USB stick popunjen ali folder prazan
Pozdrav znalci,
dakle situacija je ovakva. Imam stick 256 Gb na kojem imam sve već godinama, i koristim ga isključivo na svom laptopu. Danas sam ga umetnuo u USB port i u Exploreru mi piše da je ova mapa prazna a u My PC-u piše da je slobodno 151 Gb od 234 Gb.
Dajte mi molim Vas pomagajte šta da napravim. Hvala unaprijed.

Pa ukljuci u exploreru opciju da ti pokazuje skrivene datoteke. Mozda je nesto izbrisano u recycle bin ili nekaj maliciozno. Formatiranje sticka nebi bilo naodmet.

Ma probao sam to prvo,
probao sam sve moguće stvari,inače taj stick je spajan samo na taj laptop,probao sam i na druge laptope svašta. Niš nije dirano na njemu. Bit će on trajno formatiran samo ako uspijem vratiti bar nešto.

To ti je tak kad koristiš FAT32. Datotečni sustav jedino zreo za muzej u 21. stoljeću.
Fajlovi su ti vjeronatno još uvijek na sticku ali trebaš probati recovery s nekim profi programom kao npr. R-studio.

Jebemti, idem i ja upgradeati filesystem, a onda ću razmisliti kako upgradeati firmware televizija i hifi sustava da mi čita NTFS, prije nego mi vrisne disk, na kojem je već 13 godina taj zloćudni FAT32.
Pa da baš zato. FAT32 je "very basic" filesystem koji nema napredne mehanizme oporavka kao npr. Journaling koji održavaju filesystem uvijek u konzistentnom stanju i omogućavaju oporavak u slučaju naglog prekida IO operacija. NTFS podržava journaling od 1993. ali samo za metadata što je i u redu jer to daje dobar omjer performansi i otpornosti na greške. U najgorem slučaju fajl na kojem se vrše IO operacije tijekom prekida postane korumpiran ali interna struktura metapodataka može biti ponovno rekreirana koristeći podatke iz journala.

A to što ti koristiš egzotične uređaje koji ne podržavaju NTFS to je tvoj problem. Moj stari DVB-T Strong SRT 5203 prijemnik tamo negdje iz 2011. je bez problema čitao i pisao po NTFS-u. Godinama sam ga koristio kao snimalicu jer je imao 2 tunera što mu je omogućavalo da se snima jedan program a gleda drugi. Moj LG smart tv iz 2021. isto tako čita i piše po NTFS-u ali za razliku od kineskog Stronga može snimati samo program koji se gleda. I još gore taj snimak kriptira tako da se ne može reproducirati na nekom drugom uređaju a Strong je snimao u MPEG4 formatu.

meni se to dogodilo već dva puta. niti jedno nije bio fat32... ali ja ne vadim disk "safely..." ja to samo čupam. možda zato, možda ne.
uglavnom na kompu se datoteke vide, a na nekim drugim uređajima ih nema.
format u ext4 i to je to.
tražio na internetu rješenja i nijedno mi nije radilo.

Ne znam. Ali poanta je da na externim medijima koji se često samo čupaju bez pitanja poželjno koristiti datotečni sistem koji je malo više otporniji na gubitak podataka.

Ali koji FS ti uređaji koriste interno?

S obzirom da se sve to vrti na nekakvim mikro Linuxima vjerojatno je ext3 ili ext4. Ali Linux ima dobru podršku za NTFS i dosta tih TVova i media playera će prepoznati NTFS formatirani storage.

Poanta priče je da se ne može kazati da FAT32 "gubi" fajlove samo tako jer milijarde uređaja momentalno koriste FAT32. To je poanta koju je machine gun Ivo iznio i koja se nekako ne prenosi baš najbolje u pismu.

To su uglavnom primjene gdje se po filesystemu ne piše nakon što se instalira. Za ono gdje ima puno zapisivanja, pogotovo ako je removable medij se koristi uglavnom NTFS ili ext4 koji imaju journaling, puno otporniji na greške.
I na Linuxu se za boot particiju uglavnom koristi ext2 koji nije journaling FS zato što tu nema puno zapisivanja.

Ehm...nope...EFI particija (znaci onaj dio gdje se zapisuje bootloader za svaku normalnu distru) je uvijek FAT i kolko ja drkam na dnevnoj bazi po tome trebala je odavno odapeti a koristim istu bez formatiranja vec 3 godine. Tak da ili virus ili izbacivanje sticka iz kompa bez dopustanja da se svi pdoaci zapisu ili kak bi Dudek rekel "Bozja volja" su moguci uzroci za ovu havariju. Ali ovdje nije tema Linux vs Windows niti NTFS vs FAT/FAT32 vec kako da OP spasi podatke ako je moguce. Tak da bi lepo prosil najprije pomoci OP-u da spasi podatke ako se da a nakon toga mozemo voditi diskusiju jeli potrebno da stick formatira u FAT32 opet ili radije u NTFS ako mu to sustavi dopustaju.

Da, to je drukčiji use case. Ako u normalnoj upotrebi nije izgledno da će doći do prekida u zapisu podataka onda i ne-journaling sustav može raditi ok. Ali ako dođe do problema, onda će journaling nuditi bolje šanse za oporavak.

Ali ovdje nije tema Linux vs Windows niti NTFS vs FAT/FAT32 vec kako da OP spasi podatke ako je moguce. Tak da bi lepo prosil najprije pomoci OP-u da spasi podatke ako se da a nakon toga mozemo voditi diskusiju jeli potrebno da stick formatira u FAT32 opet ili radije u NTFS ako mu to sustavi dopustaju.
Da, odmakosmo se od toga, pa da bacim dva centa kako bih ja to napravio. Podići sustav sa live Linuxa, najčešće za sitne fikseve koristim SystemRescueCD jer je dosta malen, a ima i grafički desktop ako zatreba. Ali dobar je i Debian, Mint, Kali, praktički svaki live Linux, osim Tails

Onda napraviti sa "dd" image problematičnog sticka na neki drugi medij, poželjno SSD, ali može i HDD.
Nakon toga u Windowsima pokrenuti R-Studio i dati mu kao izvor podataka taj image napravljen sa dd da ga preskenira i ponudi opcije za recovery.
Osim R-Studija se može koristiti i neki drugi recovery program koji može raditi sa image fajlovima, a ne samo sa medijima direktno.

IMHO je svaki recovery bitno raditi na imageu originalnog medija, a ne na samom mediju jer su tako šanse da će problem postati još veći zapravo nepostojeće.

R-Studio može sve to obaviti. Nema potrebe za Linux-om. Znači prvo napraviti image s R-Studiom i onda radit recovery nad tim imageom.

Ma može, ali kad radim image za recovery više volim sustav koji nema običaj sam pisati po medijima bez pitanja, kao Windowsi.
