People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. Javljaju mi se opet iz cruciala (opet netko drugi, svaki put netko drugi potpisuje mail) da prije nego što pošaljem (dakle 3 dana nakon što su mi dali RMA broj i nakon što sam naručio i platio GLS) ipak prođem još x koraka, od kojih sam x/2 već prošao i poslao im sve dokumentirano.

Mislim da nisam naveo ovdje, na kraju sam, ne budi lijen, spojio disk sa drugim SATA kabelom na drugi port, stisno zube i logirao se u windows (prazni password mi je isteko, samo stisneš enter i on potvrdi promjenu lozinke i ulazi unutra, kakva lakrdija) te koristio onu crucial aplikaciju da provjeri firmware, koji je naravno bio up to date. Crystal DiskMark potvrdio write speed 15 MB/s. Disk je banana.

It’s the start of the work week, so for the IT administrators among us, I have another great article by friend of the website, Stefano Marinelli. This article covers migrating a Proxmox-based setup to FreeBSD with bhyve.
The load is not particularly high, and the machines have good performance. Suddenly, however, I received a notification: one of the NVMe drives died abruptly, and the server rebooted. ZFS did its job, and everything remained sufficiently secure, but since it’s a leased server and already several years old, I spoke with the client and proposed getting more recent hardware and redoing the setup based on a FreeBSD host.

Ljetos sam migrirao nekoliko linux i windows virtualki sa hyperv na proxmox. Ni sad ne vjerujem koliko je bilo bezbolno.

KVM/Qemu/libvirt su po meni najfleksibilnije opcije u moru virtualizacijskih rijesenja. Proxmox ima svoje buhe ali ako te nije strah zaprljati ruke na Linux razini , Proxmox kao baza je dosta mocno (iako ponekad bugovita i van svake pameti kad prosiris na Cluster sa 2-3 Node-a) rijesenje. I iskreno jedino sto vidim kao bolje i mnogo ozbiljnije je RHE-V i Ovirt ali to nikome doma za Homelab ne treba.

Proxmox po meni ima jos jednu prednost a to je sto ima riješenje za backup (uz samu replikaciju putem ZFS-a ako se netko odluci na takvo riješenje). Radim dosta sa oVirt-om i learning curve je zbilja cudan.

Nije tema ali valja zaokružiti cjelinu Crucial support je genialan. I dalje mi šalju mailove, i svaki put je netko drugi u potpisu. Abdullah, Undefined, Martin, Mohammed, Andrea, Aryan i konačno Sushmaa I naravno izgleda da međusobno uopće ne komuniciraju. Ja sam mislio da su ovi moji u firmi i ja skupa s njima šaka jada, ali za ove smo izmislili support.

Pa naravno da ne komuniciraju, vide otvoren tvoj ticket i svako mu pristupa od 0 kada dođe u smjenu.
Očito nemaju opcija upisa poduzetih radnji u ticket...ko zna kako im je sve to tamo složeno...sretno si sa time, svakako javi ishod.

Ali ocekivati da ce nekakav L1 support s njime debugirati ili pokazati veci entuzijazam od kopiranja generickih smjernica za ostvarivanje garancije - to se naprosto nece dogoditi.

Pred mnogo godina sam imao problema sa Genius misem (nit 100 kunica bilo) i rijesio ga sa supportom. 1 osoba, 3 mejla i rijesen problem. Ono kaj mene smeta u danasnje vrijeme je da bez obzira na cijenu proizvoda mnoge firme daju support preko fejsa (sto nemam) ili chatboota, nemas nikakav support mejl za komunikaciju. Chat eventualno gdje ili zavrsis kod Indijca pa se mozda dogovoris (ak ne pukne chat pa sve ispocetka) ili u AI chatbot koji dosad nikad al nikad nije bio od neke pomoci (hint: Amazon, cijena artikla u vrijedonosti 2600 Eura). Mejlom kad sam morao nekog kontaktirati cak i ako sam zavrsio kod drugog djelatnika najcesce nisam morao sve ispocetka objasnjavat. Nema sad to tolko veze direktno sa Cruacial-om ni BX-om nego sto to isto se dogada precesto. A da ne pocnemo i 1st level supportu a.k.a. Service Desk u mnogim firmama (barem moje iskustvo sa vecinom teleoperatera / ISP supporta u HR i u DE).

Na žalost znamo kako i zašto: gofno menađerčić kaže da support ne treba ili da se plati manje od čistačice, brojčano 1/3 od realne potrebe ali zato sebi našteli 10x veći bonus ... rezultat je tu.

Nego prije nego opet odvrludamo....jeli se itko igrao sa Snapdragon X Elite lapovima i Linuxom? U prilici sam relativno povoljno uzeti Lenovo ThinkPad T14s G6 sa istim pa da ne kupujem macka u vreci....

Pred mnogo godina sam imao problema sa Genius misem (nit 100 kunica bilo) i rijesio ga sa supportom. 1 osoba, 3 mejla i rijesen problem.
Prije mnogo godina puno osoba nije imalo niti miseve niti mailove. I vjerojatno si imao srece.

