A ono, očekivane cijene. 6c12t ne postoji kod refresha, pa tu onda vjerojatno ostaje i7 8700K ponuda, a i5 9600K mjenja i5 8600K, praktično isti cpu, 100mhz više, te se možda bude OC-ao 100 mhz više, a biti možda malo jeftiniji nego ovaj na launchu (kod nas je bio nekih 2200-2300kn ako se dobro sjećam)

Fun fact about Spectre/Meltdown slowdowns that Intel has tried to cover up. Skunkworks on its 6950X at 4.4GHz scores higher PC Marks on Win 8.1 than my 7900X at 4.7GHz does in windows 10 with patches, same memory and speed too. So we DO know the CPUs with patches have slowed down.

Newer architecture with higher speed and same core count was heated by older tech because of the microcode. The issue with me isn’t the slowdown, it’s Intels attempt to suppress further testing of the impacts to end users. Am I out of line with that line of thinking?

Ovo već lagano postaje tragikomično. S jedne strane Intel i dalje ne popušta kad su cijene u pitanju, Core i9-9900K bi prema ovome trebal biti duplo skuplji od Ryzen 7 2700(X) modela, a s druge strane svako malo na vidjelo izlazi još jedna u nizu Spectre + Meltdown varijacija na temu. Mogu oni braniti usporedbu prije i poslije zakrpa koliko ih volja, ali netko (ServeTheHome ili Phoronix među prvima) bude si dal truda i odvrtel sve po spisku na nekoj od popularnijih dual-socket Xeon mašina. I onda usporedba sa single-socket EYPC sustavom. Lako za ovo kaj imamo po doma, to tak i tak ne dira Intel previše.

8600K će zamjeniti 9600K koji će valjda imati normalniju cijenu, ali neće ni donijeti ništa novo osim imena i možda većeg overclocka

In the benchmarks run over the weekend, the latest Intel microcode files for August (taking Xeon Scalable CPUs to 0x200004d appeared to have only minimal impact on the system performance... Mostly in I/O cases were there some slight differences in performance, but nothing overly shocking and not as bad as the L1TF Linux kernel mitigation itself -- see those benchmarks for all the details. Going into this microcode comparison I was expecting much more volatile results given their short-lived benchmark restriction, but it looks like it may have just been an overzealous Intel lawyer who thought it would be a good idea to forbid benchmarking and further lock-down their microcode license...
