 5 GHz, tako da neće biti previše koristi od njih za gaming, a ni za multi thread.

Tako je, a i bolje/lakše im je složiti osam tih manjih jezgri, nego npr. još dvije ili četiri dodatne veće, jer onda su opet na 10C/20T ili samo 12C/24T modelu, a ovak fino mogu reći da imaju 16C kao i AMD.

Sve što Intel radi i plasira u eter od 2017., pa do danas, a i vrlo vjerojatno nadalje, neodoljivo podsjeća na razvoj situacije otprije skoro 20 godina (1 - 2).

Starting in 2001, the threat from competition became salient at Intel. Intel’s biggest CPU competitor, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (“AMD”), had begun developing x86 chips that not only competed with Intel’s offerings, but were in many ways more desirable. Business customers and consumers increasingly sought AMD-based computers. OEMs began to comply. In response, Intel launched an illegal campaign to deprive AMD of distribution channels and consumers of product choice and lower prices. In order to achieve exclusivity or severe limitations on an OEM’s purchase and offering of AMD products, Intel paid hundreds of millions – in some cases billions – of dollars in “rebates.” At the same time, Intel threatened OEMs with retaliation if they persisted in dealing with AMD. For example, in exchange for billions of dollars in rebate payments and other benefits, Dell agreed not to sell any AMD products from 2001 to 2006. In 2002, Intel reached an agreement with HP – subsequently extended to 2004 – which, in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars, capped HP’s sales of AMD-based business desktop PCs at 5%, guaranteeing Intel 95%. Intel also exacted agreements from HP limiting the ways in which HP could distribute AMD’s products, thereby inhibiting AMD’s ability to reach even the 5% mark.

Tako da kad Alder Lake stigne na tržište, gospoda Ryan Shrout (1 - 2) i Principled Technologies (1 - 2) odmah mogu izbaciti "real-world" rezultate testiranja u kojima Intel pobjeđuje sve što AMD nudi.

Pazi pazi. Jedno je socket a drugo čipset i "podrška" istog za novi procesor

Nema straha, Intel se općenito drži zacrtanih planova i programa (1 - 2 - 3), tako da LGA-1700 sigurno ostaje jedno dogledno vrijeme. 10nm stiže s laganih 5 godina zakašnjenja, pa ako uistinu ostave novi socket 3 godine - svaka čast.

Back in 2013, Intel envisoned its 10nm to succeed the 14nm by providing 2.7x density, with new technologies such as Self-Aligned Quad Patterning (SAQP), Contact over Active Gate (COAG), Cobolt Interconnects, and new packaging technologies such as EMIB and Foveros. Intel originally planned to commence shipments of its first processors made using their 10 nm fabrication technology in the second half of 2016. The first rumors about Intel’s problems with the tech started to spread in early 2015 as the company delayed the installation of equipment needed for its 10 nm manufacturing process. Then, in July 2015, the chip giant confirmed intentions to postpone 10 nm HVM from H2 2016 to H2 2017 due to difficulties incurred by multipatterning. Over the course of 2016 and 2017 we learned that Intel was prepping Cannon Lake (mobile, entry-level desktops), Ice Lake (higher-end client PCs, servers), and Tiger Lake chips on their 10 nm node. We also heard about various problems that Intel faced with its 10 nm technology, but the company refuses to comment on them.

Je, namjerno su tak složili slajdove, jer sad svi pričaju kak je Intel puno jeftiniji od AMD-a, a onda uspoređuju OEM i MSRP cijene i 11900K vs. 5900X pri čemu Intel nudi 50% bolje performanse i košta manje.

LOL, a jedino zbog čega su živnuli nedavno na tržištu su dobre cijene.

Ma tragikomedija, a najgore od svega da svom silom žele Rocket Lake prikazati kao superioran svemu pod Suncem, a nema nikakve računice da jedan 11900K vrijedi skoro 300$ više od još uvijek aktualnog 10850K. Neovisno o AMD-u, Intelova vlastita prošlogodišnja, a još uvijek aktualna i ništa lošija generacija, djeluje itekak bolje i isplativije od ovoga kaj spremaju za kraj mjeseca. I naravno, ljudi diljem Interneta se nadaju da će finalne službene recenzije na neku suludu foru pokazati drukčije rezultate, odnosno da Rocket Lake ispada puno bolji od Zen 3 modela, dok je ujedno jeftiniji i hladniji, te općenito primamljiviji izbor.

Propali, gotovo bankrotirani intel sa pretpotopnim tehnologijama i procesima , no ajde, barem mu za utjehu ostaje da za 95% ili više ekipe Core i5-10400F ostaje i dalje najbolji deal na tržištu.