Uopce ne vidim kako zamisljas da se osim zaista osnovno rudimentarne podrske retail vendor uopce bavi takvim cime? Vecina njih se ne bavi niti prodajom niti podrskom, jer je to naprosto na tom nivou neisplativo na toliko mnogo razina.

Ono kaj mene smeta u danasnje vrijeme je da bez obzira na cijenu proizvoda mnoge firme daju support preko fejsa (sto nemam) ili chatboota, nemas nikakav support mejl za komunikaciju. Chat eventualno gdje ili zavrsis kod Indijca pa se mozda dogovoris (ak ne pukne chat pa sve ispocetka) ili u AI chatbot koji dosad nikad al nikad nije bio od neke pomoci (hint: Amazon, cijena artikla u vrijedonosti 2600 Eura). Mejlom kad sam morao nekog kontaktirati cak i ako sam zavrsio kod drugog djelatnika najcesce nisam morao sve ispocetka objasnjavat.
Business as usual.

Nema sad to tolko veze direktno sa Cruacial-om ni BX-om nego sto to isto se dogada precesto. A da ne pocnemo i 1st level supportu a.k.a. Service Desk u mnogim firmama (barem moje iskustvo sa vecinom teleoperatera / ISP supporta u HR i u DE).
Ja stvarno ne znam sto se ti cudis ko pura dreku. Koliko platis, toliko dobijes. Hoces dedicirani support od ISP-a? Nema problema, samo kosta. Da sam u Tele2, placao bih 5 puta manje 10 puta vise bandwidtha. Ali ne bih imao hotline sa podrskom, fiksne IP adrese, stalnu vezu i stosta drugo. A u ostatku slucajeva imas procedure koje su spore, komplicirane i mogu rezultirati velikom frustracijom. Samo je pitanje koliko ti takva usluga treba, odnosno koliko si je spreman platiti. A najcesce retailu jednostavno nije isplativo. Super simple stuff.

Kao i uvijek, slobodna je zemlja, i nitko ti ne brani da napravis svoj Crucial ili ISP i pokazes nam kako se to radi.

Pojma nemam kako se došlo do "debugiranja" odnosno toga da se netko "ne javlja". Uredno su se javili, samo što to njihovo javljanje nema previše veze s ičime. Od 30.10. do 07.11. javili su se svaki dan, osim u za vikend. Danas su se opet javili, novi igrač se zove Diksha. Veliki napredak je što su sada shvatili kako pogledati tracking te nisu ponovno zatražili već dostavljene informacije. Lako moguće da rade sve preko istog inboxa, u kojem slučaju nije ni čudo da nitko ništa ne prati.

Dakle, Fedora 41 se čini da je još gora po pitanju standby Takav mi je tarot, valjda. Oni problemi s adapterom za bežičnog miša (gdje istog treba isklj/uklj svako toliko da ga se vrati u život) su postali učestaliji. A počele su se sa tim front panelom (na kojem imam 2 plava USB porta) događati dodatno čudne stvari.

Naime šta, ako više puta uštekam stick u preostali USB port (prvog koristim za adapter, očito, da bude pri ruci za prekapčanje) oba USB prestanu raditi dok ne napravim restart. Isti uređaji na stražnjim portovima rade bez problema dok se to događa.

Zajebancija s najtrivijalnijim stvarima. Prvi puta mi se to dogodilo s novim M2 USB adapterom i poslije opet s vulgaris flash driveom. Moram idući puta pogledati ima li što u logu, ovaj put se nisam stigao zajebavati s time.

Problem s uspavanim adapterom se događa i na portovima otraga, sve kombinacije sam isprobao tako da ne vjerujem da je problem u front USB headeru. Kako problem iskoči samo povremeno (3x do sada ukupno i to sve relativno nedavno) ne vjerujem niti da je pitanje nedostatka snage (nećeš ti potrošnje flash drive + adapter, jedino sam mislio da M2 možda treba malo više).

Probaj one štoseve device / interface down > up ... potraži kako precizno ide komanda ... Linux to može za razliku od winsa.
Nije rješenje problema ali ne moraš raditi reboot.

Gnome ili KDE? Zadnjih 2 mjeseca gonim KDE sucelje (Fedora/OpenSuse) i slicne pizdarije se dogadaju. Samo sam se prelijen vratiti na Gnome. Treba vidjeti dal GUI na to utjece ili pizdarije ispod haube. TLP makni ako je instaliran.

Ja sam se pomirio tamo negdje prije 15 godina da standby/hibernate na Linuxu ne radi dobro i da vjerojatno neće nikad raditi

Recimo na laptopu imam Debian Mate, zadnja verzija i zna nekad kada odem na neku stranicu izbaci na login ekran. Instalirao Trinity DE i radi normalno na svim stranicama.


Dok na kanti Mate radi odlično.

Standy ti radi na debianu? Kratko sam ga koristio, ali ako radi standby kako treba onda je to distribucija za mene.

KDE je kod mene već duže vrijeme. Ono što me možda najviše hebe su te kotrljajuće distribucije. Što je TLP?

Što se tiče resetiranja USB porta/uređaja našao sam ovo:

Naletio sam već nekoliko puta na taj Baeldung i ekipa piše stvarno OK članke. Budem to proučio i pripremio si nešto za drugi put.
