DivX Player 2.1 Info - 7:13 pm EST - MrB ATI has emailed me this info about the latest DIVX player. Q: Divx.com has just released a new version of their playback application which many users have noticed has a new feature for RADEON support. There is now an option which reads "Use accelerated post-processing for supported ATI RADEON hardware" in the Playback tab of the options for the player. Can you clarify what that is? A: Well if you recall a press release that came out a couple of months ago http://www.ati.com/companyinfo/press/2003/4599.html, we announced a strategic development and marketing agreement with DivXNetworks and ATI. The new player they released is the result of that partnership. What it means is that users of ATI 9500/9700/9800 series cards can use the advanced pixel shader power of their VPU to make the video content they watch using the DivX Player look even better. This is based on our FULLSTREAM technology that basically de-blocks (gets rid of the blocks sometimes found in video content) the content. This player requires our upcoming CATALYST driver update (Version 3.3). This will be available by the end of this month. Ajd da su se sjetili malo pojasnit... |
