Nadam se da nitko neće zamjeriti, ako u Ryzen info temi napišem koju riječ o svakodnevnom korištenju Ryzen platforme sa stajališta prosječnog korisnika. OC i gaming mi nisu bliski, tako da po tom pitanju stvarno nemam potrebu ganjati visoke taktove za što više sličica u sekundi. To je ujedno i razlog zbog kojeg me dojučerašnja Intel Core i3-4130
+ ASRock Z87 Extreme 4
+ 16GB DDR3-1333 konfiguracija, vjerno služila od kraja 2013. Nažalost, sama LGA-1150 platforma ne nudi neku cjenovno prihvatljivu nadogradnju, pa je nakon četiri godine, Ryzen došao kao naručen. Orginalni plan je (između ostalog) bila nadogradnja sa 16GB DDR3-1333 na 32GB DDR4-2400, ali zahvaljujući nemilosrdnim cijenama memorijskih čipova, dodatnih 16GB će pričekati neka malo bolja vremena. Izuzev toga, prelazak s Core i3-4130 (2C/4T) na Ryzen 5 1600 (6C/12T) i HD Graphics 4400 iGPU na GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, je sasvim očekivano bolji u svakom pogledu.
Dok HD Graphics 4400 iGPU muku muči s 4K HEVC, GTX 1050 Ti isti materijal (ko bi rekel
) vrti bez ikakvih problema - zastajkivanja, trzanja i ostalih popratnih veselja. Istinabog, neka GT 1030/obična GTX 1050 bi bila i više nego dostatna za moje potrebe, ali više mi se nije dalo načekavati da neka od tih kartica bude dostupna po koliko-toliko normalnoj cijeni. Ne znam što je gore, situacija s memorijom ili grafičkim karticama. Što se operativnog sustava tiče, Windows 10 Pro je kloniran s Intel mašine, dok je Fedora 27 Workstation friško instalirana, a oba OS-a su bez nekih većih problema,
prepoznala sav novi hardver. Doduše s klonirane mašine je prilikom prvog pokretanja trebalo deinstalirati sve vezano uz Intel, ali osim toga, nije bilo zajebancije s instalacijom novih AMD-nVidia drivera.
Fedora 27 Workstation je odmah prepoznala sav hardver, ali dnf update && upgrade je obavezan. Kernel 4.13 nažalost nema mogućnost ispravnog očitavanja temperatura na Ryzen platformi, tako da su ti podaci izostali. Nadolazeći
kernel 4.15 će i tome doskočiti. Open-source
nouveau driver za nVidia grafičke kartice radi OK, ali nema mogućnost hardverske akceleracije, tako da u tom slučaju morate posegnuti za proprietary (
1 -
2) driverima. Druge popularne Linux distribucije nemaju toliko kompliciranu instalaciju, a i kad sam napokon uspjel sve podesiti - miš je otkazal poslušnost. Deinstalacija i vraćanje na open-source nouveau i miš je ponovno proradil. Nisam gubil previše vremena na tko i zbog čega ne da mišu mira.
Obzirom da mi OC i gaming nisu bliski, "testiranje stabilnosti" je provjereno pomoću korištenja običnih (u usporedbi s OCCT, Prime95, IBT, RealBench, itd.) aplikacija. Iskoristil sam Fedora 27 Workstation VM, VLC koji vrti 1080p H.264
+ MPC-HC koji vrti 4K HEVC Big Buck Bunny materijal, zadnje verzije Vivaldi, Firefox i Pale Moon preglednika (svaki
u procesu otvaranja 30 tabova) i nekolicinu popratnih aplikacija. Ništa posebno zahtjevno, ali meni dovoljno za manifestaciju potencijalnih problema.

Za razliku od ASRock Z87 Extreme 4 ploče, ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Gaming nema dual-BIOS, on-board debug LED, power, reset i clear CMOS tipke. Daleko to toga da mi je super bitno, ali bilo koja imalo opremljena ploča (pogotovo u 2017.) bi IMHO takve stvari trebala imati po defaultu. Makar kad bolje pogledam, dobar dio novijih (
1 -
2) ploča ne dolazi sa svime u kompletu, uz jasno nekolicinu mainstream i high-end izuzetaka. Samim time, Strix B350-F Gaming ne nudi mogućnost ručnog podešavanja CPU Core napona, tj. nudi se Auto i Offset, koji pak ima
+ i
- opciju i to je to. U mojem slučaju za Offset je postavljen
-, CPU Core LLC na Regular, dok su EPU i Global C-State Control uključeni. Podaci u HWiNFO su zabilježeni tokom "testiranja s običnim aplikacijama". Ne sumnjam da bi OCCT, Prime95, IBT, RealBench i društvo, cjelokupnu situaciju digli koji nivo više, ali ne zamaram se s tim, jer mi na kraju dana ništa ne znači super stabilan npr. OCCT, ako se cijela stvar sruši prilikom pokretanja primjera radi MPC-HC
+ HEVC
+ madVR kombinacije.
