Two days after reports surfaced about NVIDIA readying the GeForce GTS 450 mainstream graphics SKU for a late August launch, PCInLife got a hold of the PCB's x-ray drawings, which reveals quite a bit about the GF106 GPU the GTS 450 is based on. The PCB reveals a square GPU that is bordered on three sides with six memory chips, is powered by a 3+1 phase VRM, draws power from a 6-pin PCI-E power input, supports 2-way SLI, and has display outputs including two DVI and a mini-HDMI.

The presence of six memory chips particularly intrigues, as it could indicate a 192-bit wide memory interface. Perhaps two of those slots are empty, if GTS 450 does end up with a 128-bit memory interface, and enabled on a higher SKU, or that GTS 450 itself has a 192-bit memory interface (supporting 768 MB or 1536 MB of GDDR5 memory). Expect more details to come out in the run up for end-August.

NVIDIA's march into the mainstream graphics segment with graphics processors derived from the Fermi architecture is headed by the GF106 GPU. One of the first SKUs based on it us the GeForce GTS 450. PCB drawings of its reference board surfaced last week. According to fresh details sourced by Donanim Haber, NVIDIA pushed back the launch of GTS 450 from 31st August to 13th September. The site also sourced clock speeds of the SKU, which are 789 MHz (core), and 3760 MHz or 940 MHz actual (memory). The GPU on this SKU has a 128-bit wide memory interface, carrying 1 GB of GDDR5 memory. NVIDIA is targeting the $160 price point with the GTS 450.

Nvidia GF106 Chip For GeForce GTS 450 Leaked

Well placed sources seem to have finally pieced together specifications of NVIDIA's GeForce GTS 450 graphics card, the company's mid-range offering that competes with ATI Radeon HD 5700 series products. In the run up to this, we've come across reports showing that the SKU is based on a GPU codenamed GF106, then we came across NVIDIA reference design PCB drawings, followed by clock speeds, and finally, pictures of the GPU itself revealing quite a bit about the die size. The most recent report affirms the specs we know till now, plus revealed the CUDA core count, which is 192. The CUDA cores are clocked at 1566 MHz, and that the memory is clocked at 902 MHz (3608 MHz effective).

So as a quick recap of the tech specs of the GeForce GTS 450, it's based on the new 40 nm GF106 silicon, the die area is roughly 240 mm². The GPU has 192 CUDA cores, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface holding 1 GB of memory. The core is clocked at 789 MHz, and memory at 902 MHz (3608 MHz effective), translating into 57.8 GB/s of memory bandwidth, CUDA cores at 1566 MHz. It supports 2-way SLI, and gives you access to the latest PC graphics technologies, including support for DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.x, along with support for a wide range of NVIDIA-exclusive technologies. NVIDIA's GeForce GTS 450 will be released by mid-September.

Ali opet ako će doći 129$ što je negdje u rangu HD5750 ili kod nas kakvih 1000kn , onda i neće biti tako loši izbor, sve ovisi kakve će joj zaprova biti performanse...

Bulgarian e-tailer IskamPC.com had NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce GTS 450 listed online momentarily (presumably in error) before removing the listing. Luckily, Fudzilla were able to grab a shot of the ASUS GeForce GTS 450 based before the listing was removed. The card is a non-reference design, with ASUS's DirectCU cooler. The specifications are identical to the ones previously leaked.

The TDP of the GTS 450 is listed as 125W, quite a bit over its competitors, the HD 5750 and HD 5770 at 86W and 102W respectively. The final retail price of the GTS 450 is expected to be in the $130, which could make it a strong price/performance products.
The GTS 450 is set to release on September 13th. However, it is so late to the party (11 months after the HD 5700) that it might as well be early for the HD 6700 series, rumoured to release just one or two months after the GTS 450 release.

Nije FAIL, kako si to uspio zaključiti?

Kao prvo GTS450 bi se trebala smijetiti između HD5750 i HD5770 tako da ti rezultati nisu iznenađenje, a i u nekim testovima je čak brža što je još dodatni plus, a po najavama trebala bi doci 129$ što je u rangu sa HD5750 i tu je tvojih 200kn, a o seriji HD67XX se još nezna nista previše i zato nemaj donositi zaključke bez nekih činjenica!

Evo sad zašto je fail GF106 ili ti GTS450 ima čip dimenzija 15.3x15.7mm ili 240mm2 dok 5770 ima 170mm2, što znači da je GTS450 veča 45%, a ima manje a možda čak i budu iste performanse.

To znači da za cijenu dvije GTS450 AMD napravi skoro tri 5770, a sada uskoro dolazi i 6770 koja će biti jača od 5770 nekih 30% a cijena proizvodnje cca ista, tako da če da bude problema za nvidiu.
