Along with the details for the lineup, Coolaler mentions that the desktop chips for the mainstream platform will be slightly delayed to early 2017. Right now, Intel plans to bring out their mobility processors based on the Kaby Lake architecture as soon as possible.

The mainstream lineup which is internally known as Kaby Lake-S will be featured on the LGA 1151 socket. While this socket is the same as Skylake before it, the change it chipset (200-series) would not allow compatibility with older generation (100-series) motherboards.
