Welcome to Kivan, a new indie RPG from...

At the welcome screen, you create your character. Your character has a triangle presented with a grid inside of it. On top of the triangle is LAWFULL, to do lower right is CHAOTIC, and to the lower left of the triangle is NEUTRAL. This is basically your characters mentality. You must pick a dot somewhere within the triangle.

Next you should pick your duty. Pick either DAMAGE, or HEALER, or TANK. Then pick your gender and then pick your avatar. When finished, type in your character name.

When the game loads, you will see a first person view of your surroundings in visually stunnning graphics, made by Cryengine 5.

At the bottom middle of your screen is a small button on which it is written AI OFF. If you press your spacebar key, the button will change into AI ON, and your character will start moving. What exactly will he do is determined by your previously chosen mentality (triangle). If you do not wish to turn AI on, you can move the character yourself by moving the mouse to look, and by using WASD keys to move in desired direction.

On the left of your screen is a vertical bar with some bubbling liquid in it, and it is written SYNERGY on it, letter below letter. Above it, it states that it is at 100%. Synergy is basically your combat damage and combat resistances bonus. It is currently at 100% because you are alone. When in a party, synergy depends on mentalites (that triangle) of all the players involved. The more players have the same or similar mentality, the bigger the bonus.

You can press "i" on your keyboard to open inventory where you will see what you currently have in your backpack, how much it weighs and your encumberance. You can simply right click on any item to do default action. Right clicking at any time on armor will wear it, and during a trading screen, will place it for sale. Even in party, you only have your own things. You must trade something for something you want from someone else.

You can press "c" on your keyboard to open your character screen, and add points to your attributes, which are, from top to bottom: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck. When you level, you can assign points into your attributes here. You can also export your character, or your entire party on our web, and you can allow others to import your character or you can import theirs.

You can press "k" on your keyboard to open your skills window. You will notice that all skills are available to you, and are level 1. As you use a skill repeatedly, it levels, granting higher stats.

AOE skills are the most damaging skills in the game, and chaotic characters tend to use them a lot. AOE skills damage everything. Structures, friendly folks and enemies alike, so they should be avoided unless you only care about your own hide. A Lawfull character seldom uses them, while a neutral character weighs out all the options before resorting to such measures. You can pick 5 skills and place them on your skill slot, plus one ULTIMATE, but you cannot change your skills setup during combat.

There is no map or journal in game. Therefore, there are no quests. However, there is a compass at the top middle of the screen, and if anyone tells you how to get to a point of interest, it will be marked on your compass.

Things tend to happen in the world of Kivan. Your cousin, for example, may suffer a stroke and leave you a fortune, you may accidentally kill someone innocent and end up in prison, you or your followers may die in combat or through other means, wars on a big or small scale may start because of a beautiful woman, or almost anything else imaginable. You may steal from someone who has powerfull friends and end up with a bounty on your head, it's up to you. Or your AI. NPC's have AI on by default, and they actually think for themselves which skills to use, conversation options and such. Loot is decided by pulling straws. You only move your character, any party assembled of NPC's will move, fight and talk automatically.

World of Kivan lasts approximately one month of Real Life Time, after which you are given a score with all your achievements accumulated during this time. You may upload your score and compare it with others.

Multiplayer is very much possible and you are encouraged to join others in their worlds.
