The cute and cuddly VideoLAN media player has recently received a new update. The 0.8.6i version features:

- Fixed integer overflow in WAV demuxer
- Fixed option to use shared memory within the GLX video output module
- Improved galaktos-based audio visualizations on FreeBSD
- Miscellaneous bugfixes in multiple modules and in libvlc (transcode stream output, OSD menu video filter, VCD input, SAP services discovery, http control interface

Meni npr. nikada nije sjeo kako spada. Slika i neke druge stvari (npr. titlovi) su po defotlu lošiji nego kod KMP-a na kojeg stvarno već duže vrijeme nemam prigovora...

Kakav je VLC po pitanju DVD.a i da li omogućuje podešavanje dolby digital, stereo i sličnih output streamova što se tiče zvuka?

Također, kakvo je stanje po pitanju Blu Ray.a?

Neznam. Dok mi je StrongDC skidao neke stvari sa neta u VLC-u mi je slika stekala kod 1080p sadrzaja, a kod MPC-a je radila bez problema.

Jedno pitanje posto do sada nisam koristio ovaj player...
Koliko sam skuzio on ima u sebi integrirane codece tako da mi je dovoljan samo on za gledanje filmova na kompu? Ne moram instalirat k-lite codec pack i ta sranja?
Jel vrti bas sve moguce formate ili?

The VideoLAN team is very pleased to announce the release of VLC media player 0.9.9.

This is a bugfix release on the 0.9 branch of VLC. Notables bugfixes are:

• fullscreen behaviour on Windows with multiple screens,
• workaround bug with libxml2 >=2.7.3,
• video performance on Intel-based Macs,
• various decoders updates on Windows.

An experimental native decoder for Real Video 3.0 & 4.0 using FFmpeg has been added and many fixes happened in our Real Media demuxer.
This should improve Real Media Files support on all platforms.

Video output:
* Effects (cube, torus, etc.) removed from OpenGL video output
* Video is able to stay in original size and to zoom in fullscreen
(hotkey 'o') while keeping black borders
* Image video output has been rewritten into a video-filter named 'scene'.
The old image video output has been removed.
* Support for scaling and converting video chromas with FFMPEG imgresample was
withdrawn due to bugs. Please use the newer FFMPEG swscale instead.

Source tarballs and Windows binaries are already available for download.

VLC 1.0.0-rc1, codename Goldeneye, is a test release of the 1.0.0 version of VLC. It introduces many new codecs, various playback core improvements (frame-by-frame, live-recording, instant pausing, etc...), interface improvements, new features and many bugfixes. We encourage people to test and report regressions that could have crept in this release.
