Abit IP35 series rjesenje za double POST ilit boot

In order to get rid of the double-boot, you must flash from DOS and use the "/wb" switch. Keep in mind, when flashing with this switch it will overwrite the Write Block portion of your BIOS. If your flash fails, there is absolutely no coming back from it and you'll need a new chip. Just a disclaimer. I've flashed with that switch at least ten times now. Anyway, here are the instructions:


First, you'll need to create a boot floppy to use to flash it. The one I use is easily created with THIS utility (drdflash, it creates a boot floppy without drivers, which take up all the space).

After using that to create your boot floppy, copy your BIOS files to the disk. Your BIOS (if an official release) should come with awdflash.exe, abitfae.bat and runme.bat along with the {yourBIOSversion}.bin file.

If you're flashing the BIOS on an IP35 or IP35-E board to correct the double-boot problem, proceed with the step in the next paragraph. If you are not, please skip the following paragraph and continue on.

Before flashing, it's recommended you edit abitfae.bat's command line to include the "/wb" switch. Edit (right-click and choose "Edit") your abitfae.bat file. You'll see a command like this: AWDFLASH.EXE %1 /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /cks. Simply add /wb to that command, like so: AWDFLASH.EXE %1 /py /sn /cd /wb /cp /cc /cks You don't have to do this, it's just a good idea.

Restart into BIOS and choose "Load Optimized Defaults", then set your RAM voltage to the manufacturer's recommended value. Set your floppy as the first boot device (should be done when you Load Optimized Defaults, but check to be sure). Put the floppy in and restart.

Once at your command prompt, simply type "runme", hit enter and watch it do it's job. DO NOT INTERRUPT POWER OR RESTART UNTIL IT TELLS YOU TO! You will end up with a dead BIOS chip and be extremely unhappy.

After flashing, you'll probably get a hang at BIOS and a checksum error. This is normal. Power down and clear CMOS and load optimized defaults like so:

Remove power from the system.
Hit the power button to discharge the capacitors.
Move the CCMOS jumper (or switch) to the clear position.
Wait ~30 seconds.
Place the jumper (or switch) back in the normal position.
Restore power and boot up immediately into BIOS.
Select "Load Optimized Defaults" and set the recommended voltage for your RAM
Save & exit.
On reboot, go directly into BIOS and set the recommended timings for your RAM and any other options you'd like to set (i.e. boot order, etc.).

A zar nije jednostavnije i sigurnije flashirati gore novi BIOS v14, koji rješava taj i još neke problemčiće, bilo iz windowsa bilo iz DOS-a. Evo ja sam recimo flashirao iz Windowsa i sve je prošlo bez problema (jedino su mi se windowsi zablokirali nakon što je flashiranje završilo, ali sve je uredno prošlo, samo sam rebootao računalo). Ovime se riskira totalno uništenje CMOS-a, a običnim flashiranjem se uvijek može vratit na prijašnju verziju BIOS-a ako nešto krene po zlu

mijenjanjem samo komandne linije za flash BIOS-a.

Da, i jos uvijek svi "zuje" tamo u vezi mog problema s AW8 i neprepoznavanjem DDR2 na 800MHz, stalno ga posta kao 667 i kad dignem na 800 nece uopce raditi stabilno...cak mi ni ne da latencije za Kingmax(5-5-5-18), vec je tRAS najveci moguci 15. Ne razumijem jeli to ogranicenje chipseta i955X ili greska u ploci i imam li uopce razloga za reklamaciju?

U vezi s double postanjem IP35 serije...neki procesori hoce bez double posta, neki ne. Moj Prescott 2M 630 se UVIJEK double posta u BIOS-u 15, u reviziji 14 ne, jer izgleda da revizija 15 ne prepoznaje dobro neke procesore i ne prima postavke u BIOSu i kad šibnem FSB malo vislje od defaulta u windozama spusti na stock frekvenciju.

E sad, revizija 14 mi je radila OK sto se tice procesora i nisam imao double boot, ali mi nije radila TV kartica kad ju ustekam na CD in konektor na maticnoj ploci, a to je popravljeno u reviziji 15 BIOSa i TV kartica normalno pusta zvuk. Ovako sam napravio Solomunsko rjesenje: rollback na reviziju 14 i kupio Audigy SE i problem rijesen Nemam double POST, procesor mogu fino odcepit gore kad me pukne zivac, a i TV 2000XP ima bolji zvuk prek Audigyja Malo razmiljanja cuda radi, hehe.

@Razer, daj mi reci kako ti se cini IX38 Quad GT? Jel da uzimam ili ne?
