Konfa je HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF sa i5-3570, 4Gb DDR3 (stavljena još 4Gb), 500Gb HDD i Intel HD Graphics 2500.
Disk je uredno otkriven i na njega se instalira OS, ali nakon završnog restarta ne boota se. Jedino što još mogu pokušati je ući u BIOS i vidjeti je li taj disk odabran kao boot disk.
Na tu konfu sam već instalirao W11 LTSC, ali na HDD i nije bilo problema. Sada sam se sjetio da nakon restarta ispiše Intel Boot Agent GE i neke brojke, a nakon toga kaže da stavim disk. Toga nije bilo kod instalacije na HDD.
Bilo bi zgodno kada bi mogao pokrenuti konfu s M.2 diskom. Za manje od 10€ (128Gb po 3€, kartica oko 4€) bi mogao solidno oživiti i ubrzati neku staru konfu što mi je jeftinije nego kupovati SSD (cca. 15€ za 128Gb).

Provjeriti da li može bootati sa tog adaptera ...

Ni meni sa adapterom ne radi u jednom serveru, ali preko USB adaptera rade svi diskovi, isto sam od njih uzeo 3 komada ...


Naravno i u drugoj konfi sa m.2 slotom radi normalno ....

USB adapter ima USB-to-PCIe bridge čip unutra, zato radi, komp ga vidi kao USB HDD. Kad se stavi PCIe adapter za m.2 PCIe SSD onda računalo to vidi kao PCIe disk, a čini mi se da Ivybridge ne podržava boot sa PCIe diskova.

Po defaultu starija računala neće bootati s NVME. Ja sam na svom starom kompu bio ubacio PCIE adapter za NVME te sam onda bootao preko clovera na sticku. Zanimljiv period. YMMV.


BTW: ima li neko financijski atraktivno riješenje za napraviti USB stick od tih NVME diskova? M2 encolsuri se za 128 GB prividno baš i ne ne isplate

Čini mi se da je bilo 15-ak$ kod kineza, 2022. Nije plastikaner nego masivni komad aluminija. PCB/kontroler i SSD imaju thermal padove, odlično disipira toplinu.
Otada je unutra neka Kioxia BG4 ostatak od Dell laptopa. Radi bez greške i s većim nvme ssdovima. Nosim to posvuda i radi ok. USB-A i posebni USB-C kabel. Moglo je biti jedino bolje da sam uzeo RTL, a ne JMS chipset, ali radi sve, trim, konfigurabilni standby u firmwareu,...

Koliko je bilo tih diskova? Vagon? Svi ih kupuju i svi ih prodaju. Meni je jedino žao što nisu većeg kapaciteta. 128Gb je danas dovoljno samo za surf & office konfe, OS i malo osnovnih programa.
Sreća da W11 LTSC zauzme samo 35Gb pa će dobro doći za prvu ruku, ali kad-tad će se morati nabaviti dodatni storage.

Bolje ne može. Jedino što mi je osim toga bitno za USB stick, da je disk što manje amperaže kao i kućica. Spomenuti njuškalo kingston vuče 3.5A + kućica, a to nema šanse da bi radilo na USB portovima starijih (ne)prijenosnih računala. Veća amperaža -> više topline.



Limiće skidao ne bih,
jer kakvi god da jesu,
barem mrvu topline
s diska odnesu.

Da, 128 je premalo za Win.
Meni ostalo od nekih laptopa, ali sve su to modeli 256GB od prije cca 2g.
Ono što sam primijetio na spomenutoj kioxiji je da se taj integrirani SSD (kontroler i flash su u jednom pakiranju) neočekivano dosta grije.
Tako da ako nabavljate takve integrirce 2230, provjerite koliko se griju.
Super su za male mašinice, kojekakve homelab serverčiće,.... Linux ne troši prostor kao Win
Ili kao u primjerima, adapter, na ssd natrpaš ventoy ili nešto slično + ISO image i imaš relativno jeftini brzi usb stick za nositi okolo i raditi popravke/reinstalacije windowsa i sl. egzibicije.

Ti kao da nisi s nama u topicu,ili kao da 5 ljudi koristi 1 acc...

Bilo ih je podosta sto se vidi po objavljenim linkovima gdje je sigurno desetak ducana prodavalo po 1,5 eur

Placas 1,5 eur za 128 i ides kukat da je veci...pa sta bi ti...da mecku rodi za tu lovu

Nije beg cicija - spreman sam platiti čak i duplo (3 EUR) za dupli kapacitet Mene je s dostavom jedan došao 3,7 EUR.
Inače, najjeftiniji SSD od 256Gb koji sam našao na Nabavi je Silicon Power od 19 EUR.

E moj direktore onda si trebao uzeti pcie karticu/adapter s vise nvme utora i stavis vise diskova u nju,odnosno koliko ti treba kapaciteta.

Obicno novi 128 ce te kostati desetak eura,tako da je ovo gledati poklonjenom konju u zube...za ovu lovu nemres ni pisljivi usb stick od 128gb kupit...

Zaboravi. Taj komp neće bootati s NVMe SSDa kao i mnogi drugi brand name kompovi iz tog doba.

Imao sam hrpu HP/Compaq kanti iz tog doba i baš te 8300 towere i SFF. NVMe radi bez problema ali neće bootati s njega.

Sve starije od toga može NVME koristiti samo za spremište.

Čini mi se da je bilo 15-ak$ kod kineza, 2022. Nije plastikaner nego masivni komad aluminija. PCB/kontroler i SSD imaju thermal padove, odlično disipira toplinu.
Bi li ovakvo nešto bilo ok? Čini se slično.

Sandy/Ivy Bridge EP na x79/C600 uredno boota sa NVMe-a ! Ploče sa Alija naravno, dobrih se nadje vec za 45/50€.
