"Everyone with goodix sensors on the mi a2 has this problem. Nobody has said they don't. Xiaomi themselves have reported that they reproduced this issue. It is widespread. It happens on all goodix A2s. And it is totally correctable via software. I've rooted and went into kernel settings and seen that the minimum CPU frequency setting is being changed. Manually setting it back to normal fixed the issue. It's not a hardware thing but a driver thing that can be fixed via software no doubt"
