Brzo bootanje XP-a

Slučajno sam naišao na tekst u kojem je objašnjeno kako podesiti XP da se boota brže, probao i rezultati su zapanjujući. Sad me zanima jel se tim postupkom može napraviti kakva šteta na hardwareu i jel ima još kakve nedostatke. Evo postupka:

1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:\
2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".
3. Double click "Windows Settings" under "Computer Configuration" and double click again on "Shutdown" in the right window.
4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".
5. Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.
6. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "devmgmt.msc".
7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".
9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".
10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat step 9.
11. Reboot your computer.

Cisto sumnjam da mozes napraviti ikakvu stetu hardwareu, to sto si napisa je samo set softverskih optimizacija koje se mogu naci i u mnogim tweak toolsima... Uglavnom nemas brige

dosao sam do koraka 9.,i pojavi se problem,ne mogu odabrati "none"jer mi je auto detect siv i nemam druge opcije za odabrati
kako da to rijesim?!

isto nisam mogao napraviti korak 9.

Same old... nema promjene kod boota.

Problem može biti u izdanju windowsa, moj je XP Professional SP3, nisam pokušao ni na jednoj drugoj verziji.

XP sp3, kako pise u uputama, tako sam napravio i vrijeme boota je identicno.

Jedino ako ova fora sljaka samo na desktop racunalu, na mom lapu nema razlike...

Bootanje mi se skratilo za skoro polovicu vremena.
Jako dobra stvar.

Samo da obavjestim da radi i na WinXP Home Edition SP, uz neke preinake u postupku.

Hm, ja imam problemčić. Ne mogu proći točku 8 jerbo izgleda drugačije nego kod ostalih. Vidi slike:

BAD IDEA. A crude and ugly hack.

A more appropriate name for this tweak would be “Boot Win XP Slowly”, because that is exactly what it will do. Steps 1-5 will create a script that will delete the “NTOSBOOT-B00DFAAD.pf” file on every shutdown. This file is used to guide the boot prefetch operation that takes place during the moving bar animation. If the file is deleted this can not take place and the animation will take very little time. This is what convinces many people that the boot process is faster. Don’t be fooled.

The files that were normally loaded during prefetch must be loaded. If this can not be done by prefetch, it will be done later on during the boot sequence. But now it will be done much less efficiently and take longer. If the boot process is timed with a stop-watch it will be clearly seen that it is slower.

Steps 6-10 will remove a small delay during boot. It will also disable a second hard drive or CD if present. So beware!

For proper operation of the prefetch system it essential that the Task Scheduler service be enabled and set to Automatic. Some uninformed sources have irresponsibly advised that this service may be safely disabled. Doing so will cripple both boot and application launch times.

Pokusao sam mjeriti vrijeme od trenutka ukljucivanja laptopa do trenutka kad je spreman za rad (svi programi loadani)
sa i bez ovog moda i ispadne 100 sekundi bez moda i 106 sekundi sa modom...

Izmjerio sam vrijeme od trenutka pritiska na Power button do pojave logon screena i iznosi 41 s.

Taj podatak od 41 s nema veze ako ne kažeš koliko vremena prođe bez tog tweaka. Različite konfiguracije imaju različito vrijeme bootanja.

Ispričavam se zbog toga, znaći 41s sa modom, 49s bez moda.

Sad pokusaj izmjeriti vrijeme od trenutka ukljucivanja do trenutka kad je spreman za rad, odnosno kad su svi startup programi ucitani.

Mislim da to nema smisla, dalje od logon screena vrijeme potrebno da sustav bude spreman za rad ovisi o količini startup programa i ostaje isto bez obzira na mod.

Sto mi vrijedi malo brze doci do logon screena, ako ce onaj drugi dio duze ucitavati.

Neznam, to kod mene nije slučaj, na svakom kompu djeluje drugačije.

49 naspram 41 sekunda. Neš ti razlike...

I slažem se s vercettiem, to vrijeme je nebitno, bitno je kad su windowsi spremni. Kad bi mjerio vrijeme, mjerio bi koliko treba do trenutka kad izvrti procese u pozadini i postane spreman za rad, a ne da gledam pješčanu čukicu iako sam na desktopu.

Pokusao sam mjeriti vrijeme od trenutka ukljucivanja laptopa do trenutka kad je spreman za rad (svi programi loadani)

mogu potvrdit tvrdnje kolege varcetti-a s modom xp-sp3 diže 85 sec. full sa svim programim sremno za rad a bez njga 55 sec. dakle samo gore.

istina da je brže ono vrijeme od beep-a matične do welcom screen-a i one crtice od xp mi prođu 3 puta umjesto 5 ali je zato vrijeme od welcoma pa do podizanja full svih programa i mreŽe puno duže.

znači s modom 85 sec. od beep-a do full podizanja
bez moda 55 sec. od beep-a do full podizanja

pa ko voli nek izvoli!!!
