Nakon skoro mjesec dana PR hodočašća (1 - 2) i popratnog marketinga (1 - 2), Meteor Lake je napokon i službeno predstavljen u isključivo mobilnom izdanju, samo da bi gospođa iz Intela u eter plasirala da Meteor Lake tijekom 2024. stiže i u (prethodno otkazanom) desktop izdanju. Obzirom da su istovremeno najavili i pokazali mobilni Meteor Lake, desktop Raptor Lake-R, desktop Arrow Lake uz mobilna Lunar i Panther Lake čuda tehnike, tko zna gdje točno bi se taj desktop Meteor Lake trebal ubaciti unutar sljedeće godine. Istinabog, uvijek mogu već spremne mobilne čipove prepakirati za desktop, ali čemu onda u isti vremenski period najaviti desktop Arrow Lake koji je također već spreman.

Meteor Lake for notebooks, Arrow Lake for desktops and notebooks, Lunar Lake again only for notebooks and Panter Lake again for both platforms. In its current form, Meteor Lake is not really suitable for the desktop. The only known compute tile has six performance and eight efficiency cores. It certainly can't compete with a Core i9-13/14900K with eight performance and sixteen efficiency cores. The big question is whether the ambitious schedules between Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake as well as the release of Raptor Lake refresh planned for mid-October still provide enough space for a desktop version of Meteor Lake. In addition, we currently only know about two variants of the compute tile: one with the aforementioned six performance and eight efficiency cores and one with fewer performance cores for the more economical processors of the U/Y series.

Serverski dio (1 - 2) priče je ispal varijacija na nekad ismijavanu chiplet temu do te mjere da se svoje implementacije više i ne trude zvati tiles. Naravno, najavljeni su nasljednici generacija koje još i nisu na tržištu, ali lako za to kad je u pitanju samo formalnost.

The company has the 288-core Sierra Forest CPU, this is Intel’s lower power per core answer for cloud service providers that will compete with the 192 core Arm-based AmpereOne and the 128C/256T AMD EPYC Bergamo (and future AMD CPUs.) So Intel is not just announcing an E-core variant for 2024, but it is already setting expectations for a next-generation Clearwater Forest in 2025, changing the latest cadence. Currently, Intel does not have a cloud-native CPU, but the company appears to have a roadmap to remedy that soon.

The upcoming Intel 14th Gen Core Raptor Lake Refresh is expected to include six initial models, including the 24-core 6 GHz Core i9-14900K(F), the 20-core 5.6 GHz Core i7-14700K(F), and the 14-core 5.3 GHz Core i5-14600K(F) models.
Intel 14th Gen Core desktop CPUs, part of the 125W unlocked K-Series, are anticipated to debut on October 17th. More SKUs, mostly non-K 65W models are set to launch at CES 2024.

Izgleda da je gospođa iz Intela ipak malo pretjerala sa svojom izjavom u svezi glede desktop Meteor Lake izdanja, a zapravo će samo prepakirati mobilne verzije.

Intel has made some clarifications to its recent statement regarding the desktop launch of its 1st Gen Core Ultra CPUs codenamed Meteor Lake. Intel Meteor Lake CPUs are not coming to socketed platforms, only available in desktop AIO & Mini PC solutions. This means that once again, we have to stick with the rumors that said Intel's Meteor Lake CPUs for the LGA 1851 socket have been more or less canceled. It's definitely a disappointing development for desktop PC gamers and enthusiasts who were anticipating the launch of the new chips on the LGA 1851 platform but it looks like now those users will have to wait quite a bit with Arrow Lake-S once again being positioned as the first desktop CPU family for the LGA 1851 socketed platforms.

Nema straha, Raja je prilikom odlaska/otkaza, ostavil Ryanu šalabahter za ARC GPU, a ovaj sad prilikom svojeg odlaska/otkaza taj višegodišnji P.L.A.N._i_.P.R.O.G.R.A.M. ostavlja u podjednako sigurnim rukama.

Izgleda da je gospođa iz Intela ipak malo pretjerala sa svojom izjavom u svezi glede desktop Meteor Lake izdanja, a zapravo će samo prepakirati mobilne verzije.

Ništa ne očekujem od Intela od 10 do 12th nisu donijeli napredak po autonomiji od mobilnih cpu. Tek 13th vraća ali zaostatku po performansama u odnosu AMD.

Kad gledaš konfiguratoru, moraš paziti na P i U suficit. Jer potonji P ždere jako bateriju.

Ne znam kakav će biti 14th, ali svakako za pratiti.

nije baš neki skok, mislili su reć 5% increase in ST and 15% in MT performance u odnosu na raptor lake refresh 14xxx??

Da, Arrow Lake u odnosu na Raptor Lake-R.

Neki leakovi po internetima kažu da je 14900K brži 2% od 7950.

Ovi "gainovi" me podsjećaju na cpu linije nakon sandy bridge-a. Svaka slijedeća je imala isti broj jezgri i bila 4% brža

... i 4% toplija. Mislim da je ova arhitektura big.little opet otišla u krivom smjeru, niti su temperature niže, niti potrošnja.
