A zašto nebi i i5 proizvodili u 32nm?

Ma Ok za procesor koji će proizvoditi u manjem proizvodnom procesu.

Mene zanima dali će 32nm CPU zahtijevati i novu ploču sa drugačijim/novim socketom? (valjda ne)

Nema mi baš neke logike. Za najjednostavniji primjer si uzmi 65nm i 45nm C2D proceve. Novi BIOS i "problem" riješen.

To me i zanimalo. Jer kad sam pročitao da će biti podrška za sadašnji X58 čipset automatski sam pomislio da će i biti tako - dakle ostaje socket 1366

A čuj, nema ni neke prevelike logike X58 - 1366 a P55 - 1160
Baš kao što si povukao crtu 65-45 nm C2D:

X38/48 su 775, kao i P35/45...

X58 i P55 nisu na istom socketu...

No dobro, to su moje neke misli na kojim sam ja povlačio crtu

Kako ako je P55 s.1160? (mislim fizički, nečeš ni Havendale ni Lynnfielde moći nagurati u X58/1366?)

Ili ja nešto nisam dobro skužio

A možda će samo mjenjati socket na istom chipsetu - što bi ipak značilo nova ploča , što i nije tako super

uglavnom ti ljudi mogu stavit sve na svašta, za njih radi sli na crossfire ploči i obrnuto.tak da ak oni ne sklepaju neke nebu niko.

One of the first mid-range motherboards by ASUS, the P7P55 Pro smiled for the camera at XFastest. The motherboard comes across as yet another shining example of how simple Intel has made the motherboard by relocating the northbridge to the CPU package. The LGA-1156 socket CPU is powered by an 8+2 phase power circuit. Four DDR3 DIMM slots support dual-channel DDR3 memory, and use the click-slot retention mechanism the company experimented with, on the Rampage II Gene. The DIMM retention notches are available only on one side of the slot, creating uninterrupted room for a PCI-Express graphics card.

The board provides two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots (electrically x8, x8), two PCI-E x1, and three PCI slots. The P55 PCH provides six SATA II slots, while an extra one, along with an IDE channel and an eSATA port are provided by an external controller. 8-channel audio and gigabit Ethernet make for the rest of the mix. The way the SKU is named, tells us that this could be a successor for the P5Q-Pro, one of the most popular P45 motherboards by the company.

Je, zayebali su s tim starim načinom postavljanja SATA konektora, ali osim toga IMHO ploča je čist vredu posložena.

Kolko sam ja skužio, ide tak da jedna strana odmah uđe, a na drugoj stisneš pločicu i po potrebi(nekad neće sama kliknut) zakvačiš, ko i prije.
Kad oćeš skinut, samo tu jednu otkvačiš i to je to.

Meni se to čini super sistem, neznam kak je u praksi.

Fin broj svih konektora (pogotovo PCI koji su kulturno postavljeni). Ploca super sredjena osim ovih SATA konektora. Mogla bi ona naci jako finu primjenu kod onih koji traze normalan raspored elemenata, samo da ne pretjeraju sa cijenom...

Intel Core i5 Lynnfield 2.66 GHz Tested

'Intel's quad-core Core i5 2.66 GHz processor based on the Lynnfield core, was tested on an Intel reference-design P55 motherboard (DIBX_CRB) by forum members of XFastest. The processor accompanies 2.80 GHz and 2.93 GHz variants higher up in the series, and is expected to be priced at US $196.

The test bed was put through 3DMark Vantage (Performance and eXtreme settings), Cinebench R10, Queen, Photoworxx and AES tests of Everest. The GPU is of little relevance, as the CPU test 1 is what is to be looked at. At Queen, the setup with 4 cores and HyperThreading enabled, edged a dual-Xeon L5320 (8 cores) setup. It proved to be roughly 25% faster than Core 2 Extreme QX9650 at Photoworxx, and scored marginally higher than it AES...'

Intel delays launch of Core i5


'Intel once again has delayed the introduction of Core i5, the new mainstream desktop PC platform, Lynnfield processors (tentatively Core i5) and 5-series chipsets, from July as originally scheduled, to early September 2009, according to sources at motherboard makers.

However, Core i5 processors will be available early for retail sale in late August, while P55-based motherboards will appear even sooner in mid-August, the sources noted.

Due to the global economic downturn driving down market demand, Intel expects the launch will allow more time for 4-series inventory to deplete.
Intel plans to launch three Core i5 CPUs with frequencies of 2.93GHz, 2.8GHz and 2.66GHz and priced at US$562, US$284 and US$196 in thousand-unit tray quantities. All of them will feature a TDP of 95W. The P55 chipset will be priced at US$40.

The entry-level Havendale processor is scheduled to launch in January next year, while P57, H57 and H55 chipsets will launch in the first quarter next year.'

Svidjaju mi se ove nove ploce... Al asusova izgleda kao da joj nesto fali u usporedbi sa ovom ecsovom... Al nekuzim prozvodjace, znaju da smjestaj nekih konektora smeta velikoj vecini korisnika... Al oni uporno ostavljaju tako... Nije valjda toliko jeftinije ostavit eps na sredini ploče, kao i ukosit sata konektore kao ide... Jednostavno, Nekuzim...

Bit ce zakon novi i5 procevi, jos da Athloni II budu tu negdje sa preformansama, pa da pocne jos veci rat cijena... Quad za 600 kn... san snova...

S tim da je 45 nm havendale otkazan i umjesto njega dolazi Clarkdale u 32nm procesu.

"Intel has removed 45nm Havendale from their roadmap officially and replaced it with 32nm Clarkdale. Both Clarkdale and Havendale architectures are pretty similiar - a dual core processor with Integrated Graphics.

Most likely, Intel is confident that their 32nm process technology is on target to enter mass production by Q1 2010 therefore a 45nm based processor will no longer be needed. This allows TDP to be reduced significantly since a 45nm CPU+IGP will churn out considerably amount of heat.

However, a 32nm CPU+IGP poses too much a challenge to get it out on time therefore Intel opts for Multi-Chip Package (MCP) for Clarkdale instead. The MCP contains a 32nm Westmere CPU and a 45nm IGP"

'the DFI LANParty UT P55 will provide users with a P55 platform that also brings several new and interesting features. As you will see in the leaked pictures, the board will boast a full digital PWM design and will also feature a slot for NAND flash. Additionally, the motherboard maker will integrate a mini USB port, which will be made available at the IO backpanel. According to the article, DFI will use its Flame Freezer, designed to cool down the board's chipset.

Probably the most interesting features on the upcoming board are the integrated NAND flash slot, which will likely allow computer enthusiasts to install a NAND Flash drive for extra performance, and the mini USB port. Unfortunately, the company hasn't detailed why it decided to integrate the mini USB port solution, but it has said it has something to do with the board's BIOS and that it will enable a breakthrough for motherboard technologies.'

Intel Discontinues E2220 and QX9775

Eto, nakon i7 920 i 940, jos dva modela se povlace...

'Both the E2220 and the QX9775 processors from Intel are going to be discontinued in October. This was announced by Intel today and doesn't really come as a surprise, considering that "Market demand for the Intel Pentium Processor E2220 has shifted to other Intel processors" and that the QX9775 didn't fare much better. Especially, since the QX9775 is still selling for around $1,500 USD and both the E2220 and QX9775 have worthy alternatives available in form of the Core i7 and E5000 series.'
